    Mezeh in Bowie, Maryland.
    Joseph S.

We had lunch at Mezeh at the Bowie, Maryland location today. It has been a few years since I have been to a Mezeh restaurant. It was a great experience. The food was delicious. The server gave us large food portions. The workers were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean. The bathrooms were clean. The restaurant has a fun and trendy ambiance. Lots of parking but due to the way the shopping area is designed you may have to walk a little bit to get to the parking. I downloaded the Mezeh smart phone app while I waiting in line to place my food order and I got $5 off by downloading the app. I will be back for sure!

I went here on an early Saturday afternoon a couple of hours after opening. The food did not appear too fresh. The store was pretty empty so service was fast. Ambiance is pretty standard compared to other franchises, but it was clean. It would be nice to see fresher food items. Also, parking is a bit chaotic depending on time of day.

My byo-bowl was quite delicious, though really considering the experience, taste, and price compared to the competition (Chipotle & Cava) I would say they didn't quite impress me. They offer ample variety, with very unique flavors, and combinations- however ordering via the app it wasn't very user friendly to balance my bowl. They didn't offer the option via app or online ordering to do 1/2 portions or 'on the side' I opted for mixed green bowl, with added on extra cost shredded lamb, maxed out my ten topping choices with a variety of veggies, and 2 sauces. They got my sauces wrong, they gave me hearty portion of meat, but skimped on balancing the ingredients- and overloaded with the sauces Everything was well seasoned, moist, juicy delicious- but overall small toppings portions. Also the free pitas were really hard (stale). Overall, glad I tried, again a decent dinner, but really wasn't impressed compared to our other go-to eateries

Absolutely delicious! Admittedly, I had not been to this Mezeh location since the grand opening Yelp Elite event in 2019. It was this location that opened my eyes to Mezeh Mediterranean in the first place. I got a bowl and it's just like their slogan says "seriously good food, made from scratch". All of the toppings were fresh, well seasoned and plentiful. Thanks for reminding me that the Mediterranean, healthier version of a Chipotle is still there!

Mezeh definitely is a place I can get behind. While I have never been to a Mezeh before, I love going to build your own bowl Mediterranean eateries. I liked the options that they have, I wish the lamb wasn't only available as shredded and the falafel is drier than I would like but I still thought everything tasted amazing. I loved all the sauces they have available and how flavorful everything was. I can see how their is service issues here, when I came to pick up my food there was only 1 person working the front and a line of at least 15 people. If I didn't order online, I would have left. Overall, I thought it was a great meal and I will definitely try some more bowls and proteins.

3 1/2 stars. Stopped by Mezeh in the food court at the Westfield Annapolis Mall. Mezeh is a chain in the MD, VA, NC area that serves Mediterranean bowls, wraps, and pita pockets. Pick you base (greens, rice, kale, grains, etc.). Then pick your protein. The proteins have a Mediterranean flavor and include chicken and steak shawarma, lamb kefta, and falafel. Then pick 8 toppings. There are about 30 toppings that include different types of hummus, salads, and vegetables. Finally, pick your sauce. I ordered a combination of greens with the grain of the day as my base with falafel as my protein. Toppings included two types of hummus, turnips, baba ganoij, eggplant, Turkish Salad. I saw the falafel was not made to order but I had it anyway and it was just okay. I have had much better. The hummus was good Eight toppings sound like a lot but they are small portions. I was not impressed the staff. I had some questions regarding how to order and the person taking care of me was very impatient. I like having this as a healthier choice in the mall, but I hope the staff can be a little friendlier in the future.

There are sooo many options in Bowie Town Center. Rather than driving around and struggling with deciding I selected Mezeh. I usually get the spicy lamb, but I don't eat red meat often so I selected a kale bowl with roasted veggies kale bowl shawarma delight. I mixed the two chicken options and I added all the veggie options. My favorite part of creating my bowl is selecting the sauces! I would definitely stop by if you're in the Town Center, and your looking for a healthy quick food option.

What a great addition to the healthy food scene in Bowie (hint: there aren't many healthy food options here)! It's the Chipotle style of food service where you order in an assembly line sort of deal. Food options all looked good to me and I was happy with my falafel bowl. The place was packed on a Saturday night. Long line of people waiting to order. That wasn't the fault of the staff; people weren't used to how to order and were taking a long time to ask "What's that red stuff? What's that grain stuff?" etc. So hopefully as soon as people get acquainted with Mediterranean ingredients like pickled onions and falafal and bulgur the ordering process won't be so looong. Good value for the price ($9.25 for a bowl, $8.50 flat bread wrap, $7.50 pita pocket, $5 kids bowl), especially considering that you're eating something so nutritious. You could pay as much for a fried mess elsewhere or come here for a healthy, flavorful meal. I'm going back ASAP!

Hearing that sentiment I was intrigued because I never thought about a fish gyro. So when it came out the staff asked what would I like one it. I'm not gonna lie the fish was cooked to perfection. Golden brown and looking like your favorite uncle made it. I asked for the works and as he struggled to close the sandwich I had a bit of excitement on my face, because I was ready for my 2009 chipotle wrapped gyro (not sure if they still fill them like that). And the first bite I felt like an influencer who got paid to give there opinion. Making one of those OMG I can't believe this food taste so good faces willing to throw anything around (I threw my napkin across the table for the effect). But seriously the gyro was really good, it was satisfying, light and immensely flavorful. The restaurant was clean and tidy. Its worth a trip if your in the area and your welcome for the gem!

But what if, instead of the Douglas fir-dominated city of Portland, those thriving communities of Wesen could be found instead in the small town of Laurel, Maryland, centrally located between the major metropolises of Baltimore and Washington, DC? And what if, as in the show, Nick temporarily lost his Grimm abilities and had to resort to observing what, to the rest of us, looks like human behavior? Nick would have to choose spots that would appeal to multiple communities. One such spot, located at 13600 Baltimore Ave, adjacent to PetSmart, is Jalapeño Fresh Mexican Bistro, which serves memorable Halal Mexican dishes (taco bowls, quesadillas, burritos) in addition to delicious Halal Afghan and Indian fusion entrees (Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Shank or Chops, the Chicken Tikka Club, Veggie Platter, Kofta, and Naan). There, Nick might come across the reformed Blutbad (wolf) Monroe, a clock repairer, who, to the disdain of his family, has shunned red meat and become a vegetarian; the Fuchsbau (fox) Rosalie, whose woge (pronounced vohguh) transformation is much more subtle and who shares a similarly powerful sense of smell; the helpful yet cowardly and often-meddling Eisbiber (ice beaver) Bud; or even one of the darker, more dangerous species--the Hexenbiest (witch-beast), Hundjager (dog-hunter), or Lausenschange (snake). All might find entrees for purchase that appeal to their cloaked or hidden forms. But, if you bring kids, be cautious to avoid the weeping woman seated at a corner table, outwardly showing grief for her lost children. She might just be La Llorona, a specter even a Grimm should be wary of.

Continuing my alphabet series, now onto K is for Krazi Burrito…read more Introduction: I was already familiar with the Krazi Burrito brand as I attended a Yelp event in August 2023. At the time, I met the owner (Nomie), sampled food, & was an awesome experience. Please see my 5-star review from then. At the time, I said one of these days I need to go back here. I don't often go to College Park, but I kept this in the back of my head. That "one of these days I need to go back here" came on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The next time my girlfriend & I were in College Park was 5 weeks later, today, Sunday, May 18 for College Park's Spring Street Fair. We had a Meetup walk in Greenbelt, which was a little shorter than we thought. We were originally going to eat lunch, College Park Day, and then a 3 PM back in Greenbelt. But considering the walk was shorter, I checked the movie schedule and said 12:30 could work, and we could go to the Fair after, which made sense. As it turns, we got there shortly before 3 PM. I never looked at the schedule, but there was a fold-up sign saying to scan the QR code to see the schedule of events. I looked and exclaimed to my g/f Nomie from Krazi Burrito was doing a presentation at the Culinary stage. I said we gotta find this stage, and walking just 2 steps, I said it's right here. Nomie remembered me and was friendly. He gave a great presentation. I was thinking I need to get around to this Krazi Burrito review, and just so happened to be next on my alphabet series. Experience on Sunday, April 13: We had a College Park Meetup walk that day, and I suggested we do this Ghost kitchen. You have to put the order ahead of time although they have screens you get there too. I live about 15 miles away and were making 2 stops on the way. Wanted to put in the order on the computer before leaving as opposed to on my phone and driving. We estimated the time but were about 25 minutes early. A kitchen staff member came out, and I said we were a little early, so if it can be ready early, it'd be great. They were done a little early, which was nice. We enjoyed our burritos on the limited outside tables. Wow, these are quite possibly the best burrito I've ever had. My g/f shared that same sentiment. The burrito is so flavorful, steak is tender and various other ingredients were fresh & well seasoned. In addition to the burrito, it comes with a boba tea! That was excellent as well. I knew the burrito was excellent from the 2023 Yelp event, but I'll definitely will need to come back again and try the kabob & other items in the future! Thanks again to Nomie & the kitchen staff for making such delicious food.
