    TimberRose Barn welcome wagon!
    Danielle S.

TimberRose Barn is so charming! The two bedroom two bathroom set up is perfect when traveling in couples. It has a full kitchen which we loved! They leave breakfast fixing that were delicious. The sausage bread was my favorite. It was nice and close to the wineries and town, but not too close. It still gives you the country privacy you want when visiting Fredericksburg. Oh! Also don't forget to stop and say hi to the mini donkeys! We cannot wait to go back!

This is the best place to go in the whole wide world! I highly recommend ordering their gourmet meal! Ruth chris steak house quality!!!!!!

After hearing that they are well known for their little B&Bs this one stood out among the rest for our weekend trip. We were going to be visiting on our 15th anniversary and lucky for us they still had some Saturday night reservations a few weeks before our trip. We originally had the Evening Star reserved but a lovely woman from the reception reached out to us upon seeing our reservation and asked if we wanted to be upgraded to the Weber House - for no additional charge! This was an absolute yes! What a nice gesture since they knew it was our anniversary - based on the questionnaire during check out. Some of the buildings are split with multiple room offerings- like the main hall- the Weber House however we stayed in was just us. We had a cute porch, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hugeeee bathroom with clawfoot tub and a screened in outdoor porch. Some of the bigger houses you can rent have room for multiple people but ours was intended for 2 people. They also have a cute library with some books and DVDs you can borrow. The property itself was VERY quiet. When we arrived we checked in at the little office upfront. The girl working even walked us to our little house since we had never been on the property before. Whoever stayed at the house the night before had broken the glass on the little table in the kitchen which was a bummer, so we could not use that, and maintenance was off on weekends. But otherwise it was the cute quaint place. Bed was comfy, central AC even though the buildings themselves pre-date that. Each one is unique too! We especially liked sitting on the screened in porch at night and enjoying a bottle of wine. In the morning they promptly left breakfast in a basket at 9am at our doorstep that was home cooked. It was a very sweet inn.

My wife and I biked the Willow City Loop, and we were able to leave straight from the Hoffman Haus without any issues. But best of all, the staff hosted a Super Bowl party with great barbecue when we got back from our ride! They are truly the friendliest people.

The property is in a beautiful,…read moreremote spot about 20 minutes from Fredericksburg, right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Check-in was a breeze--we received a text with the door code and clear instructions. The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the perfect size for two. What really stood out were all the thoughtful extras. The fridge and freezer were stocked with eggs, milk, juice, frittatas, egg sandwiches, cinnamon buns, and even frozen waffles. There were cereals, snacks, a variety of coffees for the Keurig, a complimentary bottle of wine, and even a bag of treats for the animals on the property. The bathroom was just as well prepared, with essentials like toothpaste, Advil, band-aids, and bubble bath items. We've stayed in many places, but never one with so many considerate touches. Driving back late after dinner in Fredericksburg was a little adventure of its own. With the rain and light fog, we spotted plenty of wildlife--deer, raccoons, armadillos, possums, even a cat. Just outside the property, the resident llama decided to block the road until a gentle tap of the horn convinced him to move, while the mini-donkeys looked on. As if that wasn't magical enough, our headlights lit up a beautiful owl taking flight. After a wonderfully quiet night's sleep (a big plus for us!), we enjoyed coffee and fresh cinnamon buns, followed by egg sandwiches. Later, we took the bag of animal treats to meet the llama and donkeys. The llama happily munched away until he didn't want anymore, while the donkeys were a little more polite--though one would give a gentle nudge if we weren't handing out snacks quickly enough. They were absolutely delightful and made our stay even more memorable. This was such a relaxing, unique getaway. The cabin has internet, TV, and Roku for Netflix, though we never even turned it on--this place was simply too peaceful to want any distractions. We'll definitely be back to enjoy this little slice of Hill Country paradise again.

The breakfast was very good, served fresh and hot. If you're looking for a relaxing Bed & Breakfast in the Texas Hill…read moreCountry with super hospitality, a pool, and beautiful lake views, Justin & Jean Robinson's "Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake", managed by Justin as "operator and breakfast chef" is the place to go ! We stayed there from Thursday April 23rd - Sunday April 26th 2026. It was like living in an Italian Villa and you would be hard pressed to find a more gracious host and chef than Justin anywhere ! He's been doing this for over twenty years ! We arrived at the Lakehouse around 3:00 pm and were immediately welcomed by Justin who carried our bags to our upstairs Medici Room and gave us a tour of the house. Justin also provided us with excellent tips on things to see and do in the area, as well as suggestions for restaurants for lunches and dinners. Thursday evening, we ate dinner on the outside patio of Gennaro's Trattoria where we enjoyed their Authentic Italian Kitchen. Friday morning, we enjoyed a delicious omelet breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room overlooking Canyon Lake and great conversation with other guests. Following breakfast, we took a leisurely drive down River Road to the quaint town of Gruene (that's pronounced "Green"). There, we had lunch at the Gruene River Grill, followed by a relaxing stroll through the many antique and boutique shops in Gruene, and a visit to Gruene Hall, Texas' Oldest Dance Hall. We then returned to Canyon Lake and enjoyed some merlot wine and cheese and crackers (which we had brought with us) on the Lakehouse's covered outdoor patio overlooking Canyon Lake. We had dinner at Canyon Lake's Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill which offers a full menu. On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a delicious Belgian waffle breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. Following breakfast, we drove to the town of Blanco and visited Arnosky's Flower Farm. After walking around the beautiful flower fields, we bought some beverages and snacks inside Arnosky's barn and sat in the chairs on the barn's covered back porch patio overlooking the flower fields, humming bee feeders, and bird feeders. You could sit there a long time as the scene is ever changing. From Arnosky's, we drove to Tillman's Cabin Resort in Blanco and ate lunch at the Rio Blanco Café overlooking the Blanco river. After lunch, we drove to the original 1885 Blanco Court House in downtown Blanco where we took a leisurely self-guided tour of the courthouse. We also visited Blanco's many antique and boutique shops. Saturday evening, we attended the 4 pm mass at Canyon Lake's St. Thomas The Apostle Church. At the end of mass, we witnessed one of their congregants step up to the lectern with the pastor's approval, talk about what the bible says about a wife, ask the lady in the front row next to us to step forward, and then bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him in front of the entire church congregation, and she said "YES" and they kissed. What a beautiful proposal ! Following mass, we had dinner on the outside patio of Canyon Lake's Elio's Osteria e Pizzeria. On the evening drive back to the Lakehouse, we saw lots of white tail deer in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a delicious scone and quiche breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. We again enjoyed conversing with the other guests as we had every day, and then we packed and headed home. Sorry for the length of this review but my wife and I thought readers might enjoy hearing about what one can do from The Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake. The private on-property pool was the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. I agree with all the previous visitors who raved about Justin's fantastic breakfasts! Day 1 included orange scones and a delicious zucchini fritatta and roasted potatoes - incredible. Day 2, by special request, included strawberries Romanov and eggs benedict with sausage. Thank you, Justin, for the wonderful food and conversation. We highly recommend this gem and can't wait to visit again soon!
