I have known Matt for over 15 years. I have used him for all kinds of things during that time frame. I wouldn't use anyone else. He is honest and trustworthy. You don't always get that with others. There is a review above that mentions terrible service on a job regarding foundation work (around 2017). I hired Matt for that job. The contract was with me. I was happy with his work. If what was said about him in that review were true, I wouldn't still be using him to this day. I am about to call him regarding a water heater. Completely dissatisfied with Matt/Multi Family Construction. Our house is far worse now than it was before he/they worked on it. We hired Matt to stabilize our pier and beam foundation. He said he'd done this type of work before and could make our house about 80% better than what it currently was, there would be no new cracks, and he'd have it completed in 2 days. We couldn't afford more than 3.5 days. He knew this and assured us that it wouldn't. We know "stabilize" doesn't mean "like new". We were only looking to have it stabilized. That he could make it 80% better was more than we expected. On the first day, his workers sat around and talked to each other and on their phones for over an hour (not during lunch break). It rained a lot during that whole time period and as they would raise the foundation it would inevitably slip. I asked him about working while the ground was so wet and he said it was fine. In one area he showed me, via a level, how un-level it was. After he said he'd fixed the bathroom area, I noticed it still felt very off. I took his level and checked it for myself. It was worse than the previous area he'd shown me. I told him about it. He took his level in and proclaimed it ok. I moved his level down by 2 inches and showed him that it was, in fact, quite un-level. He seemed miffed but did go back to that area. I think he should've checked his work beforehand. However, even though he did go back and claim that area ok again, it isn't. As he was leaving on the last day, I noticed the back door wouldn't open. He said the house would settle properly in a few days to a week and the door would be fine. If it wasn't, call him and he'd come back and take care of it. It wasn't and he didn't. The job ran over due to all the slippage, which wouldn't have been the case had he waited until the ground was dry enough to do the work properly. This also caused greater settling issues than would've otherwise been the case. Within a month our house was decidedly worse than it had been, and continues to worsen (and not just by a bit). We asked around (neighbors who've had their foundations stabilized, as well as experts), and found out that he should've never been adjusting the foundation while it was so wet. All the slipping caused major new cracks, and the job ran over (so much so that the laundry room where the back door is couldn't be done). The attached pictures show only 2 of thew new cracks (partial), the uneven closure of the back door, and one of the areas where one part of the house is higher than the areas on either side. Again, the foundation is far worse than it was before he worked on it and because it continues to worsen, new cracks continue to appear. The floor in every room is uneven and the house becomes more unstable each passing week. Based on our experience, my recommendation is to hire someone else. We feel taken advantage of, at the very least. read more

DON'T HIRE HIM I really don't understand where any of the glowing reviews on yelp came from. Mr. I have the best master carpenter and professional painter is not what he touts himself to be. Most aspects of this job were deemed finished by Matt after he completed a final inspection of his subcontractors work. I had conversations with Matt about lack of satisfactory completion and he said he disagreed. He said I expect too much. He was not at all happy to do more to resolve quality issues. Matt quit before the job was finished. It is frequent that notice the flaws and incomplete portions of his work and it disgusts me that I got ripped off. read more

Matt is the handy man my family uses. He does remodels, home repairs, painting, carpentry, and other various jobs around the house. He's a real nice guy, very trustworthy, always does a perfect job. He really knows his stuff too, he knows all the products and can advise you as to which is right for your situation. My wonderful dog Zelda recently punched out a window at my parent's house, and of course on thanksgiving night. Matt was over fixing it the very next morning, he talked to us about what we wanted, advised us on different options, got the supplies and did all the labor, promptly and perfectly. He's done several other jobs for us. He built us a raised wooden garden, he installed some high tech sink hardware, built a cedar and bull panel fence out back, he was the contractor for the installation of my parent's rain gutters, as well as several other jobs. I hired Matt and his crew at first to remove my popcorn ceilings. I have to say the crew who did this did well at not leaving a mess in my home. However, the attention to detail (around the edges, etc) were less than desirable. I can live with this. A few weeks later, the edges of the paint in the bedroom started peeling, but I had a professional painter come in and take care of this for me. Also, the crew did dump an entire can of combustible ceiling paint spray in my recycle bin (which I luckily found). These are little things. The real issue I have is that I also hired them to paint my pool deck and install a pool liner in my above ground pool. I had several issues. First, the deck painting was horrible. It was a darker stain and it was uneven and very splotchy. In addition, several places were missed. Matt had his guy paint over it again. I thought it was taken care of but in a few days when it dried well, it still looked uneven. Matt also build a deck fence which he charged $340 for....made out of cheap wood and looks like it was made in junior high shop class. It was put on the deck and was uneven. Matt said he would correct this and make it right. He played with it a few times and never corrected it, or was unable to correct it. Then, it was found that the previous owners had rock outside of the pool (instead of dirt) which he insisted was not to be done and he would have to fill with dirt. So, he supposedly had his crew remove all the rock and fill with dirt. Come to find out, this was not done as he stated. I know this because my liner had a seam defect and ripped. He came out to look at it and dug beside the pool (which was rock) and he left the hole there and then the dirt that he used was barely there. Definitely a half-*** job. I am very disappointed in the workmanship and the way things were done (or not done). It is extremely disappointing. Therefore, I WOULD NOT recommend this company as they will take your money and leave you with the same or more problems than you started with. Oh, and I have several pictures to prove this. Beware -- I learned a very expensive lesson. I just remember one more thing -- when working on installing the pool liner, Matt Fosdick (owner) screwed up and left something behind the liner. My pool was full of water, which he drained and then filled it up again. I spoke to him REPEATEDLY about this, as I felt I should not have to pay the water charge for filling up a pool AGAIN. He said, "I followed the instructions as to what was written, it is not my fault and just ask the water company to take it off your bill. My bill was triple what it usually is... This guy is all about excuses and blame. It is NEVER his fault. P.S. We live in the same neighborhood. This is how he treats his neighbors I guess. Regardless and more importantly, this is the level of service and workmanship given to a customer. read more

I am very unhappy with Matt. I wanted backsplash and countertops done. We looked at a few pictures and looked at one I kinda liked. He went to the store and just bought one that kinda looked similar, but didn't bother to verify with me that that was what I wanted. He just went ahead and picked it out on his own. When I objected to the one he bought, he got very defensive and kept saying over and over again how much of a discount he was giving me. He did end up installing it, and it ended up looking great. I was happy about that, but still a little irritated that he picked out the tile instead of me. But I let it go since I ended up liking it anyway. Then they did the countertops. Similar story. He told me the color he picked out was very similar to a picture frame I had in my home. Again, I was annoyed that he didn't verify with me that I liked the color he picked out, but decided to let it go since I liked the color on my picture frame and thought it would look nice. Fast forward to when I get home and take all the coverings off. The counters looked more like a baby blue than a grey. I was disappointed in the color and texted Matt to let him know. I was very polite, but again, he became defensive and told me I got a great deal on it. Great deal or not, I wouldn't have picked out that color. He was not the least apologetic, nor did he offer any solutions besides doing the whole thing over and charging me $900 on top of what I already owed him for the work. Now I'm stuck with a kitchen counter that I don't like and I'm out $750. Work is decent, but not worth it to hire a guy who doesn't conduct himself professionally and is not attentive to customer questions or comments and gets defensive and rude when politely confronted with anything he doesn't want to hear. Not great at picking up after themselves either. Do not recommend. You can find someone who does the same work or better without dealing with an arrogant jerk. read more

Not recommended for drywall texturing. I needed the ceiling of my garage "textured" to match the walls of the garage. My request for quote included: 1. Repairing an exposed (cracked) drywall tape joint. 2. Floating and sanding rough areas that had been repaired. 3. Applying wall and ceiling spray texture to match walls as closely as possible. Upon completion of the work: 1. The cracked drywall joint was still visible and "re-texturing" only made the crack more noticeable because the new texture did not match and it was not feathered into the existing texture. The area was taped off so the outlined area stands out from the existing textured area. 2. Ceiling drywall joints were not properly floated and are still visible. 3. Application of ceiling texture was inconsistent. There are areas that match the walls quite well and there are others that were sprayed at an angle (instead of perpendicular to the surface) with too much material such that drips formed. Rather than go into the details of my contractor selection criteria, the contract negotiation, and the unpleasant "discussion" that took place after the work had been completed, I thought I would limit my review to the details of the service provided. read more

I met Matt 4 years ago when I was looking for a general contractor to remodel my home. Lucky me that I found him. He did OUTSTANDING work on my house. Completely remodeled on inside (3 levels) and did painting etc on outside along with tree work. His company does it all and he supervises everything to make sure it is done to customer expectations and frankly he exceeded mine. He did so well I also hired him to remodel and do some landscaping on a rental house I have in SoCo. Again, excellent service at fair price, completed faster than I thought it would be and he also makes homemade salsa that he leaves with me. (thanks for that Matt!) I feel very blessed to have run across Matt not only from a contractor perspective but also as a friend. I HIGHLY recommend Matt to anyone. If he says he can do it that means he can and that he can do it well. His prices are VERY reasonable and he never goes over budget and always seem to finish before schedule while exceeding expectations. Don't know how you do it Matt but keep doing it! I asked this guy to put in the best hoses for my washing machine because it was leaking. He said they had a lifetime warranty with him and Lowes where he purchased them however would never provide a receipt when I asked him to. When I washed clothes right after he'd installed them it still leaked so I thought there was something wrong with the machine and purchased a new machine. I wanted to use the stainless steel hoses he had but the installers from Home Depot said the hot water hose had been stripped and installed wrong so that's why it was leaking and they had to use their own hoses. When I contacted Matt about this he said he did nothing wrong and would not stand behind his company to refund at least the $40 price for the hoses he installed incorrectly. He said his price to install was less expensive than a handyman service however, I would prefer having paid more to get the job done properly & they probably would've stood behind their work!! I had a 2nd contractor inspect the hoses that Mr. Fosdick replaced and they confirmed Home Depot's findings that he improperly installed the hot water hose threading it wrong and thus stripping it. Have a new washing machine installed properly (hoses & all) and no leaks! I would definite NOT recommend him or his company and most definitely will tell my friends to stay away from his company. read more

Matt, is on time and very professional in keeping his sub contractors on time. Our kitchen remodel was estimated by Matt to take two weeks. We'll, darn it, it took 2-1/2 weeks.
