I only post this based on the Service and not the food. After stopping by Mi Querida I saw the the place was almost empty. Good news right? I was just planning an order 'to go' and walked up to the counter to place it. There was only one waitress so it took ten minutes of standing around before I could place an order. Big, first problem. So I place my order and tell the waitress 'I'll be seated outside for when the food is ready'. She responds 'ok great, outside'. So I go and sit at a rusty old table outside. Cut to 25 minutes later, still no food has been brought out to me. So I turn and look inside to see a 'to go' order sitting on the counter. Curious I walked inside to the waitress and said, 'is that my food?' 'Yes' she says. Having sat outside for the past half hour with no word the food was done I asked, 'how long has my food been sitting here?' She responds 'about 15 minutes.' I say 'So why wouldn't you come bring it to me outside like you said? I told you I was sitting out here. Why has my food been sitting here?' She respond by saying that's where they set to go orders and that she had to fill out other Uber orders and take care of customers. It takes 30 SECONDS to walk the food to me and tell me my order is ready. Instead she had NO PROBLEM letting me sit outside like an idiot for a half hour while my food sat getting cold inside. If you don't have the help... get more help. Because that was an obnoxiously poor excuse and a complete waste of my time. Will not be ordering there anymore. The food is pretty tasty. But the unprofessional and discourteous staff makes it a quick 'pass' for me. read more

I ordered one of the traditional dishes and it was so good. I love their food. I didn't have a problem with service and it was very quiet when I visited. I also got the fish with garlic shrimp and that tastes great as well. The food is flavorful and reminded me of my visit to Medellin. The cake I tried was hard and dry though so I don't recommend the caramel cake. I will come back because I really enjoyed the flavors. read more

Very upset. Made order over phone per the menu on enternet. Called to ask how many people would the seafood rice feed and what was in it. The girl couldn't even tell me. She asked someone else and they said crab, shrimp, clams and octopus. And that it was allot of food that would feed 2 people. So I ordered 2 at 13.95 and 6 chicken empanadas at 1.50. she told me I had to pay for it because it was a seafood order over the phone I had no problem doing that therefore I move forward but she charged me $45. At the time I didn't think anything of it but with my nephew came back with the order. He said such little bit of food for $45. I saw that it was very little I mean it was clearly meant for one person only. Not only that I didn't see any clams and the crab was imitation. Quickly added up the totals and realize that I was overcharged. Called the restaurant and they said that it was 16. 99 for each seafood rice and 1.60 for the empanadas each. Long story short they would not give me a reimbursement. They told me that they didn't know how to do it. I asked for a cash refund and refused that as well. My friend recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try. It's in the same plaza as Old Time Pottery. We went Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly but too slow. The food was served cold except for the yucca. It seemed like they cooked this at noon and kept it outside for 2 hours to be reheated if anyone ordered it. And it was not cheap either. At $20 for this dish, you would think it would be served to temperature and made fresh. The meat was hard as nails, the chicken was dry as was the black sausage. The water juices were good but at $3 I thought they were a little pricey for the location. As far as "service", I had to get up to the counter to get napkins and then again to get condiments because our waitress did not return. Another waitress came to take care of our check who seemed to be on top of things, at least. Just don't go here. read more

The manager told me that they stopped accepting the certificates about six months ago because Restaurant.com had scammed them. I told him that the gift certificate didn't have an expiration date and he refused to honor it. We were hungry and ordered the tamales. When they finally arrived, they were cold inside. Bad service and mediocre food that was way over priced. we visited at lunch on Sunday and the restaurant was about half way full. No one greeted us. We sat ourselves and about five minutes later someone brought us menus. We ordered our food and the taste was average. We ordered salads with the meals but were never told we had to serve ourselves until I asked about them. The meat was fatty and very chewy with the meal with the strips of steak. (I can't remember the name). They were served on a bed of French fries that were soggy from the sauce of the dish. We had to ask about the dessert that was supposed to be included with the kids meal and the server looked at me like she was confused. We had to go to the counter to ask about our check and when we paid the tip had automatically been added to our bill. (We only ordered 4meals for 5 people). Maybe that is why they don't care about service since they add their own tip to the checks. So disappointed to not be able to have a good Colombian restaurant on this side of town. The only Colombian restaurant in ocoee near winter Garden. It's is delicious. You must try the Sancocho de Costilla. It is a hearty soup to die for. The staff is very friendly and remember your name. This is the third time if not more that we came after work trying to get some empanadas and pandebonos to bring home but unfortunately like other times, they ran out of all products; we asked what happened they said we should call ahead of time to make an order. This is the first Colombian bakery/restaurant that don't expect to have nothing ready for customers after 5:00pm. We came here for breakfast. It was my wife and kids who came. The menu was simple. At first I wasn't excited about the limited options but after ordering, the meal was absolutely delicious. The arepas and cheese were amazing and the scrambled eggs were well seasoned. My kids got the chocolate milk as a substitute to the coffee -- I had a sip of it and wow, I wanted to drink it all, lol. It was seriously that good. I write this review because I was stunned it had poor reviews. We almost didn't come but the price was too good to not try and honestly, the value far exceeded the cost. This is the worse experience I ever had,I was there for dinner last night with my daughters for the first time I ordered whole fried fish I served little bit for my daughter I give it to her with rice, then when I start eating I find out that it was still frozen and very raw from inside, I called the server , she apologized and she want to change it, I told her to give arepas instead, she came back to me 5 min later she said that the owner wants me to pay the fish that I didn't eat just because I took some form it for my daughter (like 2 bites from the top )and they're not going to charge me for the arepas because it was only $5 and the fish was $17 so they let me pay for something I didn't even eat , what a shame !!! is it that how you welcome in you customer??? it was very unprofessional and i would never ever go back there.and I won't recommend it to anybody. read more

Keeping with tradition of the small colombian restaurant ,with a small yet comfortable setting it is very clean and still has alot of room. The bakery being incorporated is my problem...not because it's there but because it's smells so delicious that I can't help buying more food. The food is up there with the best of them. For me the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not the fifth was the location but that's a personal thing just do to where I live in relation to the distance. I highly recommend this. read more

I was done eating and the server took my plates and I waited almost 20 minutes for my check. I had to finally ask them for my check. They knew I was done eating so why not bring me my check? Did they think I just wanted to sit there by myself? My total was $19.99 and I paid. I thought it was a little high but, didn't think much of it. Then when I left I realized that what I ordered was suppose to cost $10.95. After adding one beer and tax my bill shouldn't have been that high. They overcharged me. Service is mediocre, but it's probably the owner's or manager's fault. They hire cute young girls without any training on food service. To me, service is just as important as food quality to run a successful business. The waitresses provide a reactive service, have no initiative, and give conflicting messages when answering questions about the menu. The table next to me had to modify their order 3 times because the waitress kept confusing them. This was my second time there, will be the last. This is the first time in my life I felt out of place in a "Hispanic" restaurant. Born and raised in Puerto Rico I was raised to respect all of my compadres Latinos. So there is absolutely no trace of the I am better than you mentality regardless of how my family and I were treated in this establishment. This was our second time in mi querida Colombia. To begin we did not have enough menus. My wife asked the young lady for extra menus and she brought them after a 15 minute wait. She took our food order and we waited for more than 30 minutes as we notice other customers that arrived after us receiving and enjoying their meal. She came back to our table and told us this story of how one of our plates was not done properly and asking "it will take about 10 more minutes, do you wait to wait or do you want to leave". Really?? We decided to leave, thank you querida Colombia for wasting our time and not apologizing for our wait. The food is good, but the service could use an upgrade. It was early afternoon on a Saturday when we visited (family of four), and there was 1 other dine-in couple and a few take out customers. It was very slow as far as traffic and the service was also very slow which isn't a good combination. The coffee was some of the best I've had. For the price, I'd say it's worth visiting, but the waitress I had didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the menu items. And some of our food took way too long to be served. They brought out food as it was ready, but I ordered tostones and was almost done with my meal and hadn't received them, so I canceled them. I usually come here for their baked goods. They are always soft and taste fresh. I recently visited this place to dine in. My girlfriend ordered a dish that is suppose to have chicharron, sausage, and steak along with rice, beans and an egg. The waitress told her that they had run out of fried pork, which was really all she craved, she got extra avocado to replace it. I got the special of the day which was suppose to be a soup and a plate of meats on the side. Its wasnt busy that day but steady. But our food took forever to come. More customers came in and ordered but no food was being served. 40 minutes after the waitress took our order. Our food arrived. The soup was cold, the side of meats that came along with it was cold. My girlfriend was really frustrated because we waited so long and her dish was also cold. The waiter told me that it would take only a couple minutes to heat up the soup but my girlfriend insisted going somewhere else even when she was starving. She would rather wait some more somewhere else then eat THEIR cold food. LOL. We told the waitress our food was cold and we waited too long so we were only going to pay for the drinks. She seem okay with it. I dont know how a columbian shop is okay with serving cold food. Ive gone to many other columbian shops and we were never served cold food. A big dissappointment. read more

I've come to this restaurant just for the empanadas and today I decided to try the food. To my surprise, it was absolutely terrible. They took a long time to bring out the food and when they did it was fully cooked and extremely cold. The server started chitchatting and talking on the phone when her friend came in and failed to stopped by to ask if everything was okay. I would give this restaurant a MINUS 5 stars if I could! OMG!! In the many, many years I've dine out I have never,ever,ever, had a worse experience than this one!! It all started with having to wait 15 minutes for a soup I ordered. I wouldn't of minded the wait that much if our server was not counting her tips and then eating and mindlessly talking with the other servers instead of checking on my soup. Once I finally got the soup, I found a hair in it and was immediately turned off. I wanted to tell the server, but she never returned to check on us. I wanted to leave at this point, but it was around 3pm and I had no breakfast or lunch so I was famished. After another 15-20 minutes our main entree finally came out. We ordered what is called the "Bandeja Paisa", Columbia's typical dish. Well, the order was not as we asked for it. First, we asked for green plantains instead of yellow, but they claimed they had run out of the green ones (I then saw another table get served green plantains), second, there was no avocado with the meal as its suppose to and the server stated that the avocado was not ripe, third, the beans were missing. I asked the server for a salad to replace the avocado and she went to get those two things. Five minutes later she comes out with the salad, but no beans still. I like my rice with the beans so I was becoming very upset now because my food was getting cold, I was starving and couldn't eat my food how I wanted it. So she goes gets the beans and puts in on the table and starts to walk away without asking if there was anything else we needed or if my husband who was already eating was liking his food. I had to call her and ask if there was any salad dressing since she didn't offer any. She never checked on us again. I was so furious I couldn't eat but a couple of bites. We asked for our check from another server. When she brought the check I noticed that the soup that I didn't eat because it had a hair in it had not been taken off the bill. I pointed that out to her. Folks, following is the reason why I said that has been the worse experience of MY LIFE!!!! As the owner approches our table, my husband and I expected an apology for our terrible experience and possible a discount. NOPE, not even close to what happened!! The owner instead tells us that once the food is served we have to pay for it!!! What the heck?!!! I told him I've never heard of such a thing. I reminded him that I didn't eat the soup, but he didn't care. He kept insisting we had to pay the full bill. I'm sorry to say, but I was so furious I had to just leave. Folks, I am not even going to say that the food was the worse I ever had (a hair in the food can happen anywhere), the service and the owner's attitude however were!! Don't patron this place. i ate at the restaurant on Saturday with my family. we ordered 2 burgers which were uncooked. we told the manager, he came back to the table and said he took off 20% and that he doesn't own the restaurant and cannot take off the entire meals. after telling him we will not pay for uncooked food and to charge us for what we ate, he took it off and charged $6 for 2 fries that the kids did eat. the waitress was wonderful. They added 15% to the check probably thinking we will not tip. Well he shorted the waitress her tip because we always leave 20%. it wasn't her fault the food was uncooked and the management didn't know how to handle the situation. I was there for dinner and purchased several bakery items to take home as well. So I didn't notice a severe overcharge. Besides that, the food was not tasty at all. What happened to the Columbian spices? The menu price for the steak I ordered was $17.99, but what I received was a small thin piece of steak with no taste. That came with rice and tostones. First we had to wait over 5 minutes and sit ourselves..I had my granddaughter and she was a bit fussy because she was hungry...still waiting and no one came to greet us..I had to wave a waitress over..the place wasnt even busy so I don't know why it took so long to get our waitress...We finally order our food and it was cold and tastless...I ordered one soda and one juice for my grandbaby..well the waitress never bothered to come and check up on us and see if we needed refills..finally we got through our hard and chewy meal ..Now I only went to this place because I got a Groupon voucher to use..I ordered 26.00 worth of food and one soda and one juice so it should have been a little over 30.00..my voucher was for 26.00 so I was more than happy to pay the difference for my soda ,juice and tax..should have been 4.00 or 5.00 more but NOOOO it was 12.00 !! WTH ??? I get charged a surcharge of 1.68 because I used Groupon and the poor excuse of a waitress actually tipped herself 5.00!!! She couldnt explain why I was being charged for using a Groupon voucher ( Now Ive used Groupon many times and have NEVER been charged a Groupon fee for using them) and the service was horrible! I told her to take off the tip and Groupon fee...she took off her tip but wouldnt take off the surcharge ..I was SO angry I left NO TIP and normally I wont do that even when service is bad but this place was horrific..DON'T GO HERE!!! read more
