The Mex fare in Cd'A is as you'd expect. It's not bad, but it's certainly not memorable. Enter...Mi Jalisco. This family is not afraid to use spices. Nothing glaringly overpowering, but way above what we've grown to expect in this town. Seems to be Mom and Dad on the plancha, and a son on the cash register. It's not a big place, tucked in a strip business area off of Gov Way, but it is pretty popular judging by the folks coming in/out for to-go dinners. One thing of note is they close at 6PM on days they're open, and that can make it tricky for dinner diners. I don't think they'd turn anyone away at 5:50PM, but I for one would never feel comfortable rollin' in right before they close. That is their business model, and it's cool with me. The food is absolutely delicious--by the way--and very affordable for 2024...

Absolutely blown away by mi Jalisco. Been here 4 years and haven't tried it till today. The man and woman were super friendly, prob some of nicest staff I've met at any restaurant in the inland north west. I went with a carne asada burrito and taco de tripas, asked for it extra crispy. Spot on with flavor, with the right amount of blend of rice, beans, meat, onion, and cilantro. I went with their spiciest salsa cause every place around doesn't have anything that kicks and this one had a bite! Overall, this is prob the closest you'll get if you're looking for traditional Mexican street food, not the typical Mexican food your Californians around here think is Mexican food like el torito. This place is authentic af F!

We arrived at 12:30 during busy lunch rush, but was seated immediately and a couple of salsas and pico were dropped off right away, followed by our drink order. I always get the Shirley Temple. For my entree, I ordered the Fish Tacos, and my roommate ordered a combo plate of 2 enchiladas (asada and ground beef) and 1 taco (ground beef). There were several large parties dining as well and I definitely thought we'd be waiting awhile, but NOPE. Food arrived timely and prompt and plates were nice and hot. I absolutely loved every part of my meal. The fish was grilled perfectly and was still juicy and tender and wasn't overly seasoned. I enjoyed that they keep their fish tacos simple and not loaded up with a bunch of toppings. I prefer the fish to be the star of the taco and today it was! The green crema sauce they serve with the tacos had a good fresh citrus taste and complimented the tacos well. The cheesy beans and rice were spot on and liked how the beans were a bit thinner at this location. My roommate said his combo plate was great and thought the ground beef was of quality and had awesome flavor. Service was outstanding. There wasn't just 1 server--it was a team of servers, who all did a great job with refills on drinks without being asked and checking on us after our food arrived. We'll definitely be coming back to this location.

Very disappointed. Cabbage salsa was dry and only tasted like cabbage. No lime added or wet added. The margarita mix in my margarita was terrible. I had the #13 taco & tostada w/ chicken. The chicken was very dry. I get trying to cut costs, but you've cut quality. We'll try one more time. Most patrons don't have a problem w/ the price, as long as quality stays the same. It hasn't.

When we walked in, the place was pretty busy and the live soccer game was on their TVs. Not only was the vibe poppin', the decor was just as bright and festive. The restaurant isn't huge so when it's busy, it can get a little tight. There isn't table service so you place your order at the walk-up counter. They had their menu super-sized and it took up an entire wall! It's always nice to be able to clearly see the menu. I got 2 fish tacos and an order of cheesy nachos. My roommate got 3 carne asada tacos. Even though it was busy, it didn't take noticeably long for our food to come out, which was positive. At a glance, the fish tacos looked good. However, at $3.50 per taco--I felt the filet was pretty thin. The ratio of fish to tortilla was more tortilla than I prefer. The taste of the fish was okay and lacked flavor in my opinion and I didn't care too much for the crema it came with. That's where the salsa bar comes in! I liked how I could try each of their salsas without wasting an entire sauce cup. The habanero salsa was nice and spicy and the guac had a blended consistency with decent flavor. I was excited to try the beans but in the end, I felt they were bland and lacking season. I was pretty disappointed the salsa bar didn't have pickled veggies either. The cheesy nachos were good, as long as you ate them fast enough before the cheese cooled down. If there was any suggestion, I would make the nachos a blend of nacho cheese and actual shredded cheese to give it that extra texture and flavor. My roommate said his carne asada tacos were decently good, but also thought it lacked flavor. In general, our first visit was a bit underwhelming considering the overall lack of flavor we both agreed on and for the price we paid--basically 5 street tacos and cheese nachos came out to 27 bucks.

That being said, service was very good. That's the high point. The WINGS were a disappointment. They were akin to Costco's precooked wings, but these were all about presentation versus good taste. Try not petrifying the meat would be a good start. I had one of the hamburger plates. I really liked the fries. These were well prepared. The hamburger on the other hand was lacking any uniqueness or even quality beef. So if you are one of those people that believes a hamburger should be a culinary experience, this is not the dish you want to get here. Okay, I hate to be the negative Nelly, but the worst part of the upscale experience was the crescendo of noise. It crept up on you as the lunch crowd moved in. It was seriously hard to communicate at your own table. The decor offers little to no sound mitigation. Seriously, consider acoustic tiles. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Prices were fair, given our current economic conditions.
