My wife expects 5 star resorts and she said this place exceeded the typical 5 star experience. The bedding, linens, amenities were awesome. They had live music and great food and drink options at the head cabin. Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. Don't miss a tour of Signor Vineyards, a 10 minute drive West. The most beautiful vineyard and cool experience!

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

The Trueheart Hotel - The outdoor fireplace at night

We went in…read moreto this knowing it was on a busy road, but that was one of the bonuses, because we were in walking distance of everything. We really only heard traffic during the day, it was pretty quiet at night, and day traffic didn't bother us. We stayed in Winterberry, and we sat on the cute porch in the evening with citronella (my boyfriend is a mosquito magnet, lol) and lightning bugs. The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. I will make note that you can see straight down into Winterberry from the door of the second floor cabin next door. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. Debbie was truly delightful, very sweet. She brought the biscuit basket we ordered for our final morning. The biscuits were really very good, they come in the cutest setup, with the biscuits sitting on a bread warmer. Great experience overall. If we vacation in Fredericksburg again, we will definitely stay here.

The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The only downside is it is located on a slightly busy road with bright lights that make it hard to darken the interior. If you need to sleep in the dark this can be an issue. You also might hear loud trucks, cars or people nearby.

Think about an olden house with modern amenities like fridge, hot tub, TV, microwave, and electric fireplace. Thankfully, I didn't even have to churn my own butter. Just a few miles off the strip we arrived at the barn. One of four options when staying at the farm. Makes no sense to even beat around the bush, the goats, nearby donkeys, and the deer....WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Provided breakfast food from Lupe included casserole style muffins with sausage, eggs, cheese, and hash browns. Next days breakfast was similar with ham, eggs, and cheese muffins. Both served with sour cream, Serrano based red salsa, and fresh fruit from the local HEB. Nothing like strawberries and cantaloupe with a pinch of table salt. Again, old school meets modern. I knew the salsa wasn't made by a German! Finally, we escape from our own personal ranch to get away from our extremely needy cats and child. What do you get as temporary residents of said property? Old Mouser Cats! The herd was 60% I'm not even gonna let me touch followed by a few tidbits of love and screaming into the door you just entered to settle down. PET ME NOW!!! Sweet creatures. Made this weekend perfect! Note the Yelp pics of the diverse movie selections for your viewing pleasure. Young Guns was still in the DVD player followed by the wife's selections of murder mystery...murder mystery...followed by the local forecast. Hot tub was used by the wife; I had to abstain due to a recent surgery. Next time we visit the barn we will be in full force!

From the moment that you enter the gate at the end of the drive way you see the beauty of the area and feel the serenity . Tim and Rose are both extremely friendly people who truly love their life and the place they call home. Each of them takes pride in the responsibilities they have and in the business they have created. This is evident from the cozy design and decorating of the barn and adjacent cottages, to the care of their animals and land. The accommodation were amazing ; clean, comfortable and included everything we needed. In fact , we are planning another stay in just a few weeks. I can not write this review without mentioning the amazing breakfast baked by Rose!! Everything was delicious! There are a plethora of things to do in the area. Tim and Rose do a great job of answering questions and providing information about local wineries, restaurants and other interesting things to do. Thank you Tim and Rose!

Unfortunately, Texas was hit with torrential rain and a flash flood watch, flights were being canceled, and the Hill Country was experiencing significant flooding. Given the circumstances, we made the difficult decision that it was not safe for us to travel. We contacted Cottongin to ask if they would work with us on a refund, partial refund, or even a rain check. We would have gladly accepted a rain check and returned in the spring. Instead, we were told there would be no refund, partial refund, or rescheduling and that we should have purchased travel insurance. We lost $1,000 on this reservation and received absolutely nothing in return. Another couple traveling with us also lost $1,000. We understand that cancellation policies exist, but we were disappointed that there was zero flexibility given the extreme weather conditions and the fact that we were asking to reschedule--not simply walking away from the reservation. We would have happily returned to Fredericksburg and stayed at Cottongin under different circumstances. Unfortunately, their decision has changed where we will stay in the future. We still plan to return to Fredericksburg in the spring, but we will be staying at a different property.

Long curtains flow from the ceiling and can be wrapped around your couch for privacy. I enjoyed relaxing with my book while waiting for my therapist. My therapist Rick was amazing. After the massage I relaxed with a mimosa in their beautiful outdoor jacuzzi. They also have a cold plunge. I didn't get up the courage to do that one yet. I wrapped up with a little sauna time and then headed next door for some coffee. This place is so peaceful and beautiful, it's hard to leave. This is definitely a full luxury spa experience I don't mind paying top dollar for and will return soon.

This was a mother/daughter girls trip. We made reservations to Hill Country Herb Garden restaurant…read morefor Sunday which happened to be Father's Day. We were seated immediately, the ambiance was nice, the gardens we walked thru outside were gorgeous. Our first waiter was aloof, he spilled water all over the table, cleaned it up...accidents happen no biggie but he seemed annoyed with us, when he was the one who spilled onto the table and into my friend's lap. Fortunately, most landed on the table. We had scheduled on line and the limit it showed was 8 on the first screen and then we were given a noted area where it asked how many people, we confirmed 9 people, we paid $180 for this reservation. It did charge for 8 (missed that in the email). When we arrived we asked the hostess ( young dark haired girl not friendly) she answered with an attitude and let us know we had booked for eight and NO they would not accommodate. Part of our group was seated. The rest of the group came in and saw that the two ladies on the end were so crowded at the narrow table it was going to make eating difficult. So I went to ask for a manager. The manager (Chris maybe, bearded guy). He was immediately, defensive and attitude-y. I asked him if it was possible for us to get another table moved over. "NO, the girl already told you. Not possible, we are booked ". Mind you I'm looking around and there are two tables in our room with people, us and another one AND Three empty tables. Each room had more empty tables than they did people. He tells me they are ALL booked. I'm like there is nothing. NOPE. I tell him there is no need to speak with that attitude and rudeness and then I go sit down because I'm not trying to ruin our trip. So a new waiter came, some ordered the lavender mimosas, peach Bellini, Bloody Mary, hot tea & champagne. The lavender mimosa got mixed reviews, very sweet. Bloody Mary and green tea were exceptionally good. We asked whether there was a sugar free coffee option, waiter didn't ever come back. We ordered chicken and waffles, salmon eggs Benedict, regular eggs Benedict and tuna ahi salad & a cinnamon roll. Chicken and waffles was cinnamon forwards but not really a Belgian waffle and the waffle was not hot, you got two chicken strips (the crust was flavorful but the chicken was a bit dry). Two of us paid extra for hot honey, it WASN'T hot or even flavorful! Both Eggs Benedict were cooked right but just warm. Tasted good but the classic breakfast fries could have been cooked longer. The tuna ahi salad was very good although the tuna was a small serving. Asked another waiter About the sugarfree coffee, he suggested and then came back with raspberry latte, tried it but it was weird...No one ever asked if it was okay, no one asked about the lavender mimosa even though we ordered another champagne and pushed it aside . The cinnamon roll was delicious but more of a bread pudding. Overall it was not a great experience. The customer service was lacking. I realize we showed up with an extra person( from the managers viewpoint) but they could have accommodated even if they said we'll try but if all the booked clientele show up then we will have to come get the table. Also after spilling the water on the table and some into a customers lap, the manager should have comped her champagne or something as an apology for the ruckus. Two tables in our section were empty the entire time we were there. There were multiple empty tables throughout the restaurant the entire time we were there. I can't recommend this place, very rude management and not at all accommodating, lacking customer service & the food was not up to par
