Called several contractors and Clayton was by far the most honest, optimistic and committed to the scope of work required. Because there was an obvious "unknown" as to the scope of work the quote was provided in tiers that identified clear thresholds that "if" we have to do this "then" we're into this tier of expense. To my absolute amazement, he did NOT make it to the top tier. That's honesty right there! The quote itself was extremely detailed and allowed us to clearly understand the work, the expense and provided the opportunity to adjust as necessary. Clayton shared he was in the United State Marine Corps which explains the detail provided, honesty and absolutely NO nonsense approach with his crew and/or contractors. Thank you for your service Clayton! During the work Clayton stayed in constant contact keep me informed as what the plans were for the following days, who should be accessing the back yard to work on the project and when the rains came (and the rains did come) he identified in advance when the crew would not be present. Bottom line, 100% satisfaction with MRZ Contracting. Look at the reviews here in Yelp...5 stars for more than a couple dozen reviews and for a contractor never-the-less. That surely puts MRZ Contracting in elite company in the real work and when considering them for your work I would strong recommend you at least obtain a quote from them and let the chips fall where they may after that.

They even came back after final payment to adjust my irrigation timer and add some additional sod at no cost. I highly recommend them.

Examples: a chandelier over the tub was mounted to a plastic box sitting directly on ceiling drywall with the cable unsecured along the attic floor; several items required rework, including a custom vanity with an off-center sink cabinet, unlevel countertops, and visibly slanted shelves; the plumbing work had multiple problems and the plumber and his sister were fired. Ther are many, many other things I could mention. The project took over eight months instead of the four promised, with work gaps of days and sometimes weeks. I met with the PM three times to create a timeline, but they fell behind every time. The only reason he gave was schedule conflicts with other jobs. One positive: Guillermo and Jose were responsive and fully guaranteed their work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end product before ending the project.

We needed it to be done in a manner that met our high standards and done in a reasonable amount a time as a member of our household is disabled and we wanted to keep disruption to a minimum. They took our requirements and turned them into reality, and the quality of the craftsmanship speaks for itself. Not only is the finished space beautiful and exactly what we envisioned, but the ICO team was also a pleasure to work with throughout the process--keeping things clean, communicating clearly, and staying on track. Shower, tub, floors, tile, lighting, electrical, tile, fans/vents, painting and more. I give them my highest recommendation. See before and after photos. Excellent communication, beginning with their response to my initial request for information and throughout the whole project. The project manager and even the owner were available to respond to questions seven days a week. At the end of every day they provided a progress report along with what to expect the following day. They made regular visits to my house to inspect the work in progress. Even after completion of the project they stayed in touch to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. All the workers were courteous and professional. Each day they carefully cleaned the work and adjacent areas. At the end of the project a housecleaning service thoroughly cleaned and touched up. It amazes me how other companies and individuals didn't respond to my inquiries or ghosted me after promising to provide a quote. Importantly, ICO is local with brick and mortar offices in the metroplex. I would be leery of all those virtual companies who devote most of their resources to sales and marketing and then sub the work to random contractors.
