Found this place back in 2019 while looking for a new barber. Spoke to onwer named Maynor on the phone who had told me "come at 3:30, i got you but cash only". A very friendly a professional guy who always have a spot for me whenever i need to get my hair done. This place has been the only place that has cut my hair ever since. The owner became a good friend of mine and I'm very grateful to that I can come here anytime and just sit there and he already knows what to do. Fast forward a few years later I met Byron. Maynor was great but no offense, Byron will /has taken this Barbershop to another level. Not only does he make customer feel at home, but he also cares about the customer. I witnessed him telling a customer and the customers mom who has ringworm on his head the reason why the customers requested haircut shouldnt be done as the situation will just get worst. Byron has upgraded the shop from what it used to be. Putting in new decorations, opening up more spots for other barbers to come in, just making it more modernized. He changes razor per customers he services. I could see the passion and the joy he gets from seeing a satisfied client. Maynor may have provided this barbershop to start the it needed and it became stable, Byron coming in will take it to the next level. Bumped into this jewel of a location by accident after my typical barbershop was closed (large franchise). It was late into the night (9pm) and MG showed his magic (girlfriend approved too!). Only barber I could find open late after work and I'll definitely be going back. He was able to get me in as a walk-in between two of his appointments and was super friendly. Told him what style haircut I wanted and he asked if he could put his personal touch on it by blending the sides in with my facial hair and doing a nice square zero fade on the back. This is a business owner, who cuts hair as a hobby. He has his signature ending cut and will explain it to you in case you go to another barber. He's cool and keeps the conversation going so that you don't get bored or awkward. He also takes in people a few minutes after he closes, which is good if you are running late (closes at 22:00 as of 10/18/19). The only thing about this location is finding it- it is where those commercial buildings are, behind the gas station. It took me a while to find it, especially considering there is always traffic on that area, other than that everything is great and if he isn't familiar on a specific hairstyle, just have the photo ready and he'll know how to get it done! read more

I have been looking for a good barber in the are since my old one left for some time now. I believe i have finally found him. MG is a great barber and is very attentive to what you want in a haircut. He is personable and you can tell he takes pride in cutting hair. One of the best things about him is that he is open late! He will cut hair until 10pm at night. It is very hard to find a barber shop that is open past 7pm these days. Tips: call ahead of time so you can make sure he can see you. I needed an impromptu haircut one night, but all my usual places were already closed. I checked Yelp and saw that MGcaliBarber was open til' 10pm so I drove by to check it out. Not only did a receive a fresh cut, but Maynor also schooled me on the differences between a taper and a fade. He took his time cutting my hair, made sure to check in with me to see if I liked the progress so far, and was patient when I made some last minute requests on how I wanted my hair cut. I would definitely recommend you give MGcaliBarber a shot, especially if you need a fresh cut during the later PM hours. Maynor works EVERY DAY and also accepts walk-in customers, although I'd recommend scheduling an appointment before hand just to be safe. 2 stars for the service, and the at-home feeling n welcoming feeling I get. The haircut? I don't like to be negative especially to hard working people like him. Therefore, a week back I asked for a low taper and to just line my long hair up, and made it clear what I wanted and acknowledged it, he then began cutting the sides and keep in mind I was happy to get my cut cause I been growing it out. He then began going on with the cut and started to realize he was going way to high up and I didn't ask for a high fade so I thought it's to late to go back now and looked in the mirror and realized he just messed up my whole day with this. Then he began to cut the top and realized he was cutting my hair so uneven and keep in mind I didn't ask for any length to be taken at the top just a lineup, and I given more than one chances in the past , so I hate to go somewhere else but I feel like it's for the better he'd definitely get a 5 star if he had actually cut my hair like I expected and asked for it to be, but will not return, big respects cause of how hard working he is but was not satisfied with my cut.
