I met personally with the owner, who offered me the opportunity to provide executive transportation services on an as-needed basis. From the beginning, I fully understood and accepted that work was not guaranteed and that assignments would be occasional. As part of the company's professional appearance requirements, I was asked to purchase formal attire, including a suit, dress shoes, a tie, and other accessories. This represented a personal investment of approximately $500, which I made in good faith, hoping to build a positive and lasting professional relationship with the company. To be fair, the company covered certain administrative expenses, including background checks, medical examinations, and licensing requirements. I acknowledge and appreciate that. However, after completing approximately four assignments, I stopped receiving work or any communication from the company. It has now been approximately two months without any contact, explanation, or professional follow-up. Additionally, I no longer have access to the driver platform. My disappointment is not about the lack of guaranteed work. I understood the nature of the 1099 arrangement from the very beginning. My concern is the lack of communication, transparency, and consideration toward someone who invested personal time and money to represent the company professionally. For an independent contractor, $500 is a significant financial commitment. I approached this opportunity with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine desire to contribute to the company's reputation and success. Unfortunately, this experience left me disappointed, not because of the number of assignments I received, but because of how the professional relationship was handled.
