I have read some of the reviews here and I respect everone personal experience. I had my first visit and I will affirm that overall it was a positive experience. What I will say is that the staff at the front desk and at the intake process may be curt but they ultimately respectful. I work in customer service and I can sympathize with what they go through. The daily workload is taxing to say the least and the constant exposure to people can and does wear people down. To cope, niceties are given the boot and people stick to just the facts. Ultimately behind the facade I could tell that the staff care. They are just trying to survive. Once I saw and interacted with Dr Winsome Parchment I was very grateful that I allowed myself to go through with the appointment instead of cancel and reschedule with another practice. Office experience is absolutely awful. The staff equal is but not all horrible. All providers are perfect. Office manger is a ' see you next Tuesday'. I would never recommend anyone to visit and keep coming back to this office. Please let them lose their high power. read more

She cut my baby during delivery. I started with Metropolitan when Dr. Slader and Dr. Peace were there. I tried to follow doctor Slader, but couldn't keep up with her location changes. Dr. Peace left without giving me any notice at the start of my infertility journey which lead me to work with Dr. Parchment by default. As a Black woman, I felt more at peace having a Black OBGYN, but then things shifted. They added Caroline and a few others and my entire experience was negative. I ended up going to a fertility clinic then got pregnant so during my first few months of pregnancy I was told that I would have to follow up with an OBGYN outside of the clinic. (Follow your instincts ladies) due to my work schedule Metropolitan was the most convenient. I only had one good experience there during my pregnancy, and I attributed that to receiving care from a midwife who was pregnant at the time and also conceived in similar ways. At time I went to that office and Dr. Parchment talked to me like I was a child (I'm pushing 40s). Caroline had that very dismissive attitude particularly when I expressed discomfort. My experience is very much what is now being vocalized in the media (mistreatment of pregnant Black women). I appear very naive to many so it's at time easy for people to try to mistreat or dismiss me, and I didn't want to believe it myself. But again my instinct push me to look for another doctor six months into my pregnancy but due to insurance my search was complicated so I was stuck. The final experience that had me turn away and write this review: Dr. Parchment took full responsibility for cutting my baby's back during delivery and never addressed it until 4 days later when she came to sign my release papers. We found out of the incident when visiting my baby in the NICU 5 hours after her birth. Now we attend the same church so if she cares to read that review I hope that somethings change on her end. And I was advise to pursue a lawsuit, but I decided that no amount of money would erase that scar, so I wrote this long review. I haven't been to an ObGyn since my 3 wks check up 11/6/19. I'm just terrified of medical mistreatment so unless I have a serious need I won't seek medical help. read more

Finally decided to give this place a review after my second visit. The staff here are very welcoming and warm. Dr. Parchment has a warm bedside manner and gives great, helpful advice. I'm so glad to be a patient of hers. I'm happy about the decision I've made to come here! My previous physician, located near Maplewood transit station, was nice, however the front desk clerks were very rude and nasty!! This place brings me peace of mind. read more

This is the only OBGYN I've ever been to and I'm now 26! I used to love this place, but now that I'm pregnant o realize the options are very limited. I'd only recommend this office if you're getting a yearly, need some advice for generic women's health, and if you want to have a conventional pregnancy. I wanted to do a water birth and was informed that wouldn't be an option, so I had to look elsewhere! This facility used to be good 5 years ago. I recommended a friend to go there for her pregnancy (NOW). My how things have changed, the doctor doesn't see a patient everyone besides her sees the patient. They don't follow up with your information thoroughly anymore and act as if they just graduated college. Things have def changed, decided no longer going. Oh they try to charge you for asking for clarity on an appointment and blood work over the PHONE. It's not the same go somewhere else. Covid must've taken all of the quality care away. read more

Wow just wow. Amazing experience on my first visit. Let's talk about this. Let me start my mentioning the medical assistant Quiyon. She is the sweetest most respectful person I've encountered in the medical field. She's caring, compassionate and very very understanding. God bless her. Now Dr. Niemann was the icing on the cake. She was sooooo profesional, compassionate and helpful doctor. I love to meet people who love what they do and who treat people with such kindness and respect. Then I called the office this morning and spoke to Stephanie, also very very helpful, sweet and respectful. I had a regular check up appointment in this office with a nurse practitioner. They called an hour before my appointment and asked if I can come in earlier. I was in the area so I went right over. I sat in the waiting room for a half hour until finally I asked at the front desk what was going on. There were about 8 girls sitting around laughing and talking. I got the evil eye from one of them and she said someone will be right out. I was finally brought back in a room and told to put the gown on. I obliged, and sat there for 30 minutes in a freezing cold room. I got up and left. I did not tell the front desk I was leaving (they were still too busy talking.) No one ever called me to check up on me or to apologize. Do not waste your time in this place. read more

Because everyone is now coming here they're SUPER busy! I've been going here for over 3 years. I didn't get to meet Dr Parchment until the day of my delivery. They knew I was going to need a c section and they kept beating around the bush until the day of. I had diastasis recti. Dr. Parchment delivered my little baby boy in January and I can't thank her enough. This was a tough pregnancy with lots tearful visits but she never let me leave till I was 100%. I've been coming to Metropolitan for about 4 1/2 years now. I had one doctor that I really really didn't like she tried to guilt trip me for not wanting to be on birth control. And was pressuring me about it telling me to try it , especially because I have cramps it'll help etc etc. I was so uncomfortable with her. She was extremely rough with me to the point I would cry and she would show no compassion or empathy. Needless to say I stopped going there because Dr. Peace was always booked so I could never get another doctor. But finally I found my way back to metropolitan , once I did return that horrible doctor was no longer working there and I was over joyed !! So now I see Dr. Lynn and she's fabulous. She makes you feel so comfortable she's as gentle as a dove. If your a woman and a healthy one at that I'm sure you get your annual pap smear and its not something you look forward to getting. Well Dr. Lynn is super quick and it doesn't hurt a bit I swear. I highly recommend anyone to use Dr. Lynn. The facility itself is a little outdated but i can look past that because of the great doctors they have working there. read more

I drove 17 miles to get here due to reviews. Will be using this office for future visits. Loved the doctor ,she listen to my needs and concerns and offered solutions i was looking for. Excellent. I've been coming here for the last 4 years, and my experience has been great every visit!.. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and very compassionate. My insurance has changed about 3 times in 2 years, and they have accepted every one. As far as Dr. Peace, she is very knowledgeable and has bedside manner which I believe many doctors lack in. Unless I move out of state, i refuse to go anywhere else for my check ups. read more
