We just held our son & daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at Mezzo on December 30, 2019. We rented the upstairs floor. The staff made it a wonderful experience for the bridal couple, bridal party, and guests! The food tasted exceptional, and the service staff--we had 3 servers--went above and beyond. Everyone enjoyed the experience and complimented the food and service. We used the event room for appetizers: pizza and meatballs, and the rest of the area for dining. The veal meatballs were tender & full of flavor. Excellent! We had several choices of pizzas, and they even offer gluten-free pizza crust, which we needed for a couple guests. Special events receive a special, personalized menu, which I helped design. We had filet, salmon, gnocchi as entrees (I forget the fourth option), and I highly recommend the truffles for dessert, a rich chocolate treat! They melt in your mouth. Tina Stiver, the event coordinator, worked with me on room setup, entree choices, appetizers, etc. She responded within a day and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. Michael Haller, the manager, uses his personable qualities to make sure everything runs smoothly. The mix of old and new architecture provide a unique environment. I recommend Mezzo for a fantastic dining opportunity, whether it is a special event or not! read more

Mezzo enchanted my evening with an extraordinary fusion of exquisite flavors and an ambiance that felt like a warm embrace. The happy hour offerings, particularly the $11 wine selection, were a delightful surprise, elevating my experience to a new level of enjoyment. The culinary journey continued with a perfectly cooked salmon that was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Each bite revealed the chef's precision - a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The staff at Mezzo deserves accolades for their impeccable service, seamlessly blending attentiveness with genuine warmth. Beyond the delectable dishes and superb libations, the ambiance at Mezzo is a key player in crafting a memorable dining experience. The atmosphere was an effortless blend of sophistication and comfort, providing the perfect backdrop for savoring every moment. Mezzo has undoubtedly mastered the art of creating an exceptional dining experience, where every element, from the happy hour offerings to the culinary expertise and attentive staff, converges to make it a culinary haven. My evening at Mezzo was not just a meal; it was a celebration of gastronomic delights in an environment that felt like pure indulgence. read more

My wife and I recently relocated to the Dublin area and decided to give Mezzo a try. We stopped in this past Tuesday night and found out it was the restaurant's retail wine night. Lucky us! We had a wonderful bottle of Silver Oak Cabernet. We shared the meatball appetizer, to start. While I can't remember the dish my wife had, I had the lasagna per our server's recommendation. Glad I did! What impressed me the most was the server and the hospitality of the place as a whole. Our server went out of his way to make a list of restaurants in the area that he thought we should try since we were new to town. The manager also stopped by the table and welcomed us to Columbus and gave us a card for Friends and Family to use on our next visit. We will definitely be returning with our new friends! Thanks for being such a great welcome wagon, Mezzo! Cheers to you! read more

Something Is Seriously Wrong Here We've enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but last night was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you're hit with the overwhelming smell of sewage -- it's nauseating and completely off-putting. We were seated upstairs, where the rotten egg odor still managed to waft up to our table. My meal was wrong when it arrived, and by the time the correct dish finally came out, everyone else at our table had already finished eating. No apology, no urgency -- just indifference. Meanwhile, plenty of servers were standing around doing nothing while guests were clearly frustrated. It's totally unacceptable for a restaurant that used to have high standards. Whatever has happened here, it's ruined the experience. We won't be back. read more

I just organized a holiday lunch meeting at Mezzo for my job and things were amazing! This was my first time at Mezzo, but we have held this event there in the past so some of our attendees were excited that this year it was being held there again. The food was amazing! My favorite part was definitely the desert chocolate truffles. Which I was so excited that the staff was willing to box up and let me take the rest home to enjoy! The event space was also very spacious and secluded which was important for our meeting before the lunch. I highly recommend Mezzo and am excited to go back again! My boyfriend and I also recently moved to the Dublin area and I am so excited to plan a date night at Mezzo so he can have a chance to try it as well! read more

We used Mezzo's upstairs private dining space for a reception-style birthday party for 40 guests. Our event coordinator, Tina, was super helpful in organizing the space, determining the proper seating configurations, and helping with menu selection. The restaurant staff on the day of the event were excellent. We had 2 dedicated servers taking care of our party and the service was top-notch. The appetizers and pizza were delicious. The arancini, veal meatballs, and prosciutto-wrapped scallops were especially tasty. The event space was wonderful. Great hospitality and excellent food. We'll certainly visit Mezzo for dinner (reservation scheduled for next week already) in the future and look forward to having another party there soon. read more

Located on a charming street corner in a two-story building, this Italian restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was welcoming, though we felt the comment about having to leave by 6 PM due to a reservation was unnecessary--two hours is more than enough time to enjoy a meal. The pizza was fantastic, and everyone at our table loved it. The gnocchi were delicious, but the pappardelle was overly greasy for our taste. The biggest letdown was the carbonara, which tasted more like fast-food pasta than a quality Italian dish. Overall, it's a nice spot with standout pizza and gnocchi, but some dishes and service details could be refined. read more

Tuesday night at Mezzo Dublin is retail priced wine night. That alone should make you want to schedule your night out immediately. Aside from that, the location and decor are charming and inviting - letting you enjoy a casual drink in the bar area or a three-course meal in their dining room. The service was excellent and they threw in a free chocolate lava cake + vanilla ice cream for my birthday complete with lighted candle! I'm only giving 4 stars because it lacked ADA accommodation. Very tall step to get into the restaurant and no handicap stalls in the bathroom. I have mobility issues and this is very important when I'm choosing where to dine.

Barcelona was once one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions and somewhere we would…read morerecommend without hesitation, which made this visit especially disappointing. We returned to celebrate another important milestone, hoping for the memorable experience we had come to associate with the restaurant. While the staff made an effort to recognize our celebration, we ultimately left wondering whether we had made the right choice. From the moment we walked in, the reception felt surprisingly cold. There was none of the warmth or welcoming atmosphere you expect from a restaurant at this level, especially one that has built a reputation as a destination for special occasions. Our server, however, was genuinely one of the bright spots of the evening. She was friendly, attentive, and clearly wanted us to have a great experience. There were a few hiccups along the way, including our bill arriving incorrectly and needing to be corrected, but her positive attitude and willingness to make things right more than made up for those mistakes. We ordered the Empanadas, Patatas Bravas, Chorizo al Vino Blanco, and the Bistec. The Empanadas were easily the standout of the evening and the one dish I would wholeheartedly recommend. The remaining dishes, while technically well prepared and cooked properly--especially the Bistec--simply lacked the depth, balance, and boldness of flavor that should define a meal at this caliber. Dish after dish left us waiting for that moment when the flavors would come alive and take our palates somewhere memorable, but it never happened. At this price point, I expect more than food that's merely cooked correctly. I expect flavors that surprise me, dishes that are thoughtfully layered, and an experience that leaves me talking about the meal long after I've left. Instead, I found myself thinking of several restaurants--some at the same price point and others even less expensive--that deliver a far more memorable culinary experience. Nothing we ate was bad, but very little was exciting. Unfortunately, that made the meal feel forgettable rather than worth celebrating. The restaurant also brought us a complimentary molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream to celebrate our occasion, and it was absolutely delicious. We sincerely appreciated the gesture, and ironically, it ended up being the most memorable thing we ate all evening. It's honestly the one item that would make me consider coming back. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to detail extended beyond the food. The restroom trash cans were overflowing, something I'll include a photo of with this review. It may seem minor, but details like that matter. Restaurants that position themselves as destinations for special occasions succeed because they consistently get the little things right. We also expected that, knowing we were celebrating, a manager might stop by to ask how everything was. No one ever did. This wasn't a bad dinner. In many ways, that's what made it more disappointing. We arrived talking about how Barcelona was one of the best restaurants in the city and a place we had always recommended with confidence. We left thinking about all the other restaurants--some at the same price point and others less expensive--that would have delivered a more flavorful and memorable experience. After this visit, I'd be much more hesitant to return or recommend it to others. I genuinely hope this was just an off night, because I'd love to see Barcelona become the restaurant that earned our enthusiasm in the first place.
