This company delivers! We had our early 2000's builder's grade master bath remodeled and it is now modern and beautiful. When we moved in our lovely new home in 2003, I was particularly fond of the massive soaking tub. But as time wore on and trends changed, it wasn't as en Vogue. And as much as I love a good soak, it took way too much water to fill. What I never loved was the base quality shower "box" with the cheap sliding doors. I so wanted to bring my bathroom into the current era. Last fall (2019), we decided it was time...and that we deserved it. Metropolitan Bath and Tile was great from the in-home measurement (great guy) to the selection of custom cabinetry, sink, tub, tile, and fixtures with help from Wendy and Alex. Our installation team was professional, respectful, and made sure to ask for input and explain as they went along. When I recall their names, I'll add them. They did excellent work and deserve to me mentioned! Our only snag was the new soaking tub was back ordered from the manufacturer. The install team apologized and tried to keep us abreast of the ETA as best they could. It turned out to be longer than we wanted, a few weeks of not using our bathroom while waiting. But when it was placed in and the flooring finished, it was perfect. With a little interior decorating by yours truly bathroom looks like it belongs in a destination spa. Their work isn't inexpensive, but you pay for quality and peace of mind. Sorry it's taken so long to post a review. My wife insisted on this company. I was against it because of the outrageous cost to just do a 32" shower stall. $12,000+. Ridiculous, and we had the tile. This will probably bother me the rest of my life. The job was done well but there are so many other companies that could have done the job for half the price. You are paying for sales people that hold your hand and a showroom to show you your options. Some people need this, I don't. My wife apparently did. My sister just got a whole bathroom remodel including all the walls removed down to the studs, new tub, glass door, ceramic floors and walls, double sink vanity and all fixtures. All for $8,000. Her job looks just as good for so much less. If you don't mind paying inflated prices, by all means hire this company. read more

We contacted Metropolitan Bath and Tile (MB&T) for a Master Bathroom remodel. Throughout the entire process, we felt that the company was attentive and professional. We had visited the showroom in Towson first, to get an idea of the workmanship. Our estimate appointment was done at our convenience on a Saturday by Dave and our proposal appointment with Wendy and Alex was done during a weekday, so that we would be relatively uninterrupted while discussing the options. Just like every homeowner, we had a budget, and we feel that Wendy and Alex kept that in mind during our discussions. There was never any complaining when we asked about leaving something out, or asking what the price difference would be between two or three possible options. We eventually made all of our choices and signed the paperwork. It was almost a complete gut and remodel, as we were eliminating a corner tub; expanding the shower; and having new tile for both the shower and the floor. Two weeks later, we ended up visiting again to discuss options for replacing the vanity countertop, which we agreed to. It was pointed out that, due to the late addition, that the countertop might not arrive in time for our job, which was understandable. We did have some time restrictions for when the company could start the work, but the company worked with us on that. The initial crew, Tom and Cole, showed up on time; prepared the jobsite; and went straight to work. This process continued for the entire week. We felt that Tom and Cole treated our house as if it was their own; the quality of their work is amazing. This continued for the other members of the crew, Kevin and Charlie. To our great delight, the countertop arrived in time (thanks to Wendy putting a rush on the order) and the entire bathroom was finished a day earlier than the initial time estimate. We could not be happier with the result. We expect to enjoy our new bathroom for many years to come. We would not hesitate to either recommend or use Metro Bath and Tile for any other remodel job in the future. read more

We just had our master bedroom remodeled by Metropolitan Bath and Tile. From start to finish we were extremely pleased with the extraordinary care we received. We started the process at the showroom. Our consultant, Wendy, was very knowledgeable and professional. She walked us through the process with great care and patience. After we picked our tile and fixtures we scheduled to have the work done. When all of the supplies came in the work began. The gentleman who did the work arrived, introduced himself and told us how the work was going to proceed. His name was Paul. Paul is an incredible man. He is extremely clean and organized. When he arrived for work each day, he would lay down drop cloths to protect our carpet. He was very careful when he brought the supplies and tools in. We had no dings on the walls and the carpets remained unsoiled. We are so pleased with our new bath. I can now shower safely. I am unable to stand in a shower. Metropolitan Bath and Tile designed and built us a roll in shower that I use with a shower chair. The bottom line is that MBaT is a fantastic company to put your trust in. They are going to start work on our second bathroom very soon. . read more

The price given was atrocious. Be super aware when you walk in that you're going to be charged at least double it will cost for a GOOD job. We had our master suite completely redone for less than half the $51,000 they quoted us. read more

When you have projects and complicated logistics and schedules; things can (and usually will), go wrong. But when things go seriously wrong and the company steps up and makes it right.... it's as good as it gets. The acrylic pan on the bottom of my newly tiled shower would not drain the water off. It was possible the pan was defective. (not sure). They pulled that out and started over at no cost to me. It was a massive undertaking, almost starting over as far as just the shower goes. They made it right. I thought they were just a tad expensive at first. but when I got three estimates I had one person WAY too cheap and thought there HAD to be something wrong. So I threw out that bid. Then there was one guy that was a few thousand more than Metropolitan. But he wanted to even rip out the window and drywall which seemed overkill. I took Metro's bid. Now if you do a remodel of your bathroom. You MUST make one thing certain. BE CERTAIN that you specify EVERYTHING. Go over the statement of work. Make sure they have electric baseboards instead of hot water baseboard heat (if you have electric heat!!). Go over EVERYTHING and take a few days to look at your bathroom. measure things. RE measure things. And then keep an eye on the progress. One of the bugaboos on this job (beside the water draining) was that Kohler sent the wrong glass door for the shower enclosure. Things will go wrong but this company stepped up and made them right. read more

Not only do they provide an excellent value in the design and quality of product, but to me, the most important aspect of their work is that they stand by their work, 100%, 24/7. I have had some issues with my project, to which they responded immediately, unconditionally. With their best people they resolved every issue I have had. It never mattered how long ago I had the work done, they were always there for us. What company does that in these times? If something goes wrong, because of design or otherwise...they will make it right. Use this company with confidence. You may pay a little more than Home Depot or Lowes, but I guarantee it will be worth it! read more

I would be remiss to let the opportunity pass without taking the time to recommend and thank the team at Metropolitan Tile and Bath for the fantastic job they did on my bathroom remodeling project. Tom and Chris were both amazing and professional, treating my home with the utmost care and consideration, in spite of working the week of the worst blizzard to hit the area in over 100 years. They were meticulous in cleaning up each day, and I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated being able to leave things in their capable hands. The completed project was delivered as promised; on time and on budget with no hidden costs or surprises. With so many Bathroom Remodeling companies from which to choose, I had a feeling of confidence the minute I called Metropolitan Bath and Tile. Your ads on WBAL radio intrigued me, especially since they said they covered everything and wouldn't throw in extra expenses if and when problems were uncovered as the project continued, like extra charges to remove mold (which I knew was inevitable with our 1970's home.) You were brilliant in making the bathroom "handicap accessible," "barrier free," or capable of "aging in place." And the real amazing thing? Not a drop of water splashes outside of the shower area when showering. I would say that my experience with Metropolitan Bath and Tile was pressure free and headache free.
