I got nails tips and different nail color on each fingernail and while I am very happy with how it looks, the technician kept using drill on me so so much even after me telling her I have carpel tunnel and telling her it hurts. All technicians are trained in filing and drilling shouldn't be forced on a client. Be firm or talk to the owner, she is very nice! I was very happy when I left but have been in pain for last few days. The place itself is very clean and the owner is very nice like I said but I would like the technicians to be more empathetic and listen to clients who say they DON'T want their nails drilled!!! Just happened to walk-in to this place looking for a last minute manicure and I was blown away. It was such a big space, so clean, and it was run with military precision. They sign you in on an iPad, offer you beverages, and make sure that they communicate with you every step of the way. On top of that, they had great colour selection and the technician did a beautiful job. It was super fast but meticulously done. I will go out of my way to come back here every time I'm in Calgary. went with a friend to get a new set done very last minute and got in. she was switching from powder dip to poly gel. poly gels are my preference as they not as heavy and more breathable. From wait time to chair, it was quick and efficient and allowed enough time to pick out colours. nail tech didn't clean the underside of my nails and some gel remained at first but was quickly fixed by the nail tech after. the price for the overall set was pretty expensive in comparison to most places. read more

Visiting Calgary for work for the 1st time and needed an sns fill (dip powder) and pedicure. Jumped on Yelp and came across Metropolish17. I was extremely hesitant becuz I had no idea what to expect of a Canadian Nail Salon; yes I'm an American. Man was I pleasantly surprised and relieved. The salon was beautiful and everyone so professional. Tara (owner) and Yen (nail tech) were so accommodating; even offering me a skirt robe to put on instead of my leggings which would only lift to my mind calf during my pedicure. The salon offers a wide variety of drinks; water, tea, coffee, lattes, wine. Ill certainly be back as my nails turned out great!! read more

This was one of the best manicures/pedicures I have ever had. The modern clean design of the salon was perfect and it was professional and tidy yet warm and inviting. The polish selection was huge and it was very easy to show them a picture of what I was looking for and the nail technician perfected it. I was pleasantly surprised with the time they took with me and I never felt rushed. The complimentary beverage was an added plus and Tara checked back with me along with other staff members several times to make sure I was enjoying my services. After my nails were painted I was left for a while under a dryer and not told where my tech was going she just left, I had 3 others come and check on me. I was visiting Calgary for the first time and found this place online. It was better than I expected. I got a mani/pedi and got my eyebrows done. Helen did a fantastic job with my eyebrows! The mani/pedi came out really great too. Overall, fantastic customer service, esp by the two women who run the front desk. I felt like a valued customer! Great space too. I went here several months ago for a manicure and pedicure. The overall style of the business is nice and modern and the coffee/tea they offer was nice. What wasn't nice was my manicure/pedicure- instead of cutting my cuticles with the usual cuticle cutter, the lady used some sort of mini cuticle drill bit type thing- I've never had that with a manicure/pedicure before- had I known what would happen I would have told her to stop using it! Not only did she drill bit away my cuticle but also the skin right below! The next day I noticed that my skin was peeling away a bit in those areas and it took forever for the skin there to get back to normal. Wish I would have taken a picture! Also, although the lady doing my nails seemed nice, there was a language barrier and she was incredibly difficult to understand. I wouldn't go back- too many other places to try. read more

This is my first visit. The staff is friendly and very responsive. They have a small bar menu which includes wine and beer, as well as non-alcoholic drinks...but it's Friday! I got a beautiful powder gel fill (umbre style) natural to white! Excellent quality and artistic value! I went here for the first time with my friend as I'm not from Calgary and the reviews were good. The pedicure was okay, we got the silver package which included a hot stone massage, they only rubbed my feet for a solid 3 mins with one stone. They did not bother to take off my calluses, so my feet barely looked I got them done. Also they went to town on my right big toe and it's extremely sore and red currently (today is Monday and I went on Saturday). Lastly to top it all off, the water tap from the pedicure chair 4 chairs down got loose or something and drenched us and my friend (mostly me) they gave us towels and attempted to dry us off but I practically sat in a massage chair for the remainder of my pedicure very wet and when I got up from the pedicure my back and skirt we still so damp. My friend and I have to go home and change before we went out which was very disappointing. And we were promised a discount on account of us being soaked, they only gave us 10% off so our pedicures still came over $60. It was quite disappointing experience and over I felt like they did not value the customer experience overall. Unfortunately I will not be coming back when I'm back in Calgary. read more

I won't be returning here. They kindly scheduled me last minute when I'd broken a nail however during my appointment I felt incredibly rushed, couldn't communicate with my tech and didn't get great nails in the end. I was disappointed that my nail tech didn't speak English fluently and I had to speak to the owner or front desk person who I really felt didn't listen to me, talked over me. I didn't understand that my tech didn't speak English so didn't bother asking the questions I needed, I would have appreciated being told the tech wasn't fluent because I had a few questions about technique and have had allergies. Maybe o have sensitive nails but it hurt when she used the electric file and I kept pulling away, hoping she'd move to a different spot. I have only had my nails done a few times and was excited by how sparkly and pretty they were and after I left noticed they got caught in my hair and were very rough and uneven. I filed them down myself along the cuticles so they didn't catch my hair. I was disappointed that the top coat polish didn't look even, my nails were not contoured and had little holes where the polish didn't seem to stick. The nail that broke was replaced with a tip and the nail below not shaped or filed, so beneath the pretty nail is a weird shaped triangular nail. The nails themselves seemed to last well, I just wish they'd been properly contoured and polished and that Id had a less rushed experience. I think if you can't acompdate a client to your normal standard, you shouldn't squeeze them in, or maybe tell them you can but it will have to be really fast. I can't speak for anyone else but when I have my nails done I like the experience of it, and want to enjoy it, if I want fast cheap nails and not an experience, I won't go to a place that serves alcohol, although I only had coffee. Lastly, I don't enjoy sitting there while the person doing my work speaks to others in a different language, it always makes me wonder if they're talking about me. That alone would be enough for me to not return, but all combined I definitely will stay away. I felt like they just wanted the money and didn't care about me as a customer. read more

I have been here twice in total, and the first time I came I had a great experience. The girl who did my nails was very nice and did exactly what I asked for. They offered me free drinks, which they advertise, and it was overall a great experience. The second time was not so great. When I first arrived the man doing my nails told me he couldn't do the set that I wanted for my nails, I didn't fully understand why, but it was not a big deal and I just chose another design. However, he was fairly rough with my hands and when he was cutting and shaping my nails it hurt more than usual. I got acrylics and they are all different lengths and not shaped very well. After about 2 weeks of having this set of acrylics, the acrylic on my pointer finger broke off, ripping off a chunk of my real nail. It cracked maybe 4 or 5 hours before it broke off, so I didn't have time to book another appointment to get it fixed before it broke. My sister also had an appointment at the same time as me, and her nail chipped after about a week and a half after getting them done. and on top of all that, in my last visit, I didnt get any drinks offered to me at all, while literally everyone else around me did. My set felt very rushed and I'm not impressed with their service this time around. read more

Be careful I got a bad infection on my toes and owner of the salon said to me I can give you my insuranc, looks like must happen often I approach her to notify her, I can real walk because of the pain I have and she run my vacation to enjoy with my sons and her reply back that I will give you my insurance it's very very bad, but, one thing she said is sorry. Initially, I really liked this salon. Until I decided to get shellac polish, did my opinion change. In my opinion, $65 is way too expensive for a manicure with shellac for it to chip only 2 days later. When I went back (3 times in the week) to get my nails fixed over and over again, The lady made it seem that it was my fault that my polish was chipping. Don't feel comfortable going back there now. Although they did refund my money, I still wasted 6 hours (with commute) that week getting my manicure re-done which was incredibly inconvenient. Not to mention, a few of my real nails fell off as a result of the polish chipping. Not worth the premium price!!! read more
