We were seated and immediately given menus and asked about drinks. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and about what you'd expect for a strip-mall restaurant. The menu was quite large, and had just about every favorite Mexican food staple I've known over the years. I opted for the Chili Verde, something of a litmus test for a good Mexican restaurant in my book, and the others in my party opted for standard burrito/enchilada items. Chips and salsa were great, and kudos to them for having nice, big chunks of cilantro in it. Delicious, and very mild. No need to worry about scorching your mouth. The food came out pretty quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised. My Chili Verde was absolutely delicious, and the portion was quite large. I stuffed my face, and took leftovers home for lunch. The other diners with me also reported that their food was quite good. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu at Compas. Will probably get chili rellenos next. I know they can't all be winners, but at least there's a place in the county where I know I can get a good Chili Verde that won't make me sick.
