We called over a month ago after receiving a settlement check from a bank up north, for an Amazon lawsuit. The woman we talked to then said they'd cash it once my partner had valid photo ID. He didn't have it right then because we were stuck in a three month long period of waiting for a DMV appointment to open up when I was not working and we could make it. He didn't have a valid ID prior due to a legal name change earlier this year. That date for the DMV happened to be less than two weeks ago. The paper ID was turned away everywhere we went as it wasn't considered valid, so we waited some more for the real one to come in. It arrived Tuesday of this week, during a busy at work, when I would be unable to take time away to drive down to Round Rock (we live in Jarrell) for my partner to cash this check. Today, finally, we got to the store, which we went to only after Speedy Cash had told us they couldn't do it due to the check being dated back in May (issued May 3rd, void on July 3rd). Called Ace before I headed there and was told, again, they'd cash it. Arrived and to my complete lack of surprise once more we had been openly lied to. They said it needs 10 business days to clear and they wouldn't do it with only 6 available before it expired. They could make an exception, sure, but we're not worth the risk. This was money for rent. It was money for food. That settlement check was for lost wages and it's going to expire now. We literally can't cash this check anywhere and I am very frustrated with even trying this place to begin with. I would absolutely NOT recommend them and I'll be passing this on to everyone I know. Thanks for nothing, y'all. Not surprised with the other ratings. I found it funny there were 5 star reviews stuck up on the wall inside when the service is a clear 1.

At first the change of a few staff members was hard to say goodbye to some great people, but the new crew and management (Rasheedah) were just as kind and always willing to spend the extra time to help in any situation. The tellers (Ruth and Hazel ) are truly family. They greet me by name every time, they know my kids names and ask about the health and well being of my family. Recently, as we are going through the battle of Covid 19 many small businesses are being negatively impacted and it is one of the scariest moments in my life. The young lady helping us stated the metal was not testing as gold and showed it swaying wildly in front of a magnet and that the "diamonds" were testing as white sapphires and she doesn't know what kind of metal the stones are set with. When my husband loudly stated to call the original jeweler that authenticated the bracelet and I said I planned to, all if a sudden a more mature gentleman walked up. He took the bracelet from the young lady, briefly looked and said it was in fact real gold and real diamonds and proceeded to train the young lady in proper magnet testing...which is ludicrous, they should be scratch testing with a special solution to test the purity. What a joke, avoid this place at all costs.
