The grilled steak was very well done and I had to use a knife and fork to cut it in pieces. The chicken tastes smoky and kind of stiff. You need to use a knife to cut it into pieces. The rice was very good with the beans. Very seasoned and somewhat salty rice. Everything is overly well done and steak and chicken are very thin and wide pieces. The whole interior reminds you of living in South America with the floor square tiles in orange like a bathroom. There are many red gated fences all over the restaurant. Seems like I'm in eating in Colombia. I did not feel like I was in America and the sky was very cloudy that day like in Colombia where it is gloomy and cloudy fogginess type of vibe. There is a lot of parking spots though.

This time around, I ordered the chicken soup, shrimp and potatoes empanada and a few Columbian snacks. The prices may be a bit higher, but the portions have not skimped in the slightest. The soup was pretty much 2/3rds chicken and in this economy? Not complaining at all. It even came with the lil cob of corn again! The shrimp and potato empanada was filled with fluffy potatoes and shrimp. Make sure you get the hot sauce to drizzle over. Its like cholula with actual heat and makes a great addition to the nada. Its still pick up and go. And service is quick and efficient. But still cannot recommend this place enough.

They had put them in the same box, even though they were ordered separately. Also only cane with one birria sauce, when ordered separately. When you do not want to share a dip with someone else, kind of inconvenient. The beef empanadas were nothing too crazy. Kind of average. The guacamole was heavily citrus flavored. I put it in my fridge and it didn't even turn brown after 2 days which I found odd for guacamole/avocados. The bean and cheese pupusa was okay as well. Nothing too amazing. I'd like to try other things next time.

The way the small bar is set up, because of the wall separating it from the dining room...it gives it an intimate vibe I really like. The ambient lighting and pleasing decor sets the mood to enjoy your choice of cocktails. We asked the bartender if she could make the cucumber margarita on the menu spicy? She obliged. Those drinks weren't as spicy or refreshing as we had hoped. We stuck with the classic margaritas for next round. They were just right! I'm not sure if themed weekends are a regular occurrence here. But this night was the final night of their Mango Madness Weekend. We were served plain nachos with a mango salsa dip. The Honey devoured it. I prefer my salsa with a red sauce and a bit of a spicy kick. I decided to give the steam mussels in a sauce with mango pieces, a try. I did not know this was the combination of spicy and sweet that I needed in my life!! We ordered extra bread and sopped up every last bit of it!! We made a point to tell the bartender how much we enjoyed it! We were grateful and disappointed, when she told us we had just eaten the last of it. Dang! We would have certainly asked for another order!! We left there giddy and satisfied. I wasn't even mad that I had to go back to work the next day! I keep thinking, how can we convince them to make the Mango Mussels a permanent menu item? Meet us there and let's discuss it over margaritas! Thank me later.....

He forgot our guacamole, which should've remained forgotten, since it was underseasoned and unremarkable. I was a bit shocked when we got the bill. The MP was $15, for the small, bland portion. Cubano quesadilla appetizer was good and substantial. Sangria was $35 and suffered from a serious lack of alcohol. My chipotle shrimp entrée didn't look like anything special, but tasted much better than it looked. My companions softshell crab taco special was good. The woman who came to our table who (was not the server) did not understand. the question asked to her about the bill, and as a result, gave an incorrect answer. Mostly Decent food (poorly presented) some overpriced items, indifferent service. This was my first time here and I'm not sure I would return.

Ordered two cheeseburger combos, one without cheese. Came out to around $27 for two small burgers with 0 toppings. One had cheese, and they just had ketchup..also came with fries and small drinks. Super expensive if I am honest, a lot of the toppings were also extra $ and the fries were super salty and very fried. The taste wasn't bad but it just didn't justify the price for me. I pay this type of money for a large combo meal in NYC. There was also a huge spider that ran on the floor towards a table lol. I am not used to seeing spiders this big but I am usually not in LI very often. (I didn't take the star off because of the spider, just the overall value of the meal and what we got for it)
