Average TexMex food in my book. I had the spicy chicken salad and the jalapeños they put on the salad unquestionably added heat. I had ordered fir carry out and discovered the utensils they give you are flimsy plastic junk and I had to stop elsewhere to get utensils and napkins. Service was very friendly and the price was fair.

Food was good, SERVICE WAS AWESOME, and the atmosphere was family-friendly. Came here for my niece's birthday dinner and we were served fresh tortilla chips and salsa literally as soon as we sat down. That's amazing! Everyone that works there is friendly, and our server was awesome and very attentive! He came to check on us multiple times. They even gathered to sing Feliz Cumpleaños to my niece, and gave her a complimentary churro dessert, which she enjoyed! I ordered the Enchiladas Poblanas and the mole sauce was perfect! My only wish was that I got more rice with my entree, but maybe that's just me being a big back. They have a variety of dishes on their menu, and a bar. Another plus is that our food came out super hot. I love that! The venue could use some touch ups as far as drywall patching and such, but the service makes up for all of that in my opinion. I did get a plate that was chipped, so I would recommend just throwing those away and not giving them to customers. But I would still come back and try other dishes on their menu.

Enjoyed my Shrimp tostada and beef chalupa for my 2 item combinations. A strawberry margarita was the perfect flavor to accompany the meal. The restaurant was quiet and comfortable

Steak fajitas. Couldn't eat the meat

Service was slow. In fact, the server disappeared after he served us our food. Ordered steak fajitas and a chicken fundido (chicken with fajita veggies on top and rice on the bottom. ) Also ordered cheese sauce because the chips were really good and why not a good cheese sauce with them. Just like the salsa, they he cheese sauce was so wet that it dripped on the way to my mouth. The dishes we ordered had no fry on them. The fajitas looked like they were taken off a soupy buffet and there was no flavor whatsoever to the fajita steak or veggies. Same with my chicken fundido dish, looked like they were steamed or cooked in a stew. Never had food this bad. . Our beans and rice on the side were cold.

That didn't happen. I had to go to the cashier and complain. When we were finally seated the waitress wasn't very welcoming. After we got our food (which was good) we never saw her again. I had to flag down another waiter to get a carry-out container. Then I never got the bill. I had to go to the cashier to find out what I owed and cash out. The waitress walked by us when we were leaving and didn't acknowledge us. I don't think we'll go back there again if that's the kind of service i get.

Mexican food in Southeast Georgia is, well, let's just say it's challenging...to put it mildly…read more I've been served some disgusting crap at just about every other Mexican restaurant in Camden and Glynn counties in the short time I've lived here. I'd pretty much given up on there being any edible Mexican food in this part of the state. I was driving around with some company from out of town, and they announced that they were hungry, so I cringed in terror when I realized I was in St. Marys. There really aren't great restaurant or food choices here. I'd remembered that a friend at work told me that Compas had pretty good Mexican food, and I caught myself wondering if there was a "...for southeast Georgia." at the end of his statement. Well, we were close, so we took a chance. The location is a little strange, tucked away in a sprawling, but sparsely populated shopping center. Parking was a breeze, plenty of spaces, so we parked right up front and sauntered on in. We had to wait a minute or two for somebody to greet us at reception area, but that was no big deal, the servers on duty were very busy. We were seated and immediately given menus and asked about drinks. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and about what you'd expect for a strip-mall restaurant. The menu was quite large, and had just about every favorite Mexican food staple I've known over the years. I opted for the Chili Verde, something of a litmus test for a good Mexican restaurant in my book, and the others in my party opted for standard burrito/enchilada items. Chips and salsa were great, and kudos to them for having nice, big chunks of cilantro in it. Delicious, and very mild. No need to worry about scorching your mouth. The food came out pretty quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised. My Chili Verde was absolutely delicious, and the portion was quite large. I stuffed my face, and took leftovers home for lunch. The other diners with me also reported that their food was quite good. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu at Compas. Will probably get chili rellenos next. I know they can't all be winners, but at least there's a place in the county where I know I can get a good Chili Verde that won't make me sick.
