Me and a few friends went here last Saturday night around 9:30pm, a late dinner since we had just spent the whole day at Lake Berryessa. This place is usually one of my favorites but Saturday night was not impressive at all.. First, we get seated and our waitress comes and takes our drink order. She comes back with the drinks and chips w/ salsa. The top layer of chips was the normal size chip, but under about 7-8 chips was a whole basket of crumbs, tiny little pieces. We asked the waitress for different chips. She brought back what we thought was new, fresh chips. Nope, another basket of a nice top layer and bottom of crumbs. We asked her again to get a DIFFERENT basket of chips. When she comes back- yup you guessed it! - another basket of CRUMBS! At this point we were like, WTF are you serious?! We call her over and tell her again(for the FOURTH) time, and she gives us some bullsh*t excuse about when they close they no longer serve chips. Alright, so when you close, the chips close too? Interesting.. So while we're waiting for the food, with NO chips and salsa because the chips are 'closed', I'm just looking around the place, and I glance up by the salsa bar and see OUR waitress laughing with a co-worker, and all of the sudden put both fingers up and flips her off while she laughs and bounces her fingers around. Uhh.. how unprofessional.. everyone could see. She was in clear view! Standing right in front of the salsa bar! We then get our meal about 15 minutes later. We all ordered a plate that came with rice and beans on the side. The beans looked like they had been sitting out all night, and the right looked and tasted dry! I said to my friends "this looks like the leftovers!" The waitress heard what I had said, turned around and was looking. DONT CARE, we got served what looked like what was sitting out left over. Disgusting. Didn't even finish my meal. Doesn't seem like they care too much about their customers when they get close to closing time. Came here during a visit with family on July 13 with family. There were 6 of us in total. My sister in law eats here quite often and said the food was good. I wish I could have said the same! I ordered the super burrito. The tortilla was a bit...mealy. The texture and flavors were very bland, especially the "red sauce" on the burrito. Both of my nieces had their orders wrong and one of them had it happen twice. I definitely wouldn't eat here again. This is Sonoma County for pete's sake! Step up your game, there are plenty places that serve amazing Mexican food for good prices. read more

Our food was very good!!! My husband and I shared an order of fajitas and guacamole and enjoyed them very much. The part of our visit that left a bad taste was our server, Sara H. We placed our order with her, someone else delivered it to the table but we didn't get two plates or tortillas. I tried to flag her down while she was chatting with a coworker but she wouldn't acknowledge me in spite of my repeatedly waving my arms to catch her eye. Other servers touched base with neighboring tables to see if they needed anything but we were somehow invisible. There are many Mexican restaurants in the area. I just wanted everyone to know that if your chicken enchilada comes to you 5 min after you order it then you should be very weary if you decide to eat it. I of course trusted that no one in the kitchen at a popular Mexican restaurant would let any food go out under cooked. But that was my mistake and I had to suffer the consequences. I woke up early the next morning feeling very sick and then soon after would not be leaving my bathroom for 6 hours!!! That was the first time I have ever had food poisoning and I pray it will be my last. Sad to say now I will not go back to this place people love so much because it has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

My family and I used to love this place but know not so much. I made a reservation for my family called and made sure it had been arranged and everything and they confirmed. I go in and sure enough they say that it will take us 40 min- 1hr to get seated. I told the lady in the front that i had already made a reservation. She said she was sorry but that that was the wait time applied to reservations as well. I was ticked. Why even bother to make a reservation if they arent going to hold their end of it. We ended up leaving and not going back. We will now go if its our last option but for now i am not stepping foot in that place. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible....Terrible service. Incredibly and constantly understaffed, inexperienced, slow, inattentive, service staff. If you get a male waiter or server, consider yourself lucky because the women are...slow, distracted and inattentive. The food is very good and so are the drinks from the bar. But whenever I'm there I often wonder why the hell I come back and put up with the piss poor service. It's a genuine love hate relationship. I originally gave it a 1/5 stars but just increased it to 2 because as bad as the service is, and it's super bad...the food is pretty good. one more time for emphasis, the service here is terrible. T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. Update: their service has improved significantly since my original post. Still a bit slow but nothing like it used to be. They have definitely increased their effort and it shows in an improved customer experience. One area that i would suggest is not having soccer on every television. First off, you should know that their policy is 6 or more automatic gratuity. Secondly, sodas and beverage refills cost extra. Thirdly, they don't honor website coupons unless they are printed(coupon contains no bar code). When I asked about their automatic gratuity, they said, "we're always busy, it's our policy so we don't really care". It was bad service. I'd recommend another Mexican joint. Great service, great salsa, AWESOME Margaritas and an even better super Burrito. They have such an awesome topping on their burritos. Guacamole, crema, and their pico de gallo is jam packed with jalapenos, onions, tomatoes and perfect blended on a perfect dish. I always crack for their macho burrito. And their prices for their portions can keep you fed for 2 days! I love this place. Cant go wrong! Im a Burrito Snob but their Carne asada/ Chili verde Macho Burrito is the best! I stop at Mi Ranchito every time I drive through Cotati. They serve one of the best margaritas I have had in a long time and the food is always good. I heard they are opening a new location in Sonoma and if the food and drinks are the same then I will be a regular customer. 5 stars! read more

My favorite Mexican food/restaurant around! They have a fun atmosphere and delicious food. I'm never disappointed and can always guarantee my food will be wonderful. When I have visitors I tend to bring them here if they want some good Mexican food. It can get pretty busy, especially Friday nights and weekends. Staff are friendly and they have pretty good prices too. A warning about Friday evenings, they have a mariachi band. This in itself is not a bad thing, but it can just be pretty loud because people have to talk louder over the music (plus it's usually super busy anyway). read more

We LOVE good Mexican food, and since moving to Sonoma County from southern CA, have found that this is one of the things that we miss a lot! So since the parking lot is always full (good sign, right?) we figured that we would give Mi Ranchito a try. First of all the place is LOUD! Not just full restaurant & bar loud, but add in a live band cranked up in volume to 11 LOUD!! No hope for dinner conversation, or even for our server to hear us - as evidenced by our meal... We got chips & salsa. They were pretty good & the warm enchilada sauce (mild salsa?) was really yummy! I ordered a chicken taco and chicken tamale meal. Hubby ordered a carne asada super burrito. Kiddo ordered a shredded beef taco. And then we waited in the din...and waited. About 20 minutes later our meals arrived - and EVERYTHING was CHICKEN!!! No carne asada, no shredded beef, only chicken. We called this to our server's attention, who seemed shocked that we didn't order all chicken, and apologized, but we were STARVING and getting headachy from the incessant, unrelenting NOISE, so decided to just eat what we got. It was fairly tasty, except for the tamale - which I usually love, but was awful! I don't know if they don't season their masa or their filling, or what, but it was just bland, pasty and awful. We left and chalked the poor dining experience up to eating out on a crowded Friday night. Fast forward a couple of weeks... Again craving decent Mexican food, we decide to give Mi Ranchito another go, but this time as take-out. Called in our order, but the background noise over the phone was really LOUD (notice a theme???), so I made sure to be very specific with our order and have the person read it back to me. We ordered a chicken super burrito, a carne asada super burrito and a vegetarian burrito, and were told it would be ready in 20 - 25 minutes, at 6:00p.m. However, when I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order at 6:25, it was only AFTER I had actually been charged and paid for it all that I was informed that there was some kind of "mix-up" and our order was never placed!!!!! For 30 minutes, I had the joy of the LOUDNESS, standing & waiting at the front, watching unsupervised children run around through the servers legs, while their MaMa got her drink on at the bar, courting the potential pool of candidates for next Step-Papa! Classy! So NOT the way I wanted to spend my time!! That's why we ordered Take Out!!!! Food was finally ready at 7:00. It tasted OK, but not so much compared with the repeatedly poor experiences. This is normally our favorite Mexican restaurant but today was not a good experience. We were there about 2pm and the restaurant was not at all busy but the service was very slow. After about 10 min I finally asked if we could have chips and salsa. It was the same amount of time to order drinks. The server seemed very distracted and not at all focused on his job. My husband ordered the steak fajitas the the meat was so tough it was like shoe leather. He couldn't even eat it. The server never came back to ask how our meal was and no refills on my iced tea. We sat there for a while after we finished eating and no server. I finally asked someone else for a to-go box as my meal was at least something you could eat. That was the only positive part of our visit. Eventually our server came back and I asked for the bill. I handed him a $40 gift card (the bill was $34 and some change) and a $100 bill and asked him to break it for some change for gratuity. He returns with $65 cash and no sign of the gift card. He takes off quickly so we had to flag him down (again) and ask where the rest of our $100 was and the gift card?! He then goes back to the register and returns with the receipt from the gift card that he obviously ran at point of sale. The kicker is he tells us "Oh, I don't know what happened, the gift card didn't work..." To which I said, well, obviously it did because you are giving me a receipt for the transaction using the gift card as payment. He acted like he had no clue and didn't seem to know how to explain what happened. He had to physically run the card and print out not one but two receipts from the gift card. Was he hoping we would have forgotten about the gift card and paid for our meal twice?!?! What the heck?! Everything about his actions seemed like he was caught in the act. A very shady experience and I am not in any hurry to ever go back. Very disappointed. read more

Best overall Mexican Restaurant in Sonoma County. PERIOD. I have eaten here roughly 50 times, and I have also had a dinner for 35 people in their back room recently. It was AWESOME. My girlfriend and I eat here a lot. -The food is PERFECT. Yes, you heard me. I said it. PERFECT. All of it. -The menu is HUGE. -The servers and bartenders are exceptional. I have had worse service in 4 star fancy restaurants in SF. -The atmosphere is FUN. There's music, there's sports, and even live music on certain nights. -The happy hour prices are great! If I could give 6 stars I would. Every time I eat Mexican food anywhere else I am disappointed. read more

Delicious food. Nice restaurant. We went on a Friday night and they had a Mariachi band. This was loud as it echoed throughout the restaurant, but if you enjoy the music then it isn't bad. They made a veggie fajitas for us. We also tried the veggie burrito. I never had broccoli in a burrito before, but it was very tasty for someone like us, who prefer veggies. The food is great- love their chips and salsa, enchiladas are delish, and the kids menu works for my 7 year old, which is always important for me to consider when picking a place to eat out. My biggest complaint about this place is the hostesses are not very friendly. I say this after we've gotten food to-go on a few occasions, and from the multiple times we've eaten here, they're always short and not welcoming. It honestly feels like they're being burdened when they need to do something. The service here is consistently good. The waiters are attentive and keep waters glasses full, food arrives quickly, and the wait staff is friendly. The music can be a little much at times. Pretty loud. Sometimes I'm here and they're playing Little John's "shots" on replay throughout my meal. I'm not at a club, I'm trying to enjoy dinner with my family, it's just not needed. read more

Been here a lot it is a hit or miss with service and food. Sometimes the food can be good but than others the food is just warm.sometimes we can spend like 30 mintues there waiting for the waitress to take our orders. Well with that I fill up on chips. The last time we where there we said if its good well come back but if it all bad we won't .They got lucky it was good but also not busy. But my mom order a Margarita and she was almost done and found a chip in the glass. They took it away and never got to Finished her drink. They didn't even bring her another or did nothing at all. So, this "Mexican" restaurant is called Mi Ranchito. It used to have a different name. However, unfortunately it still has the same horrible food. I ordered a "Purple Cadillac" and after waiting for my margarita forever, the waiter informed me that they were out of the Chambord. So I ordered a regular Cadillac, which was okay, but lacking in the tequila department. My husband's vegetable burrito was cold and did not have very many veggies in it. Isn't that the point of a "vegetable" burrito? My shrimp a la diabla contained strange tasting shrimp and a habanero heat scale sauce with a surprising lack of flavor. My kids ordered cheese enchiladas which contained very little cheese, and a chicken burrito which was deemed "okay." If people seriously believe that this is the "best Mexican food" in Sonoma County, than I give up- and if there is a decent Mexican restaurant in Sonoma County, I'd like to know where it is. read more

Took the waitress 15 minutes to seat us as she was busy chit chatting with co-workers. Took a couple of sips of her drink, pretended to glance over as if she's trying to figure out where to seat us, even though only two tables were occupied lol outside. We sat down, we're ordering, didn't have the slightest clue what "Vegan" "Gluten Free" and "Allergies" were! She kept saying, chicken no shrimp!!! Chicken no shrimp!!! You order chicken, no shrimp! While I understand I'm ordering a chicken plate, but wanted to see how bad cross contamination truly is at this place. She looked at me puzzled. Didn't know what "cross Contamination" was. From incorrect drinks to dirty dishes (3 times) filthy bathrooms, cold beans, (almost 30 minutes to get our food) and a new waiter with zero training or ability to connect, we will not be coming back! Victor was my server and he double charged my card. There wasn't any help from management when I brought up the matter after showing them my bank statement. Maria, was who was "in charge" at the time I went in to speak with a manager a day later, said that it may be a pending transaction but it showed that both transactions had gone through. I gave my contact information and she said that the restaurant would get back to me in two days. Later that day, Maria called me and stated that the information I gave her was wrong and that I was the one who indeed had the higher bill when I clearly remember signing only ONE merchant copy slip which happened to be the lower amount of the two. Clearly, they would do absolutely everything to not reimburse me for the extra charge on my card. I really enjoyed Mi Ranchito for many previous years but unfortunately will not be back due to how this matter was handled. Good thing Mi Pueblo is just down the street. read more

This place is mine and my husbands favorite Mexican Restaurant. We've been going there for a couple of years now. The food drinks and service has always been consistent and we always left very happy and satisfied. This time was very different. They told us to sit wherever, and then they ignored us. We watched 2 tables come in after us and they were served chips and salsa and their drinks while we sat there being ignored. Finally after waiting a little over 5 minutes someone finally brought us chips and salsa and took our drink order. When she brought our drinks to the table both of our waters glasses were dirty. We pushed those to the side and started drinking our margaritas. After 3 sips of my margarita I pulled out a large piece of plastic from the bottom of my margarita. That's when my husband got up to complain to the manager. The manager was very nice and understanding but our waitress had a major attitude with us for no reason. We are always nice to our servers and tip them 20%. Because of her we will not be back. She needs to be fired for the way she treated us! read more

I love this place, consistantly great Mexican food. Friendly service, often very busy because the food is great & the prices are low. My favorites are Carne Asada, Chili Rllenos, Enchaladas are delicious & they make muy bueno Margaritas. This was Mi Pueblito, they changed the name so as not to be confused with another local restaurant Mi Pueblo, but it is the same management. Try it, you'll love it. read more

OK I had to be honest and post my review, at least once a week I go this restaurant I spend at least 150 bucks every time me and my wife and kids or me and friends, last Thursday my kids,wife and me went to have dinner, as usual the hostess are distracted and they don't help you right away, I don't mind that as long the food and waitress service is good, well that was the problem We oder our food, in about 10 minutes we got it , I asked for my tortillas and the waitress said they were in the way, the clock continued it's course and no tortillas ever showed up I kept asking the waitress about it and she said they will be here any minute, Like it was nothing! This lady in her late 30's or early 40's wearing glasses seemed like she had enough and wanted to go home. On top of that I was being charged for a meal we did not order, the rice was over cooked like little pieces of rocks Probably it was just bad luck for me that night but I have go post what happen, honestly the food overall is good but the cheap service sucks, not coming back no more read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and sat outside. It definitely felt like they were under staffed as service was slow and tables stayed dirty. I ordered "lettuce tacos" which have butter leaf lettuce used at tortillas. Very messy to eat. They were Asian not Mexican. Good but not Mexican. There is a salsa bar inside but we weren't told that. Waitress charged our card for the wrong bill and it took several attempts to explain this to her for her to understand. read more

We've eaten weekly at Dos Amigos and decided we wanted to try somewhere else - just to see if there was anything better in town. As it turns out - there isn't. We tried Mi Ranchito as It's been a couple of years since we've eaten here and the parking lot is always crowded.. We should've waited a few more years! I feel like a drunken man married to a beautiful woman who went to bed with an ugly hooker. The blue corn tacos were inedible, and couldn't be cut even with a knife. The chicken enchiladas had zero sauce and a minuscule drop of cheese for seasoning. The salad was just as bad. The chips and salsa were good - as were the margaritas and water. They almost named this place correctly, but spelled it wrong: it should be called Mi Ranshit-O. read more

Accidentally ordered for the SR location on their website (tip: do not order online for Santa Rosa! Nowhere on their website do they indicate the online ordering is for Cotati only). Went to pick up my order only to be informed of the issue. They offered to refund me (great!) but then required I pay again at the Santa Rosa restaurant... Weird, but okay. No big deal. Then radio silence. No refund. Called multiple times - 6 to be exact - to ask for a status or update. Was told multiple times the person who handles the online system would call me back, then the manager was going to call me back. No one ever called. Finally called one more time and was told to call back again because they were busy. No consideration for a client's time who already spent multiple hours trying to resolve the issue. Ultimately, I had to file a claim with my bank. They lost my business. Highly recommend you avoid this location as the food isn't all that great to begin with, but they were close. read more

The tres amigas combo was really tasty with the three sauces. :) It is big enough to share or take home for another meal. The salsas are spicy :) and they have a nice salsa bar if you want to try other kinds. The service is attentive, and this restaurant gets busy as it is muy popular. read more
