2 Tacos (2)

My friend, step daughter and I came here for lunch just after noon and we got there just before the lunch crowd came. Very casual, chill place. There's indoor seating on the side maybe 5-6 tables but not very big. It looks like people usually got their food to go. I got the chicken bowl, my friend did 2 tacos, and my stepdaughter did the kids meal with cheese quesadillas, a drink, but we substituted a side of rice for the ice cream. The kids meal came with 4 quesadillas which were big! Great portions for just $8-9 for the whole meal. My friend is GF and she actually chose this place because of their menu, reported her tacos were really good as well. My bowl was super good! Everyone there was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back!

Be prepared to be addicted to Chicano Boy tacos. Hands down, one of the most flavorful and decadent taco options I've had. Casual cool vibe, service with a smile from everyone! Taco Tuesday should be everyday!

This place is a true local gem and we are so glad we stopped for lunch. I got the affordable yet large lunch taco plate with carnitas and the seasonal taco filling. My husband got the lunch burrito with beef, but he was enjoying it so much and so quickly I couldn't grab a picture. Had one bite of his, and I understood why. Generous portion and so delicious. My tacos were also great and almost overly stuffed. We got all of the salsas and it was fun to try each flavor they offered on chips and our tacos and burrito. They do a wonderful job here. Focused on providing great food from a small shop. Please stop in and give it a try. We were so happy we did!

Coming from the tri state area where taco joints are a dime a dozen, I wasn't sure what to expect here. To my surprise, the tacos were good. We tried shrimp, chorizo and chicken. The shrimp was interesting - more like a shrimp salad - but good nonetheless. Although small in size, they don't hold back on fillings but could provide more sauce, especially since they charge for it. We tried all the sauces and thought the spiciest was best. Outdoor seating is plentiful - which is good because seating inside is limited- it's an enclosed area with benches and umbrellas. A beautiful mural is the perfect background for those who want to post pics of their tacos.

This was my first time back in Staunton since 2020- the early pandemic days. And Chicano Boy was just as delicious as I remembered. I was happy to learn that the owners recently opened a pizza restaurant next door. Both places were packed and swarming with customers. The menu has been updated since 2020 but the food is the same quality. No tummy issues here! The portions are always satisfying and well worth the cost. Best Mexican in this area of the state.

Tasty and interesting food. I had the chorizo and potato tacos. My wife had the black beans and sweet potato tacos. Both were stellar!

The wait was longer than expected, and the service was below average, largely because the restaurant appeared busy and understaffed. There were other frustrated patrons having a similar negative experience waiting around as well. That said, the food was so delicious that I was able to overlook the frustrating pickup experience and still give Gloria's top marks. I honestly can't recall having better pupusas anywhere. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were full, and each dish felt homemade. I'm still thinking about it days later. A genuine word of warning: if Gloria's is your first stop in Staunton, you may not feel much motivation to try anywhere else for the rest of your trip. It sets the bar that high

Didn't get an opportunity to see the indoor section of the restaurant. The server was very friendly, but they were very busy and it did affect speed of service. In terms of beverages, I ordered horchata because I always order horchata. I have yet to meet a horchata I didn't like, and this was no exception. Sweet and delicious. I ordered birria tacos and a loroco pupusa. The birria was tasty and savory, as to be expected. Like most people, I dip my tacos in the broth because it's delicious. The loroco pupusa was really cheesy, which is a plus for me. All in all, this was a great place and I look forward to going back to try other items on their menu.

For my meal, I had the street tacos with both chicken and steak, served with rice and refried beans, along with pickled onions and radish slices. Everything was incredibly flavorful, and the portions were generous for the price. I also tried a collard green and cheese pupusa, which was something new for me since I've only had more traditional ones before. It was absolutely delicious and a unique twist that really paid off. They offer a wide variety of pupusas, so there are plenty of options to choose from if you're a fan or looking to try something different. I chose to sit on the patio, which had a really nice, relaxed ambience. Inside, they also have a bar area with Latin music playing that adds to the overall vibe. Between the delicious food, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices, this spot is definitely worth a visit if you're craving Latin American cuisine.

There was only one person working on the Monday I stopped by, but it was a busy place, and thus not the speediest service. Substantively, I found that my horchata was a strong, nutty beverage. They were out of a tamale that I wanted to order so I just got a bunch of pupusas, including typical options like bean and cheese but also the more distinctive collard greens. They came with an interesting curtido, a lightly pickled cabbage slaw that had a variety of ingredients. Overall, not a 100% smooth experience, but a good way to bring a distinctive flavor to the region.
