We were seated quickly in a spacious dining room, and our waittress brought our chips/salsa & drinks almost immediately! The White Queso is thin, but it always is - in every Mexican food place. I loved the Three White Enchiladas; I chose 2 chicken & 1 beef enchiladas - with beans. At only about $7, this tasted great and filled me up! Bargain! My wife enjoyed the Quesadilla Relleno Special; chicken & shrimp quesadilla, with rice, beans, and guacamole. The guacamole was the only low point in our meal (they need a new recipe). Very interesting building right on square. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Large variety menu. I do not favor Mexican food but enjoyed the meal. My family all liked their choices. The chicken chimichanga was flavorful, rice well done with good flavor. Enchiladas were good, needed mole. The variety plates were good. It had the consistency of baby food and about the same flavor. The chicken and rice covered in cheese sauce could have been safely served at any retirement home. The food didn't taste bad, but it certainly did not excite the taste buds. The prices were very low which I appreciate in a tourist town. The location is great, the building was adequate, the service was good, but the food is completely inadequate. It had absolutely no flavor whatsoever! like eating wax. The supposed fajitas were some scrambled mess of onions and tomatoes and a tiny bit of some flavorless meat. Without any doubt the worst excuse for fajitas I've ever had. I hate giving bad reviews but this place deserves it. they need to fire whoever is cooking and hire someone who knows what seasonings are for. Oh, and learn what fajitas are supposed to be!!! We ordered carryout and it was quick, affordable, and gave generous portions. The food was hit or miss though. The carnitas were really good and the queso and salsa were pretty good. The rest wasn't great, but nothing was awful. The guacamole appears to have no seasoning, the chicken in my enchilada was really dry and lacked flavor, and the fajitas were overly salty. For a quick, simple meal it is ok, just don't expect a lot of flavor. read more

Well the chips and drinks were good. My 9 year old son went in to have dinner on Friday evening. No many people were there. I ordered enchilada rancheros my son wanted an order of tortillas (he is very picky.)Well I got a bad feeling when another waitress came by to ask what my son wanted again. Stopped for a quick lunch. 2 simple orders. I could plainly see all on the menu the upcharge for the cheese sauce, I ordered it as it was on the menu, no change and 2 waters. We were charged the extra for the cheese sauce and a soda...the server paid no attention. She was nice enough, but...we will probably be back because it was good!! read more

Great Value. Chips and Salsa were exactly what I expect from this type of restaurant. They use a white cheese instead of orange so beware of that if it matters to you(or more likely your children).. the ground beef contains whole beans, peas and corn kernels but they are sporadic. The shredded chicken has green chilis. I have a very picky family so detailed reviews are always helpful! I ordered the Special Dinner for $9.50.I was extremely happy with it. My favorite is probably the baked potato! It has bacon, sour cream, cheese dip, butter, and of course ur choice of fajita meat on a huge potato that's been skinned and cut into bite size chunks. Food was good. The main issue per the state guidelines you could have 10 people sitting together during the COVID-19 epidemic. Our waiter had seated us together and this young lady, possibly an assistant manager, came out and starting arguing with him about the seating. Being a manager myself, she was very unprofessional. If you have an issue with an employee you never do it in front of the customer. You take them to the side. That being said she needs some training and needs to understand the state guidelines so there is no confusion. read more

HOWEVER, when we asked our waitress for extra guacamole and pico, even though we were fine with the extra charge, she copped a really immature pouty attitude. When I received a refill I was told they would have to charge me for anymore lemon even though 3 of our party had requested no lemon. I will not be going here again. We asked to sit outside...the hostess gave us the menues and directed us to seat ourselves. Bad idea to sit outside, what started as a mild anouance of flies turned into an all out battle over our food when it arrived. Our server was very nice, I've nithing bad to say about him. For a place that looks so charming, this place is "el bland." The fajitas pueblitos had a swamp of queso blanco -- but not actual Mexican queso blanco but something closer to Velveeta. There was 1/8 lb of chewy beef -- perhaps the hoof meat of a cow. The mushrooms served on top were still ice box cold. Tortillas, chips and salsa were better. We are from Houston, Texas (probably the Mexican food capital of the world). We have eaten at tons and tons of Mexican restaurants and this was at the top on food quality! I had the chicken fajitas and they were very reasonably priced and delicious! The rice and beans were seriously delicious (believe me, these sides are sub par at many Mexican food places.) The flour tortillas were so good! I ordered ice water and even their water was good! Whoever cooked our meal is amazing! You gotta eat here! read more
