The asada and chicken have greatly improved in flavor and quality. Their rice and beans are rich in flavor and fresh every visit. The service is unmatched. If you get Maria as a server, you'll want for nothing. The staff is amazing, they love regulars. I'm in at least once a week to get my taco fix. Their carne asada and chorizo tacos are my favorite. Delicious every time. They do a great job of leaving the chorizo with a good crisp and not leaving it greasy. Their tomatillo sauce is not for the weak of heart, it has a good spicy kick. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you visit with them from 11-2 during the week, you can catch their buffet. I've had it several times. The food isn't overfilled in order to keep everything fresh. You can't go wrong with it. If you're passing through Mayfield or just craving a New Mexican restaurant, Los Amigos is the place for you!

After hearing about this elusive grocery store/hole in the wall restaurant from several people, my…read morefriends and I decided to give it a shot and it definitely didn't disappoint! The front of the store is jammed with fresh produce in a small fridge and a wall of assorted baked Mexican pastries. The rest of the storefront was squeezed full of different hot sauces and other snacks and drinks. The back of the place was where the food magic happens. The menu is stupid simple (and I mean this in a good way) I opted for the torta cubana that I've heard so much about and IT WAS THE BEST DECISION. I've never had bread like it---super pillowy and soft. The sandwich was stuffed and overflowing with Al pastor and asada and a questionable hotdog/ham love child. The sandwich was huge and I definitely left with a happy full belly. My friends ordered tacos and apparently there was nothing super special about those...it's probably still worth coming back for $1 taco Tuesday! All in all, give this place a shot if you're into those hole-in-the-wall experiences. You won't he disappointed!

Normally chicken enchiladas are my go-to. The cheese one was my favorite. My son is a taco fiend and ate his tacos with gusto, but he says he didn't really like them. [He's 10, who knows?] My husband got the fajitas and felt they were boring. We tried the guacamole and it was brownish. I'd recommend to the restaurant that they might do table-side guac so you could see it was fresh. We also had margaritas and they tasted mostly of sour mix.

Everything is made from scratch in the kitchen, which should come as no surprise once you dig in. Everything we had was homey, flavorful, and clearly made with love and intention. Pro tip: do not skip the fruit curry. What a smooth, unique, and flavorsome blend of sweet and savory. I loved everything that was on our table, but this dish was the most memorable. The service? Also phenomenal. Our server was so kind, patient, hospitable, knowledgeable, and empathetic. She was a gem. The setup is also charming, clean, cozy, and welcoming.
