“He was very polite, nice and went above and beyond by removing my license plates (I didn't have the strength to do so).”

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I recently had my car towed because I parked in the parking lot…read moreof my mothers apartment (WINN Residential/Urban Edge). As frustrating as it was, I told myself "it is, what it is". I drive over with my partner and my mother and parked out front and was told someone would be there soon to help us. We get out of the car and I get a phone call from the dispatcher reminding me not to get close to the cars because there are dogs back there. I agree and we hang up. As I'm standing around smoking a cigarette, my mother is walking around their car-made gate (cars are used to block in towed cars) and my partner is walking along the sidewalk, also smoking, I get a phone call from the dispatcher again, this time screaming at me to get away from the cars (referring to my mother) and that he can see us through a camera. I tell him we're not going to do anything (what can we do with a blocked in car?) and that my mother is just looking from the outside. He then proceeds to tell me that if we go in there we would "pay for it". Meaning, the we would be attacked by dogs. I'm shocked that he's talking to me like this and I tell him, "Pay for it? That sounds like a threat, but okay, you don't have to worry about anything" He then interrupts me and starts cursing up a storm about him not "fucking threatening" me and that if I wanted a threat I could wait until tomorrow morning to pick up my car. He proceeds to tell me that he sees "that guy walking around over there" (referring to my partner) and I explain to him that he is only smoking. I tell the guy that his lack of professionalism is SHOCKING and that I can't believe he's talking to me like that. He says he deals with a lot of people that do "crazy shit" and so I tell him that we are not the ones to do "crazy shit" and he shouldn't generalize everyone. We hang up and shortly after, the person that we've been waiting for shows up. He was a nice guy and was very respectful. We complained to him about the dispatcher whose name we found out is Clyde. Anytime Towing is on the same lot as Hyde Park Auto Electric. I'm not sure if it is the same company or if the towing company uses their lot, but I would NOT want to associate my business with Anytime Towing when they have staff members with no respect towards customers in the community. If there are any other property managing companies out there that are using their services (including WINN Residential), I would find a towing company that has a little more respect for their tenants.

They are a predatory towing company. They trash your car and tell you that it wasn't them. Then…read morethey like to make threats over the phone on top of that. This place is nothing but a chop shop!!!!!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Always Towing, specifically with Kenny, the…read moreowner's oldest son. His behavior on the phone was unnecessarily argumentative, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. The issue itself was simple: payment information was being given over the phone. The card numbers had to be repeated several times, and Kenny was still having difficulty catching them, even telling his coworker to slow down. Somehow, instead of simply handling the transaction professionally, he became frustrated and argumentative. At one point, he basically said he didn't have to take my money and could hang up. Luckily I was helping my nephew because I would have not paid nothing and paid another tow company with honor. That attitude is unacceptable when you work in a customer facing business. Customers should not have to deal with someone becoming disrespectful because they're frustrated while doing their own job. Even when a customer is difficult or there is a misunderstanding, professionalism means knowing how to communicate, control your attitude, and de-escalate a situation not make it worse. What makes this even more disappointing is that Kenny is the owner's son. Whether he realizes it or not, the way he treats customers reflects directly on his father and his little brother Clyde Jr Always Towing. Being related to the owner shouldn't mean you get to speak to customers however you want. If you don't want to dispatch, take payments, answer phones, or deal with customers all day, then customer service may not be the right job for you even if it's your father's company. A business cannot expect to grow and maintain a good reputation when customers are treated with disrespect. People deserve basic respect. You never know who you're speaking to someone's wife, daughter, mother, or niece. Watch how you speak to people. You can be firm and still be professional. Unfortunately, based on the way this situation was handled, I cannot recommend Always Towing. The lack of professionalism and customer service completely overshadowed what should have been a simple transaction.
