I had Mi Casa at their Farmer's Market stand, so I can't really speak to their ambiance, but the food itself was amazing! Very flavorful, and perfect portion size. The chipotle sauce was really really tasty, and had a nice kick. I got the stewed eggplant over rice and peas and loved it. The woman who was working the stand was also really nice and quick service.

Am I in the Lowed East Side NYC?? Or more accurately DR? Super tasty, healthy portions (I hope they still do ok, Rent-wise, with those generous portions), good pricing & container size options. I got the $7.50 medium size & a $2 Beef Empanada. You can mix & match, which was great. Rice & pigeon peas, stew chicken, sautéed Yucca, I asked for "one" shrimp just to try it. Their salmon looked good too-next time. I saw a customer asking to try a bit & they gave a sample of the fish in a tiny cup. The Dominican Cake in the Fridge (is that tres leches?) looks really good- for next time. Interesting Latin sodas also, malta.. I've passed by a few times & they seem to have a steady stream of customers, young families, professionals that work downtown AND phone orders. They have an empanada club card also- too cute. The service is quick & nice, food is extremely fresh and flavorful- I'll be a regular. Supposedly there is Sancocho soup on Saturdays, oxtail sometimes too- that Anthony Bourdain episode in DR has me intrigued. The space is very clean & bright, with a small L shaped counter to eat. Appreciate the little footrest at the counter for us short people. Thank you for Flavor!

Great price for such delicious food and large portion sizes! Everything was perfectly seasoned, nothing was overly salted. If you want a home cooked meal you've come to the right place. The tres leche... wow it was gone in 5 minutes. Very light and not overly sweet. Staff was also very warm and inviting.

A small Bodega style food joint. The food is displayed behind glass you just tell them what you want. It's very good and reasonably priced.

I love the place and the food but the meat portions are too small, ends up being a bowl of full of rice.

We started with cocktails, which were generally pleasing. My margarita was served in a beautiful glass, and I liked its tartness. But therein lies, I believe, a missing ingredient. A margarita is supposed to have a combination of tartness and sweetness - usually from agave - and I did not detect the sweetness component. Still, I'd order it again. Our group ordered a variety of arepas, and I went with their Reina/Queen, which is their chicken and avocado arepa. I was expecting it to be chunks of chicken and sections of avocado, I did not realize it was going to be combined more like a chicken/avocado salad... but still delicious. I definitely want to come back for some of those cooked meat arepas. And future visits will include dessert - we didn't order any because we were going elsewhere afterwards, but those all looked decadent. This is a great component to the variety of cuisines available in Troy!

I'll be honest - my heart sank as we got there, I almost cried. The neighborhood is *sketch*. The outside of the restaurant didn't look like much - but I felt better once we got in. Beautifully decorated with great lighting, lounge-style atmosphere. Great Latin music. We sat on the bar side as it was less busy. Beautiful bar with lots of options! Bartender made us **amazing** margaritas... omg were they strong! Loved it! Since we had never been there before, we played it safe. First we went with a fried calamari appetizer - not the best, but not bad - but then it's not typically something you'd order at a Mexican food restaurant. Boyfriend had the street steak tacos as main - hold the cheese as he forgot his lactaid, lol - and I had the steak quesadilla. Delicious! We loved it. The steak was especially well seasoned, not overcooked and sides were yummy. We ended the evening with churros - definitely homemade and on par with the ones we love at El Mirador in NH. Boyfriend even took his life in his hands and had some of the ice cream, couldn't resist - it was that good! Overall, as Boyfriend put it - this is absolutely a hidden gem type of spot - service was spectacular, food was delicious and we would totally return! (**Seated next to us were two young women on an obvious first date - girl #1 showed up, then girl #2 showed up a few minutes later with a big bouquet of flowers... what a nice touch! I was warmly greeted, seated, and given a menu and then it took some time, well after I was ready, to be visited to place my order. No biggie, but I was ready and it wasn't busy, with guests at 1 other table. When I finished my meal, I waited again. Not a huge problem but a lot of side work was being done vs providing service. I let server know I was all set and he acknowledged then continued to make drinks for kitchen staff. I had ordered lemonade but after checking, it looked like they were out, so he offered the juice (without explaining). Food was very tasty. Lunch was $37 before tip, for 3 tacos meal, 3 empanadas app, and the fruit drink.

And the music was amazing, it really added to the experience and made us feel like we were transported to Colombia. From the moment we arrived, John Eduard, the owner, and Valentina, our waitress, were absolutely fantastic, warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great experience. I enjoyed the Bandeja Paisa and asked if they could substitute the flank steak for skirt steak. Even though it's not on the menu, they made it happen and it was absolutely delicious! My husband and son had the La Tabla Mixta for Two, and the meat was incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. And the desserts were to die for! Every bite was better than the last. The food, service, hospitality, atmosphere, and attention to detail were all exceptional. We will definitely be coming back every time we're in the area! For starters, I was impressed by the bright, cheerful decor. The painted furniture depicted charming village scenes of people, places and animals. There's a friendly hostess to greet guests by the door. Our server was nice and helpful, too. My friend ordered carne asada ( beef) tacos and I ordered chorizo (pork sausage) tacos. They are generous with portions. Our corn tortillas were stuffed with meat. Plenty of sauces, refried beans, chopped onions, cilantro and sliced limes came with each dish. The food was delicious and certainly authentic. I ordered a virgin pina colada since I was driving. It was wonderful. It tasted like dessert in a glass. I honestly don't know why this place didn't rate higher. Customers had nice things to say but were stingy when giving out stars. For my part, I think my Salsa Latina experience was worthy of 5 stars.
