If you're not looking for it you're gonna miss it. This place has become such a sweet little spot for me to get the easiest lunch at a very decent price. Salvadorian cuisine is something I've never experienced before but was super excited to try. This little mom and pop shop is def worth a try! read more

Pupusas pretty good. Horchata the best damn ever SOOOOOO SOOO SOOOOO good like amazingly great probably my favorite in LA TBH. If I could Id drink that big ol $7 around that price cup everyday, I'm literally writing this review solely because of their Horchata. The place up the street north on Union actually has some really bomb self made horchata too like really bomb, BUT, this place right here, this place right here has like the BEST EVER horchata I'd be hard pressed to find better. want some now dammit sooN!! Please sell gallons could you just already and deliver??? :D read more

I absolutely love this place, my favorite pupusas. Cash only but they have an ATM. Always hits and is now the only place I go for pupusas!

Ridiculous expensive food (3.50) for 8 oz cup of Jamaica 2.50 for small pupusa They charge more than 10% taxes Paid 9.75 for 2 pupusas and a cup of water Bad service Definitely my first and my last time here! read more

Fantastic food and friendly service. I had the pupusas revueltas y frijoles y queso. Both fantastic. Highly recommend. I'll absolutely be returning read more

Mi Flor Blanca is El Salvadorian restaurant in USC territory. There's street parking out in the front. It's a humble place. The hostess didn't speak English but not to fear. My lunch partner came to my aid, and of course, I used my non verbal communication skills, including hand motions and facial expressions. I had the grilled shrimp, which came with large perfect avocado pieces. They almost looked artificial. It comes with rice, but I asked for salad instead. It was delicious. My lunch partner ordered a large drink with copious fruit pieces. I don't know what it's called, but I've never seen it before. The cheese pupusa came with pickled cabbage and salsa. It had a unique flavor. read more

Pupusas you say?! I have been coming to this place for years! This place is situated on a up-and-coming row of small USC restaurants for students. Not your typical meal for students but the surrounding neighborhood has been coming to this place for years like me. First, the food here is fresh, 90% of about everything is made to order and you cant almost go wrong with any option you pick from their many options in the menu. Obviously the pupusas is their biggest seller and when you order one you will know why. Also, the staff here are friendly, very helpful and after times of coming they get to know your name and always welcome you. Maybe a little wait at times depending how busy it is upon your arrival but either way their service is great. I would recommend ordering a pupusas and an Horchata ( not your Mexican style horchata that you may be used to) and you are set for lunch, dinner or whatever meal you wish. Stop by this place and try it out, you cant go wrong here. They also do pickup orders and pupusas are easily eaten and reheated at home. I will definitely be back to this place! read more

While there's a set of new trendy restaurants popping up, it seems that Mi Flor Blanca has been doing something right, as it has stuck around for a long time. This review is for the Pupusas, which are great. I really enjoyed that they weren't greasy, and full of the stuffed toppings. I look forward in trying the other typical appetizers and dishes in the future. read more

Quite often visited and loved probably the best quality establishment around the USC restaurant, Bacaro LA http://www.yelp.com/biz/bacaro-la-los-angeles, however never decided to stop into the Salvadorian restaurant nextdoor which always looked appetizing. I wanted something quick, cheap and small proportioned, so I gutted for a dinner snack papusas. Real central american place and no one there speaks A WORD of ENGLISH. But no worries, my high school spanish kicked in like a superhero, which resulted with looks of confusion by the person behind the counter, pointing, mispronunciation and finally an order :) I asked for the recommended pupusas, so I ordered PAPUSA REVUELTA, a mixed meat, cheese and possible other findings and the PAPUSA DE LA...FLORA? Some type of flower with cheese. I also went for some kind of fruity Salvadorean orange drink freshly made (ENSALADA FRUTA) that was really good especially if it were a hot summer day. The pupusas came within 10 minutes with sacuy sour cabbage and some type of thick sweet and sour sauce. I dumped loads of the cabbage on as the pupusa was a bit bland. In addition, I was expecting crispy outside and juicy cheesy insides with savory meat. However the papusa was a bit doughy all around, no spice tasted in the bread or inside for the matter. The papusa revuelta was pretty good, however wish it were meatier and more savory. The other papusa with flower was overly cheesy, quite bland and tasteless. Not sure if I would come back and try other main course dishes, although does look quite appetizing. Would rather hop next door to Bacaro. read more

Surrounding Mi Flor Blanca is Bacaro LA, Nature's Brew (same owners as the Bacaro), and Ebaes in the same block and Pete's Burgers not too far out and other nearby restaurants are 23rd Street Cafe and Lucy's much further up on Hoover. Until recently, I haven't had Mi Flor Blanca since there's so many other spots I've eaten at. It's not bad and I like small mom-and-pop type of shops. The server I see there often does not speak English, but it's easy to point on the menu and I get to try pronounce some of the words on the menu and eventually I learn how to say it right. When I have Salvadorian food, I usually have pupusas and I think their pupusas are fine. There's a few restaurants nearby, some of which I mentioned above, that have pupusas, but sometimes I'm just in the mood for something different and near where I'm at. I usually get loroco, the edible flower, and sometimes pork and cheese. I've tried other dishes like carne asada and guisada depending on my mood. Their tap water is terrible, so you're better off buying a drink. read more

Located right next to Bacaro, Mi Flor Blanca is a hole in the wall Salvadorean restaurant that serves DELICIOUS pupusas. For those who don't know what pupusas are they are Salvadorean quesadillas: thick corn masa tortillas that sealed with a variety of fillings inside. They offer 6 different types of pupusas. My friend and I ended up getting 4: one with cheese, one with lorocco (translated squash flowers), one with calabazas (aka pumpkin), and one with frijoles (beans). As a vegetarian, loved that they have tons of veggie pupusas type! At $1.99 each, they are certainly a steal and I am usually full by the 2nd or 3rd one. So do the math and you can get a full meal for about $5-$7 bucks! When you get the pupusas the staff also brings you one big jar of curtido. The best way I can explain it is that it's Salvadorean kimchee. Pickled cabbage with a hint of spiciness that adds a nice acidic component to the pupusas. I can't have a pupusa without it. Tip: If you don't speak Spanish, be prepared to use your facial expressions and hands a lot. The waitress we had didn't speak any English, but it didn't bother me much because I can semi speak Spanish. Tip #2: CASH ONLY!! Parking: Free street parking up and down Union! read more

I love this Salvadoran spot! If you're looking for authentic Salvy food this is the place! Owned and ran by a family, this place is a hidden Gem in the USC area! Even though they only accept cash, let me tell you that it's worth it! They have a ATM machine inside the restaurant so you don't have to go far to get some cash. I've been here multiple times. me and my boyfriend mostly always get pupusas and they are the BOMB.COM!! So if are looking to get some good pupusas don't be afraid to check this place out! I know this small Gem will become one of your favorite pupusas spots and I can say that with confidence because it has become mine! read more

I work in the hospitalIty industry, I live off tips and always leave tips, well Not here. Not after being ripped off.Pathetic lady, in every sense! Although I'm Mexican, My best friend is from El Salvador. I was in one relationship with someone from El Salvador for 6years and another for 14years. I also have been to El Salvador so in other words I know what a great pupusa taste like and this place is so far from it. The ingredients they use are horrible. It's bland, made without any love. They are jUst surviving. I should of walked out when I saw they they sell Avon Products under the counter. Just like with a taco it's all about the salsa, well with a pupusa it's all about the "curtido"" By far the worst curtido I've ever tasted. No flavor at all!!!! I also ordered the fried plantaIns and these too were disgusting. You can taste the canola oil and old pan. I could hardly have one tiny bite and refused to put my intestines through that. I regret coming here and do NOT recommend it to anyone with a clean palette. Its incredible how many people With messed up palettes exist. It's the only way theSe kind of places remain open. FYI check prices because lady over charges you. One last thing, they haVe the news playing so loud, "THE NEWS" Who hoes to a restaurant to hear about some viral disease on TV. read more

I came by here with my date before heading to the 24th Street Theatre for the play. In her 34 years of existence, I'm sure she'll appreciate me disclosing her age to the millions of yelp users, she's never had papusas before. I'm like, what the heck girl? You're reared in a state that has more Latinos than central america and you've never had El Salvadoran papusas? With the lack of reviews, I was taking a huge risk. I wonder how people chose which restaurants before Yelp came on the scene. How does one even live?... But I digress. Upon looking at the menu, first thing that came to mind was, damn this place is cheap. We ended up ordering 2 chorizo papusas, A BBQ 1/2 chicken dish and an order of Taquitos. The servings here are huge. The papusas are definitely good with the added crunch on the outside but soft doughy inside. Highly recommended. There was so much food that even after sharing our meal. There was still plenty of take home for tomorrow's lunch. I'm not sure when if ever, I'm going to be in the area but if I am, this place is definitely worth checking out. Heck, there are now 2 reviews. Enjoy! read more

So me and my fiancé saw a homeless man outside in the rain in front of this restaurant so we decided to buy him food. We went in and ordered to go, the customer service from the beginning was not good. We ordered 2 pupusas, and the total was 5.50, which was reasonable. She then said it would take 20 mins which we couldn't wait so we told him to come in and eat inside, so we ordered a coffee for him and told the lady it was for the man at the last table, she saw him and made a face. She then charged us 3.50 for a coffee!!!!!!!!!!!! 3.50 for a damn coffee!! She over charged us because she saw who it was for! Really bad customer service!!!!! read more

Great tasting pork cheese and bean pupusas, Not greasy like other places. The prices are good too. If you're looking for a simple, quick, tasty, filling meal, eat pupusas. I will return. Cash only like we're in the 1930's, that's alright though. read more

I have found my pupusa spot. It's located on Union next to popular USC spots such as Nature's Brew, Bacaro, and Ebae's, but this place is populated by locals, not students (which means I have found an AUTHENTIC SOUTH CENTRAL SPOT WOOOO). I wouldn't say it's hole-in-the-wall, it's clean, nice, and feels familial. I went with my friend who is a slight Spanish speaker. He said that usually when he tries to order at Latino places, they recognize his American accent and usually reply in English- not this place!!!! The lady who took our order didn't really speak English, but ordering was easy. When I asked in English if they had pupusas, she just directed me to the pupusas on the menu and I ordered "pupusas con chicharron y queso." Even though there wasn't anyone else waiting on food, it took awhile (maybe about 15-20 min) for us to get our food, but that just means they were preparing our pupusas fresh. And they did not disappoint. Omg. Cue the red sauce and pickled cabbage. For $2.10 a pupusa and two can fill me up?! Amazing. I'll have to try the horchata next time. Quick tips: Cash only, order in spanish, park either on Union if there's a spot, or 24th Street! read more

Do not be fooled by the description of pupusas as "stuffed tortillas" on the menu! Delicious pupusas at a reasonable price, considering it's proximity to USC. Very hole in the wall, and mainly locals come and eat here, not students. They don't have glasses if water available, but they do have bottled water for $1. Place is cash only, and they have an ATM in the event you didn't come prepared with some $ in your pocket. Street parking available in front of place. read more

Everyone complaining about the price like y'all be paying for overpriced Starbucks coffee but can't support a local shop like shut da fck up, I LOVE their pupusas and their empanadas de leche, it's a family owned business and I love it , recommend this place for sure but if you're gonna btch about the price then get out read more

The service was good, the waitress was attentive. The food was tasty, we got from pupusas to yuca con chicharron to tacos dorados. The price was reasonable for five people I paid around fifty three dollars. Didn't give it a fully five stars due to the fact they didn't have chan yet had it on the menu and only accept cash which is pretty lame. read more

Honestly food isn't that great. Price is alright. Each pupusa is like $2 something, however you get what you pay for. Meaning crappy service and food. The ingredients aren't fresh. The tomato sauce they serve you alongside the pupusa tastes like watered down hunts tomato sauce and the pickled cabbage has a really gross texture. Seems like they use a little vinegar and a whole lot of water. Service : well there isn't much service. You seat yourself, wait to get noticed, once your order has been taken and your food has been brought to your table there's no more waitress to be seen until you pay your bill. So indeed you can get full for cheap ,but does it satisfy? Well that's up to you. read more
