I was passing through Bandera on my way to Kerville and stopped in to do some hardware shopping…read more Having been there previously, I remember the lady at the counter asking me if I was a veteran. I proudly pulled out my identification for verification and she said, "Thank you for your service, sir!" So I was under the impression that this establishment honored veterans. As the cashier rang up my goods this morning, I pulled out my identification and told her I was a veteran, and she began to ring it up and stopped. She then told me that was tomorrow. I said, "Tomorrow... what do you mean?!" She looked at me as she leaned forward and mumbled, "They only give to discount on Thursday's." WOW! Was the only reply I gave. If she has to mumble the policy to people, then it is obvious that employees are ashamed of the company's policy. I'm a proud veteran of these United States and the great state of Texas 24 / 7. So I will take my business elsewhere! Greed should never surpass patriotism in this country... EVER.

I was a little under duress when a very helpful associate stopped what he was doing and assisted me contacting the store manager who's name was Jon. To make a long story short this Gentleman went above and beyond what he was expected to do and performed in an EXEMPLARY MANOR to assure that he helped me and my situation which he did in High fashion. I was and am so impressed with this young man's professionalism! He was to TRUE Value what Brady was to the N E PATs! You don't find that type of dedication to excellence in retail much these days!I tell you this much WE ARE LOYAL CUSTOMERS TO THIS LOCATION FOR LIFE! THANK YOU JON YOUR A GOD SEND TO TRUE VALUE and It's CUSTOMERS! GIVE THAT MAN A RAISE AND PROMOTION!!

Who knew getting a key made could be such an *ACE* of an experience? I popped into Biedermann's…read moreAce Hardware to take care of some key business--literally--and walked out with a freshly cut key *AND* some delicious popcorn. Double win! But wait, the plot thickens. Once I got home, I thought my key ring of all the other keys had pulled a disappearing act. Cue panic. I searched high, low, and everywhere in between (read: the depths of my car seats). Meanwhile, the entire Ace squad was on their walkie talkies, mobilizing like a key-finding SWAT team. Not once did anyone make me feel like a bother--no side-eye, no sighs, just pure helpfulness. Turns out, the keys were just playing hide-and-seek in the car. Crisis averted! The store itself? Clean, welcoming, and packed with EVERYTHING. Need a bird feeder? Check. How about a candle that smells like heaven? They've got it. Wind chimes to add a little ~zen~ to your backyard? You bet. And of course, all the hardware essentials--wrenches, hammers, nails...you name it, Ace has your back, honey! So, if you're ever in need of friendly folks, great service, and maybe a bag of popcorn to boot, Biedermann's Ace Hardware is the place to *key-p* coming back to! (see what I did there? lol)

The grill was delayed many times and assembled incorrectly when finally delivered. This store took no responsibility for this disaster, only gave me excuses. Now I am left with a ACE gift card that I have no desire to use any more, NO grill, and a ruined Christmas.

An hour later (you get caught up in all the eclectic items they offer). During the hour I checked out cat toys, dog toys, cards (fabulous collection of off beat greeting cards), cat litter, yo yos, dominoes, keys (they cut keys), gardening tools, pocket knives and many other items. You can find a nice weird gift for someone here. And yes, I bought a timer for $6.99. Go there and be reminded of back-in-the-day Scrivener's.

In order to make sure they could…read moremake a car key BEFORE wasting time and gas driving down from Fair Oaks Ranch, my husband called them twice. The first time he called, my husband spoke to a guy who said they needed to see the key first to see if they could do it. Fair enough, but they could have looked the key up first on Google or something. My husband forgot to ask how much it would cost IF they could do it, so he called back. A woman took his call and was short with him, as if she didn't want to be bothered. She snapped, "Oh no - we can't do that!" My husband told her he just talked to a man who told him to bring it down. So then she said "Oh, okay. $2 or $3." When he arrived and handed them the key, she took one look at it and "No we can't do that!" She was very abrupt. We would have shopped a bit for other things, we got the clear impression that our business wasn't wanted. For anything. They were not busy at all. I can understand that they couldn't make the key, but a little more kindness and perhaps some initiative to find out exactly what kind of key we needed would have gone a long way. Since they make keys, and are no doubt familiar with modern fob type car keys, a little engagement of the gray matter would have saved everyone a big hassle.
