Me and my guest ordered the Salmon Salad and it was delicious. A large piece of seasoned grilled salmon with tomatoes, cucumbers, and avacado over a bed of greens. The vinegarette dressing was made on site. The salad came with a side- 3 pieces of cheese bread. The other guest ordered a philly sandwich which was served on a soft sandwich roll and included homemade cole slaw. She said they both tasted good. They also make fresh Cinnamon rolls. Sage our waitress was quick to take our order and checked with us a few for our needs. We topped a great meal with ice cream cones. Cold roasted coffee was unbelievable(served piping hot)! I really have never had such a good cup before. I grind my beans daily...but they made up their own bean blend, and they grind daily(it was just better). Service was top notch...seemed like a close knit group of employees. Breakfast was delicious and reasonable. I got there 14 minutes after opening, and was the 8th table sat. Locals loved the place. read more

Cozy place. Touch of Class in decor. Love the hardwood floor. Clean and neat place. I had breakfast, simple, and they did good job in making my two over-easy eggs, hash brown, and sausage links. Sage, my server, had everything executed in a timely manner and to order, which gives them high marks in my book. I am from out of town, however, I do visit Mountain View frequently. I will be coming back for sure. I recommend that you give them a visit. read more

This is a great place! We had a wonderful breakfast this morning. I had the egg, cheese and sausage sandwich and it was delicious. My husband loved his biscuits and gravy. The service could not be better! The ambiance is very nice and they make homemade scones, cookies and cinnamon rolls! We can't wait to go back! read more

This new place is fabulous! Very cute inside, though I got a to-go order. The order was faster than expected and flawless. The reuben is the best in town- second only to the Guion General Store, but barely. The Asian Chicken Salad- thank you! We need more healthy, unique alternatives and this is perfect! Flavorful, light, but filling. I love it! The homemade dressing really makes it. The side slaw was great- not over mayonnaised like most, and very pretty! read more

We've been traveling all over and nothing beats the Rusty Cup. So good we had to stop by multiple times while we were in town. Owner is super friendly and makes you feel at home while dining in. Comforting dining experience and the food was absolutely delicious! If you go you have to get the biscuits and gravy! End your meal with a couple scoops of some cookies and cream ice cream and you'll be all set. All the staff is interactive and friendly, all of the food thats made from scratch is amazing, and they have a gift shop and all types of coffee. Will definitely be back when we're in town again! read more

Cute little restaurant. I got the breakfast burrito which came with salsa and I loved it. They were able to accommodate putting avocado in place of the ham which I appreciated. My friends all got the build your own omelet. You can add as many items into the omelet as you like. It was busy when we went but the servers were still very attentive. We visited Mountain View for the fall Bluegrass Festival, 2023. Our first restaurant to visit was the Rusty Cup on Friday morning. They weren't excessively busy (about half full, and it's a small restaurant), but the waitresses weren't real concerned about serving their customers in a timely fashion. Once our waitress did come over, we found that you cannot special order bacon. My wife prefers bacon that is not crunchy. They advised that they cook all their bacon first thing in the morning and they serve it all day long, until it runs out. --WHAT?-- So much for eggs and bacon. Wife wound up ordering a pancake that was barely edible with the water/syrup. My eggs and sausage were ok at best. Waitress never brought coffee or even asked if we wanted any. She also never checked on us. After eating, the waitress never brought our ticket so we went to the register to pay. They had to find our waitress to get the bill. This is the second time in my life that I did not leave a tip, and zero was too much for them. That night we went to PJ's Rainbow Cafe. It was GREAT. Super service and great food. Rusty Cup waitresses need to get training from PJ's. read more

Cute little cafe on the courthouse square. Very nice people. My only regret is that we got there too late for breakfast. We gout the club sandwich and a mountain burger. Both were excellent. read more

It's been a while since I've been through such a train wreck at a restaurant. We ordered our food at 9:45. At 11 the waitress came out to tell us we needed to change our order because they were out of eggs and biscuits. We ended up with pancakes and bacon which (as a side note, were quite good). The kicker was the way it all was handled. read more
