This USED to be my favorite place to eat but over the past year they have gone down hill quickly. I hadn't eaten there in a couple of months hoping that they would work out whatever kinks they had but I went this weekend for the last time ever. They brought me the wrong dish twice and by the time I got the correct dish it still was not prepared correctly but everyone I was with was already done eating so I gave up on getting what I ordered and ate it. There was also some hard foreign object in my food and when I showed it to the manager he did not seem to care. They have a sanitation rating of 91 and that is after 2 re-inspections giving them chances to fix the problem! One of the problems was MOLD in the ICE MACHINE! This has become our Go-To place for Mexican food. They have both Tex-Mex-style dishes and authentic Mexican dishes. I love the carnitas burrito and the nachos, while Hubby has tried many other dishes. We've enjoyed every meal there. Generally, the dishes include more food than either of us can eat. The service is always great too. read more

This place looks like a hole in the wall but the inside is really spacious. Chips and queso were great along with the salsa. My boyfriend loved his ACP. I got steak fajitas. The steak was a little tough and didn't have a ton of flavor. But once you added some salsa and hot sauce it was tasty! Servings were big and our waitress was attentive. read more

So glad to find real Mexican food amidst Raleigh's sea of hipster-filled, small-plate, $16-taco-meal, local-kale nightmares. Seriously, I don't want to feel underdressed for a friggin taco. Then we found this place. Went here just 10 minutes before they were closing. They couldn't have been nicer. Food was amazing, exactly like we've had like in California and Mexico. Two giant meals and the total was under $20. Only issue was a bit of a language barrier, no worries. If you're looking for good Mexican and not a pretentious, organic circle jerk, go here. read more

Terrible delivery experience. I ordered a Burrito Jalisco and got instead a chicken burrito. Literally it was not only incorrect, but chicken burrito, if you can call it that, was a tortilla that had a ton of unseasoned chicken in it. It was terrible and I will never order from here again, unfortunately. My friend also ordered the a dish that has skirt steak and cactus. The cactus was missing entirely. The steak was rough and hard. Super dissapointed with Mi Rancho and will avoid moving forward. read more

Pretty clean and well lit resturant; you dont expect it from the looks of it outside and the location. Prices were very reasonable and the groupon code was added with no problem! read more

Horrible. Scammers. Bland food and they cross contaminate veggie dishes with meat products. Did I say horrible ? I had a Groupon. The manager said it was dine in only. After I showed him the groupon pointing out it didn't say that anywhere, he said okay I will take it and hit "redeem" on my phone. Then he switched stories and said he can't take it because it's weekend only. UMMM but you hit "redeem" on my phone already and I lose the groupon! He said "okay I will give you 20 off" -mind you, I paid almost $30 for the groupon itself. How does that make any sense? After going back and forth multiple times I paid the bill but I will never go back. Still can't believe the manager was such a crook. Also, I told them to make sure they didn't cross contaminate my food with meat products and when I got home to eat my meal, there was 2 little pieces of beef in it. WTH. Just NO. There are way too many good Mexican food places around....do yourself a favor and skip this. read more

Best Mexican restaurant in Raleigh. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, lobster tai, queso and tacos (I was sharing) and everything was amazing!

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Salsa was ok. food was bland. Service was a total bummer. 2 thumbs down read more

The service was a tad slow getting started, and at first I feared we had been forgotten. Once they found us again, though, it was smooth sailing. And the food was so good! I had caldo de res. Great stuff! Nice and spicy. The black beans that came with my wife's enchiladas were nicely seasoned, too. We are not from the area, so won't be back, but I'd encourage anyone else to check it out. read more

Mi Rancho is very close to the Quality Inn where we stayed last weekend. I walked to Mi Rancho and ordered two tacos to take to our room. They included chips and taco sauce for free. Everything was nicely packed. The people were friendly and speedy. The food was yummy! read more

This was my first time coming to Mi Rancho since the name change. I was happy to see the menu has not changed too much. The services was pretty good, our waitress was very friendly as well as the rest of the staff we interacted with. If you are looking for a wide variety of pretty good Mexican food and good drink specials, this is your place. I had gone with a couple friends for a night out. We were excited about the $5.50 fishbowl margaritas. They were ok, but very heavy on the sour mix and I could not taste any alcohol (which I consider both a positive and a negative haha). I had ordered cheese dip for the table but unfortunately it never came, so I had to remind our waitress to take it off the check. For my meal I had arroz con pollo. It was a huge portion and it had a lot of good veggies in it! The chicken was slightly chewy on some pieces but I think it was just fat that had not been trimmed. Overall though, it was good. read more

Good Mexican food outside of the downtown corridor. I had enchiladas and my friend had a quesadilla. Nice portion sizes and very reasonably priced. I also enjoyed a fishbowl margarita on the rocks which was their Sunday special. read more

Food and service were good. However, my sister has a health issue and can only eat small portions over a long period of time. She thought she ordered small side portions because she ordered was under 'sides', but ended up being charged $12 for a plate that resembled a full sized meal. My sister was so upset she was in tears and we ended up talking to the manager and she told him that she can't justify paying $12 when she can't eat something and the manger REFUSED to take it off! I'm sorry, but Ive personally worked in the food service industry for a very long time and that is in poor taste. If a customer has a health issue and cannot eat something or at least the huge ass amount of "sides" that has been put in front of you, you do what you can to make them happy! Even if it does mean comping a $12 dish!!! read more

This location has been through several incarnations of Mexican restaurants, this is at least the third and by far the worst. The interior has been opened up and has a much better look by removing the large section of booths in the center of the restaurant and replacing them with tables and just leaving booths along the wall. But the food was really awful. No one in our group except one liked the food enough to take leftovers and they were taking the leftovers to repurpose them for other things (guacamole, chilcken fajita meat, rice, etc). The red enchilada sauce was not homemade, seemed very canned and had a tomato-ey taste which most true enchilada sauce does not have, it's basically supposed to be a gravy made with dried chili powder. The only bright spot was the Margarita special which was $1.50 each for an acceptable Margarita. read more

most authentic mexican food! never too salty or too dry! rice is never soggy either! waiters and waitresses are always on point with refills AND customer service! that's why they're always packed and that's why WE keep coming back! plus, who can say no to drink specials 7 days a week ?!?!? read more

This place was not the cleanest at all. Whatever you do don't go to the bathrooms. Our server was very pleasant. For the food it was ok. So over all we will not be coming back. There just was not enough good for a second time. The lack cleaning just was too much. read more

The ceviche was outstanding! That alone will bring me back. The chips were fresh and the salsa had good flavor. Taco salad and beef burrito were well done, not thrilling but good. The service was fast and friendly. Worth another visit. read more

I'm traveling in Raleigh and i stumbled on mi rancho. It's nor exactly like momma used to make; but, it's pretty close. Great service also

I have loved this place for years now. Good food and service until tonight. Guy at register was super-nice to me two weeks ago when I ordered take-out even though I had to wait for a remake cause someone else "allegedly" took my order. Last week when I ordered they asked my name. Everything was good. I asked for spicy salsa and got it (really good stuff). This place was my go-to for take-out during Covid-19 because I'm so close in proximity and because it's so good. Tonight, the same guy wasn't nice at all to me. They said "ten minutes" on order and I gave them 15 min. When I got there, had to wait again for my order. No excuses this time. I caught the feeling like this guy could give two flying f's about me even though he was cool to me last visits. He said two minutes so I went outside for 5 minutes. I came back in and waited for another 5 minutes. He handed my bag of food like I was a pestering vagrant. He immediately walked away. I awaited for his returned attention. A whole minute later after I was again acknowledged, I asked for "spicy red salsa". He said it was in my bag but when I got home the only salsa was boring chip salsa. Having had this recent experience, I'm now saying adios to Mi Rancho. Won't be back. Damn shame because the food is good. This guy just rubbed me wrong tonight. read more

I will definitely be back. The salsa wasn't too spicy and my burrito was wonderful. Best restaurant Spanish rice I've ever had. We were serenaded by a gentleman with a voice so sweet. My husband said the mole sauce was very good. We both enjoyed our meals. Loved the decor, it was clean and we'll lit. read more

Went here for cinco de mayo and me and my aunt both get food poisoning!!! Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. We ordered different entrees but ate from the same appetizer, which was a sausage dip. We are on day 2 of being sick and right now we both have body aches as well. I will be reporting and I advise no one to dine here. read more

My whole family and I had been coming to this place for years before the name change but after today that will change! My husband ordered a Mar y Tierra and there was a hair in his steak. We told our waiter about this and they brought back another plate. All would've been fine but they brought back the same steak! Reason we knew was bc my husband could tell the only place where he cut it. They literally just flipped the steak and brought it back out with new rice and beans. We asked to speak to the owner. He then proceeded to imply we had put a hair in it because the hair was long and nobody in the kitchen had long hair. That was not the case as I wasn't even sitting next to my husband!! It was very rude and disrespectful of the owner to assume that! Mi Rancho will not be receiving any of my family's business ever again. read more

This place used to be horrible years ago, but it has changed a few times and this is a winner! HUGE portions with good service! The aguas frescas are great... Try one! I have been several times and everything I have tried has been delicious! They did mess up a to go order for me one time, but said I could call back in another the next day :) This place is a little more authentic than others, which is right down my alley, but they also have a great mix of more traditional dishes & more americanized ones as well as some i've never seen on any other mexican menu! read more

My office is close by and we go there for lunch often. Great staff, prices, and food! Lunch fajitas are my favorite!

The food is good but the servers wear these red ties that are filthy and that's all I could think about while eating. :( Lose the dirty red neck ties and I'll be back! Please! read more

I got an incredible Coronarita here! It was nice and big and delicious. The service was great, our server was super funny and nice. I highly recommend stopping in here. read more

The same manager has ripped me off twice. First, with a Groupon that was for $20 off Dinner. He insisted that we had to buy 2 entrees, despite it not saying that anywhere. It was for $20 off food purchase at dinner. And yet, he had redeemed it but then refused to credit me the $20. We spent $23 on food without counting drinks. He gave me a gift certificate to come back. I came back with the certificate and a $5 off $20 purchase coupon, spent $25 on food, and he refused the coupon saying he had never seen it. I posted a pic to the restaurant's page so that they can see that it was from their establishment. And, they only let posts show once they approve. Stop ripping people off. read more

The carnitas are A++ and amazing, very authentic tacos. The service is a little meh but overall good.

So delicious and the service was awesome! Plus you can't go wrong with $1.99 margaritas.

Food is good, it is a big open restaurant which is a plus but service lacks. I visited this location on two occasions. The first time was about an hour until they closed & the second for take out. I figured service lacked the first time because it was near closing (I worked at a restaurant so I know exactly how they feel when people come in near closing). There was miscommunication between me and my server & she got quickly upset even though it was simply just a miscommunication and I wasn't upset, I just wanted it fixed. I figured I'd give it a second try at a time that wasn't near closing. When I came for take out (and also my first visit) I made eye contact with employees without acknowledgement until someone helped me. Slow to come greet and help you out. About 3-4 employees walked by me, looked at me, and continued on though I was standing there lost. I enjoy the food, but not the service! read more

Today was my first day at this restaurant. My family and I were looking around for New Mexican food to try and we decided to stop at Mi Rancho. Decorations were good, I would say it was a presentable restaurant. We walk in and people greeted us nicely and it all fell down to we sat our table with no chips no waiter for a good 5-10 minutes and other tables were coming in and got their chips right away. I'd give it a minus 3 for slow service. We left the restaurant so we didn't try the food but I'll give it two stars since we didn't give it quit a good try. read more

Not too many Mexican restaurants have real stuffed Poblano peppers and they were delicious. The portions are great and the Margaritas too. The staff was very friendly. We were a group celebrating 5 de Mayo (30 of us) and they provided us with a semi-private room. We will be back! read more

Ok, this place is sketchy...right next to a pawn shop and Super 8 motel. Two friends and I walked in at 6:00 on a Wednesday and the place was dead. The bartender was doing all the duties I feel.....waiting tables, cooking, tending bar etc. It took him 2 times to get my friends simple order right, the food was bland, we had to keep adding salt to give it something. I'd be surprised to see this place last much longer. read more

What a disappointment! We were really looking forward to some great Mexican, and when has Mexican ever been bad? This was. The service was mediocre, but the food quality was alarmingly poor. The refried beans tasted rotten and the meat quality was even worse. With that said, we did not eat much. Still, we all had upset stomachs later that evening. I strongly suggest trying other Mexican restaurants, like El Dorado, in the area. read more

We had a group of 15 come in for my friends birthday. The food was good. However, the drinks tasted watered down and you couldn't taste alcohol, to the point where multiple people in our party asked if there was alcohol even in it. We were ready to go a little after 8:30. Took forever to get our checks from our waitress. She literally went back through and asked everyone again what we had and drank instead of writing it down in the first place. Then we were waiting even longer until after 9:30 to get the receipts and change back. We waited 40-50 minutes just on our checks, which was ridiculous. They also added in gratuity since we had a large party which sucked because the service sucked and they didn't even deserve that. She might've been new or something, but if that's the case, they should have given us two servers and just organized it way better. We got there at 7 and didn't leave until after 9:35. One other person went up and inquired about our checks as well. I walked up complained and just wanted the change back for my order so me and my partner could leave and she said one moment and didn't do anything until her manager walked up asking if everything was ok. Just overall disappointing besides the food. And the bill was suspicious. My entree was 7.99, and $13 for my partners. Got one margarita at 7.50 and he got 2 imports for $5 total. Yet our bill came out to $50.52. You do the math. Even with gratuity added, should not have come out to $50. Overall service ruined the night and a lot of people in our parties didn't understand why they were charged so much even with gratuity added. Wouldn't recommend going here. read more
