Hands down, the best pupusas I have ever tasted! I love coming here for quality pupusas. They are big and stuffed with whatever it is you want them with. I always ask for the pupusas to be made a bit more crispy and thick, which they never fail to do. They always serve me fresh, hot, cheesy pupusas, wether I am eating in or calling ahead to order a take out order. The wait time is usually about 15-20 minutes when calling and ordering ahead and about 10-15 minutes when eating inside the restaurant. There is not restaurant parking and the restaurant is located on a busy street, so it is quite difficult to find street parking in front of the restaurant at night read more

Really just the best pupusas on the planet. I heard of Conchitas via word of mouth at family dinners and really has to go in and check it out for myself. Located in the Salvadorian Corridor of LA, park on Pico & go right in. Conchitas is unassuming and modest, no thrills here. Staff is super sweet but their English is limited so be sure to know the key Spanish words you care to use! I had a large, family sized order which took about 45 mins to make including cheese and pork pupusas, plus arroz en leche and had an ensalada de fruitas to drink while waiting (yum). Each pupusa cost about $2.30, so for a party of five, was only about $34! With the order, corrtido was included which is like a pickled coleslaw. I also purchased the arroz en leche, which is so sweet and yummy with the cinnamon sticks mixed in. Always a family favorite, we'll be back. One star off for interior aesthetic but minor detail as long as it's clean. Lots of families were in and out. read more

The food was really good and it was cooked perfectly. The only thing was not all of it was perfect. One of the papusas weren't cooked all the way and the burrito that I ordered broke apart as soon as I picked it up. I don't mean to sound like I hated it but I don't hate it. Very clean and small spot to eat amazing homestyle food. I personally go for the pupusas but everything else in the menu is just as good! The pupusas are way better! At a very affordable price and trust me, I'm a 190lb guy who gets very stuffed with 3 of their pupusas. They're very big in size and will for sure hit the spot. ;) try out the mixed (revuelta)! This modest family restaurant has been in business for over thirty years, and four generations present at any given time, from Doña Conchita herself to the young great grandkids. Pupusas are prepared from scratch, generously overstuffed with cheese and chicharrón, or your fillings of choice. The pastelitos de carne are crunchy, the curtido (pickled slaw) and sauces are not skimped, but provided generously. The most common complaint is the wait time, but every meal is prepared fresh and to order; I for one don't mind waiting for quality. Definitely one of those yummy local hole-in-the-wall type places. A little bit hard to find if you're walking at night as the only things visible are the brick wall and two doors that lead into the place. You definitely should get the pupusas here. My cousin and I ordered the pupusa de frijoles y queso (bean and cheese), the pupusa de loroco y calabaza (veggie and squash), and 2 tamales de elote, crema, y frijoles (corn, cream and beans tamales). The pupusas were delicious! Great slightly crunchy texture on the outside and good flavor inside. I prefered the loroco y calabaza, but both were great! The corn tamales were also very good. I was expecting actual pieces of corn, but instead the filling was mashed/ground up corn. It was slightly sweet and the bean and sour cream balanced the sweetness nicely. My cousin and all shared all of this together and it was suuper filling! Just the right amount of food for 2! And the cherry on top is that out bill came out to $13-something! I took a ride on a spaceship to what I like to call Planet Pupusa. I am new to the Pupusa galaxy and even though I have not met one I did not like, I have not met one that made me say Oh Em Gee until today. Pupusas from Conchitas have been the best pupusas I have had yet. At first bite I knew these ones for now, were the one. Everything was perfect about these piping hot made to order pockets stuffed perfectly with the perfect proportions of beans and cheese. The crispy fried bonus cheese almost sent me in a foodgasm to infinity and beyond! The red sauce was perfection. Still thin but it had a kick. It had flavor. It was truly made with love. The slaw was crunchy crisp and just down right coolalicious. After first course of pupusas we indulged in Empanadas and a Sweet Corn Tortilla. The empanadas were amazeballs. The shell of these meaty pies was like nothing I have had before. So light, so crispy and it stayed crispy to the last bite. The Sweet Corn Tortilla was something I want to eat for breakfast on a rainy day or after a night of drinking. It's was so simple yet comforting. We finished things off right with Sweet Empanadas. H-E-A-V-E-N! This was only my second time indulging in this treat but it was the best. The custard filled center of mashed sweet plantains coated in a crispy cinnamon sugar batter just oozed out. Divine. For bevies, their Horchata was not like any horchata I have had before. It reminded me like cinnamon chocolate milk. Very good and very easy to drink many many cups full. The Ensalada was a refreshing drinkable fruit salad. Mango and all. Let's hope I do not wake up with hives tomorrow. 5 well deserved stars to Planet Pupusa. And for $2.10, this is a steal! =) To be honest though, it takes a long time for them to make it... my friend decided to get their number so that we can just order it ahead of time next time. Last time I was here we waited almost 30 minutes for 4 orders of pupusas. The waitresses were very nice. I feel like they don't really get a lot of non-Hispanic customers because they kept avoiding talking to us and delegated the talking to one waitress, whom probably had the best English out of all of them. At one point during our 30 minutes wait, we asked them what was the drink that many other people were ordering. At first, they were really shy in answering us and did their best with their English. Then, surprisingly, they brought out a cup for us to try! I was really impressed by their heartwarming expression. For a second, I forgot I was in a restaurant and felt like I was invited into a meal with a Salvadorean family. This one had very soft masa, one big chunk of chicken inside along with some potato. $2.00 for homemade horchata. Don't ever come here if your hungry! Come here when your not hungry and expect to wait or do what I do and place an order for pick up . I am half Salvadorean, I honestly hardly ever eat the food but I know how to distinguish the quality. I have not found a place that makes their pupusas as good, big and cheesy as "Las Conchitas". The last time I called in a order I was getting out of class from Cal State Fullerton in Orange County. It took me 50 minutes to get to LA and another 5 minutes to find street parking. When I arrived around 6pm the food had just been packed. I had ordered 3 pupusas and one order of "pastelitos" (deep fried pastries stuffed with beef stuffing ) topped and served with "Curtido" (slaw cabbage seasoned and prepared with some kind of vinegar substance ) also includes a tomato based salsa. Don't ever dine here, I think the long wait will make anyone take for granted the quality in the food. Minus one star for wait. read more
