Food was just ok, there was only 1 table seated when we arrived but we still waited quite awhile to be seated, no greeting from staff at all (they were well staffed), we finally were noticed by a man coming out of the back room, no friendly greeting, just a grouchy "how many" and he sat us down. The problem came when we received our handwritten bill that was dropped off by the same guy that sat us (not our server). My math was quite different from his math even though itemized amounts for 4 items was correct, the total was nearly $5 more. Upon checking out, I asked this man (now at the front desk taking our payment) to please double check the total and he just pointed to the total and said "that's the total". I asked him again to double check it and he grabbed the receipt and still asked "what's the problem?" I said "your math", he tried to blame it on the calculator sitting on the counter and then entered each item in the register and came up with the correct amount. No apologies from him, he seemed annoyed that I challenged him, it was odd and I won't go back. If you do go, triple check your bill carefully before heading up to the register, places that don't use computerized billing have a higher risk of "making mistakes". 3 chicken tenders with a lunch order of nachos shouldn't cost $25 before the tip. read more

Spotted this restaurant as we were on our way to an antique shop in the area. Since there were a lot of cars in the parking lot we figured it must be good so turned around. The outside is in need of some sprucing up but don't let that put you off. The inside, including restroom, was spotlessly clean. We were not disappointed with the food. Well seasoned and so tasty. Loved my chili relleno and chalupa. Once bit of advice. They have entrees listed under combination plates as well as lunch specials. Problem is they are all listed with numbers 1 through etc. But the dishes are different. My husband ordered the #7 from the combination menu but was brought the lunch #7 which was totally different so be sure to tell the server which menu you want. When he pointed out the mistake, the server very politely replaced it. Will definitely go again on our next antiquing outing. read more

I used to absolutely Love this place until today!! I only get an hour for lunch and we had to wait 40-45 minutes for our food and when we did get it, it was barely warm. I don't know what happened to our waiter but after we were done, a nice lady came over to check on us. I asked her twice if our lunch was free because of how long we had waited and she affirmed yes-twice. So as we were heading out, the manager came ranting and raving, accusing us of being deadbeats; considering we waited but could've left before he even showed up. We tried to explain what had happened but he just didn't give a shit. He didn't even offer a discount on our meal or anything to insure customer satisfaction. I really feel bad for his employees to have to deal with him and his attitude. It'll be a cold day in Hell before we go back!! read more

Rude staff and management. The food is decent but the hostess, server and manager were extremely rude, inattentive and oblivious.

Terrible customer service! I came across this restaurant based on my search for comfort food. I arrived and there was a server checking some people out at the register so I waited in line as there was no sign or direction about waiting to be seated or picking out your seat. After the server finished with the customer she was helping, she finally made eye contact with me and asked if I was picking up an order. I told her I was dining in the restaurant. She then told me to hold on and looked a little confused. I waited and a few minutes later came another server/hostess asking what she can help me with. Again, I told her I was dining and waiting to be seated. Mind you, there were plenty of empty seats on this Friday night at around 8pm. This second employee also looked very puzzled and did not respond to me when I asked for a table. Finally, one of the male employees asked the ladies what the problem was and immediately picked up a menu and asked if I needed a table for 1. I confirmed and asked him what the issue was on getting me a table and if the ladies did not understand me or if they didn't speak English. He kind of just shook his head. My issue with this restaurant was the lack of attention and respect. I don't want to bring up the race card but I don't think there was a language barrier here because 99% of the customers were Caucasian and I was the one who was treated as if I didn't belong in the restaurant. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to this place. The food was also mediocre and lacking flavor. I ordered the enchiladas with the mole sauce and did not particularly care for it. The prices are very fair and affordable so at least I can't complain about spending a great amount for a mediocre dish. read more

We stopped at Mi Rancho on our way from SC back to NY. What a pleasant surprise. Humble exterior, but the interior is very clean. Food was outstanding, and we eat Mexican a lot. We ordered chicken chimichanga, chilli relaino, veggie quesadilla and huavos Mexicanos with extra chorizo. All delicious and prepared fresh, including fresh corn tortillas. And their chips and fresh salsa were excellent. Great service. Compares favorably to the best restaurants in Rochester New York. Don't hesitate to give this place a try. read more

Went to here and the menu said "Authentic Mexican Food." There's nothing authentic about this place from the margaritas that we're crazy sweet to the food that was incredible bland with virtually no spice or seasoning at all (side note, special of the day was a "Hawaiian Burrito! Lol). If you like unauthentic Americanized Mexican food (flour tortillas, no spice, shredded mozzarella cheese, etc) then this is the place for you! If you want food that's good then go somewhere else. :-( read more

We have eaten at all three Mi Rancho locations and this one is our favorite! The food is pretty much the same at all three, but the service in Verona is above and beyond, along with the atmosphere. As a type II Diabetic, I can always find something to eat. Salad, sure, but there are plenty of proteins on the menu and you can ask to have the sauces on the side if that's an issue for you. I just offer the rice to someone at my table, or even ask for it to be left off of the plate! SUPER PLACE :) read more

I have been here several times with my boyfriend. The food is always good and the wait staff is always friendly. This is a pretty affordable place to go and the portions are always large. The atmosphere in this location, in my opinion, is better than the Staunton location. However, a couple times we've waited 15-20 minutes to be waited on after being seated. That's not really the waiter/waitress' fault, that's the hostess' fault for not informing them. However, the waiter is always apologetic and polite so it's not an issue. Overall a good place to eat, they have a lot to choose from and the food is always delicious. read more

Everything was above average in taste and quality and the service is fantastic. We've tried other Mexicans but keep going back here! This is the only place we go to get Mexican food anymore. It's lovely and typically pretty quiet, even in the evenings. You can enjoy your food and still have a conversation. Some servers speak better English than others but we've never had any problem! They even tolerate it with a smile when we badly mispronounce whatever dish we choose. You get great value for the money. You can also call in an order and it's ready for pickup quite quickly. We had only a ten minute wait the last time so as soon as I called it in I jumped in the car and it was waiting for me. read more

Considering we are now in the era of Trump.....it seems fitting my first yelp* review for 2017 should be on a Mexican restaurant that was absolutely fantastic. No wall he is going to build will separate me from the fantastic Mexican food many Mexicans and Mexican Americans have incorporated beautifully into our American culture. We just spent a weekend escaping the craziness that was the inauguration in DC and was driving back home. It was time for a lunch break and as we approached the interstate we decided to drop by somewhere in Verona, VA. Initially we wanted fast food but with the magic that is the yelp* app, we decided to check out a local restaurant. Mi Rancho Mexican had 4 stars and wonderful reviews and decided to check it out. As expected, it looked like your good old suburban restaurant although this was free standing and not in a shopping mart. There was a random cow sculpture on the awning and once we were inside, it was Mexican ambience flair with a bit of stereotyped (in a good way) awesomeness here and there. Not many folks were there so we got seats promptly and ordered from there awesome Chinese style menu by just saying the number of the combination you want. I got the 21 which was 1 taco 1 burrito and 1 chalupa (not by Taco Bell standard but more of a torta). We got our food and it was very good. Even the chips and salsa we got while waiting was just right, not too salty not too bland. Again it was a quick lunch and so I'm sure dinner there is quite a different pace, but the yelp* reviews were right and if it wasn't for that, we would have probably just got stuck eating fast food somewhere. And so yelp* in 2017 will continually guide me where I need to go...and thanks to my fellow yelpers for guiding us to this restaurant. I have no idea when I'll ever be back in Verona but Trump better keep his hands off this mighty fine restaurant! read more

Let me start off by saying I am Mexican (Juarez, Chihuahua) so I'm very critical about "authentic" Mexican restaurants. This place is not even close to authentic and is not even as good as El Charro. All the burritos are smothered in red sauce and might as well be enchiladas, their chalupas are actually tostadas, and they use premade hard shell tacos instead of frying up the tortillas themselves. Positive their beans are canned. However, the staff here is so friendly and they have awesome drink specials (big points there!). $2.99 Mexican beers on Sunday and Wednesdays I think they have giant margaritas for cheap. Their guacamole is also good and seems to be freshly made. Plus they have a cute patio to sit out on so for the drinks and guac I'll come here. read more

I was so sad when Jalisco closed, but elated when Mi Rancho opened up recently! We returned to the Mexican restaurant hoping it would be as good as Jalisco (our favorite Mexican place in the area). We were pleasantly surprised! In the time the restaurant was closed, it was remodeled and laid out a little better. The fresh paint, new table settings, and new menu are great. Everything about Mi Rancho exceeded my expectations. The service was great! The free chips and salsa were perfect. We didn't wait long for our food. The serving sizes are large-- you get a lot for what you pay. I would definitely recommend Mi Rancho. I beg to go there at least once a week! read more

You have to watch them we were over charged for our food. When I called to inquire about it the lady insisted they charged me correctly. We order burrito delgollago $10.50, nacho supreme $7.50, burrito California $9.99 and 3 soft drinks at 2.25 each. The subtotal is only $35.23 tax in Staunton is 11.5% which when add should not total $45.55 which is what we were charged. If you eat at this restaurant you need to watch what you are charged. read more
