It was an easy process and I trusted AGS from the start. They have a large showroom of slabs of granite, quartz, etc. Who knew there were so many shades of white? About a week after ordering, Luke made a home visit to measure the vanity, etc. In no time, the countertop was ready to be installed. The work crew arrived and got right to work. The workmanship was good however both projects required clean-up by us. In addition the communication was lacking. At one point they left us with our kitchen splash half done over a weekend, with electric not working. We had to contract with an electrician to hooked up the GFI switches that they didn't hook up correct. We had guests that weekend and lost use of our kitchen. Inconsistent in showing up when they said they would. The latest, the door install, was not good. The door was installed with a different swing. The original door opened beyond 90 degrees. Because they installed the opposite swing now we cannot move large items from our basement without taking the door off. They didn't reinstall the light or cover once done, over that door, and didn't clean up. Also they didn't reinstall the door sensor for our alarm. They took it away with the old door. It was obviously there and a sound chirps every time you open the door. To top matters off we didn't receive a contract for any of the work. This was all done on a hand shake. When I tried to pay the first time, after not being asked to pay by Danny, I called to pay by CC. Was told they don't accept credit card. There website says they take VISA, MC, Cash, and Check. Ended up paying by PayPal. We still don't have an invoice for the work completed, any warranty information on the labor or door, and no way of knowing what they are. We spent an extra $120 for the electrician to fix their work, will spend another $49.95 plus shipping to get a door sensor, and spent time in both cases cleaning up their mess. This company is focused on bath and kitchen and insurance work. If you are looking for cheap work done okay, use them. If you are looking for a high quality business that communicates well, keeps you informed, shows up on time, and cleans up well, look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, our experience was the worst we have had with a contractor over 52 years of being a home owners and four houses. Our young salesman is apparently the owner's son. When we made our initial selection of LVP flooring, he said that the material would be received by them in a week and a half and installation would be schedule in about a week and a half after that. At about the time the product was to be received by them, we received a call from another employee stating that the product would not be produced by the manufacturer for another month and a half. ( The salesman should have checked availability before providing an approximate installation date.) Back to the White Marsh store we went to select a different flooring. The second selection arrived and installation was scheduled. On the day of installation (it was to be a two day installation which the salesman failed to say), Lou and Dan arrived. The installation involved the removal of cut stone tile and mortar. The installers failed to put up any dust barriers as contractors had done to protect the rest of the residence from dust and debris. The installers put dirty had prints on the walls and adjacent flooring. To add insult to injury, they "glued" down a stair nose piece and a transition flooring strip using latex caulk rather than a true adhesive which was totally ineffective. Top Notch partially reimbursed us for the Merry Maid cleaning crew we brought in and one of their employees did come and properly glue down the stair nose piece and the transition flooring piece. Viewing all of the other very positive reviews of Top Notch, we were very surprised by our experience. The salesman, Joey Jr., was not as responsive as he should have been. The vetting of their installers needs massive improvement (BTW, our installers were not employees, but subcontractors). If you deal with Top Notch, use the Bel Air store where our friends had a much better experience. We will NEVER use Top Notch again!

The first visit went so well! I was able to get multiple things fixed and scheduled a larger job which was basically a bathroom Reno due to a leaking pipe. The work started off great and the team was really communicative. Then we ran into a small issue where I felt some work was improperly completed and wanted to work through it and that's where it all fell apart. The receptionist was extremely accusatory at first but did eventually call to apologize and I hoped things would be better. Once I talked to the owner he seemed really understanding and accommodating and even sent me a really thoughtful response as they were working though the issues with me so I had high hopes that we would fix the issue and continue on with the work, only they just stopped communicating with me completely. I would have fully understood if they came to a conclusion and explained to me why but they chose to do nothing and that was really disappointing. Now I have a half finished bathroom and construction debris that they left behind that I'm having to pay a new person to finish the work and clean up behind them. The worst part is I had already referred them to a friend of mine who needed some work done and had to go back and tell her, never mind because if you can't trust them with a minor inconvenience how can you trust them with a major job?! I will say if you just need some minor handyman work then go for it because it doesn't seem like my experience with them is their normal experience, but be leery and keep every record along the way.

The walls were framed, painted and shelving units installed. That all had to come out, floor demolished and repoured. Framing had to be repurchased, installed, painted and shelving units reinstalled. We are out over $14,000. Honorable contractors would not have left us in this situation. We did not learn this job failed the final building inspection until after the statute of limitations ran out. Builder never called for it. It's okay, Karma baby. One day it will come back at both of them.
