In May 2021 I dropped off 5 pieces to be chrome plated and was told end of August to pick up. I added 1 small piece in July and was told it too would be finished with the original batch. August came and went and then the beginning of September so I called. I was told by Kim that it would be done the 17th, Friday, September and I would get a call. I never did until the 23rd, Thursday the next week! I picked up my 6 chromed parts and the quality is show quality! The problem is the timeframe told and delivered are completely off so if you're on a deadline add a month if you go here! read more

Had some trim straightened out and polished for my car. Good luck if you think you're going to find it NOS. And if you did it would be a fortune. Turnaround was around 90 days and it came out fabulous! Great conversation as well. Very friendly people. I'll be back and was well worth the 340 mike ride. read more

I called to see if they could repair a chrome strip on my car: the guy on the phone was not much help and just kept saying bring it in. I told him I'm in Lake Pleasant (about 98 mile round trip). . . Bring it in. Once at the counted a lady looked at it and said that the guy who does that work is no longer with the company but et me get someone to look at it. She went into the shop then came back asking if I could wait a few minutes. 20 minutes later she gets out of her chair and goes to find him but returns and asks if I can wait a few minutes. I picked up my parts and said that I think I now know enough abut the company and started to leave when she said that the problem is that they are a small shop. I walked out the door thinking that if they treat all customers like me they will get smaller. read more

I phoned Metro and talked to Kimberly Brown. I asked if I could get a quote by e-mailing the info over to them. She said yes, please do. I took the time to draw out the part, with dimensions. I also included photos of the finished part. I do quantiles of this one exact part. I waited one week with no response. I e-mailed Kim Asking if she had received my info and she said "Yes I did. I have put the request on chucks desk. kim". I waited another week and e-mailed her again asking if Chuck would be able to get a quote back any time soon. No response. To this day, 3 months have past and no response. Very unprofessional. My suggestion is don't take work here. read more

Very happy with the quality of work, price, and customer service. It's nice that they will work with you on a small order as one of the other reviews said. This was my first time having something chromed. I explained what I was looking for they walked through different options, explaining to me how the process worked and what they could do. They even made recommendations to keep the price reasonable, such as doing a single plate process instead of the full chrome. I was concerned that the single plating may not look nice enough, so they offered to take one of my six pieces and plate it so I could review and approve. Turned out it was easily nice enough for my project (especially for the price...maybe 1/4 the cost of the full process!) so I proceeded to have the rest of the pieces done. Picked them up today and am very pleased! One piece didn't come out as expected and they quickly noted their mistake and are re-working it. They are reasonable people and running a good shop. They kept me well informed of progress and followed through on their delivery dates. Considering I didn't have many options nearby, I'm really glad this worked out. read more

Not Happy- I paid another shop 375. to chrome a bumper. I was not impressed so I took it to Metro Plating. Chuck looked it over and said 1200. for it to be perfect. I agreed to it and waited 12 months! They never touched it and never called me to say they didn't want to do it. When I picked it up they had no answers. Avoid this place! To add to the anger issues now its all scratched up from sitting in their shop for so long!! read more

What a great experience working with Metro Plating. I had 2 sets of sink handles that had lost their finish, but were difficult to replace. I was happy to find this company that could re-chrome my handles and make them look like new. Working with Kimberly was a pleasure. We use Metro Plating on a monthly basis for our small/medium parts, and their quality is great for a fair price. Plating is thick enough to apply alternate finishes (satin) and does not wear down with minimal work. You must have realistic expectations when dropping off items at any plating shop. If you give them a crappy piece of metal, it will come back crappy. If you give them a clean piece, it will come back clean and beautiful. They are not miracle workers, they are plating on top of the quality that you already have. Plating shops are notoriously full of polish, so whoever says they are "dingy" knows nothing of the industry and has no experience with metal finishing shops!! Most of the plating shops in Phoenix have shut down, and Metro has absorbed the work of at least 4 other companies in the valley. They do a great job for us. read more

This shop held my bumper for four weeks and promised it in 3. They were to strip and straighten it . Then after a test fit, plate it. I called on a Wednesday of the forth week before picking it up and they said it would be ready in two days. Called before heading over. Yep, it's ready. They hand me the bumper in the exact condition I dropped it off. Wasn't stripped, wasn't straight. Unbelievable. Not only does this place smell like an ashtray, they run it like one. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Body shop sent bumper and headlight bezels to be chromed with promise of 3 day turn around. The parts belonged to a classic Checker cab, still operating and my only source of income, so I planned down time very carefully. It has now been more than 2 weeks and bumper is finally done but they neglected to do the headlight bezels at the same time. Can't wait anymore so I am not getting bezels chromed now. Worst customer service ever! Not a lot of places left that are chroming things, but avoid this one if you can. read more

I was quoted twice by chuck at $200-250 a bumper. So I brought my bumpers in, they said it'd be 3-4 weeks again no problem. I hadn't received a call for six weeks so I called in they said it'd be another couple weeks. At 9 weeks I stopped in to see them they said there'd be done tomorrow morning. I also asked for my bill I was told it would be 793. I'm not great at math but even 250 +250 isn't 793. I told chuck he quoted me at 200-250 he laughed, with another customer in the room, and said only metropolitans get that price, and laughed some more. I said I'd be back tomorrow after they called, when they're done. Figured I'd deal with it tomorrow. I never got a call so a half hour before they close I called and was told they were done. Yet no call from them. Went in to pick them up chuck came up to the counter, I asked what happened to to the 200-250 he said he never said that. I said ok what did you quote me he said he didn't. The thing is I would have been fine paying what I was quoted no matter if it was 250 or 400$ a piece. He said fine I can fxxxxx strip them and you can take them somewhere else. I said I just wanted my bumpers that I'd pay and I just want to leave. So if you decide to use them ask for quote on paper. I myself will be going elsewhere from now on. To top it off, a week before I dropped off my bumpers I had them polish a piece of trim for the same vehicle when I tried to put it back on the vehicle it was warped so bad it was not able to be put back on the vehicle. I mentioned that to chuck while dropping off the bumper he said they would fix it. I won't be taking it back for them to fix I will not let them touch another item of mine. They have the worst customer service I've come across in a long time. I also listened to chuck tell me how it's crap that people leave bad reviews without saying it to him personally well I'm glad I got the chance to do both chuck. Theses reviews are here to help other people make decisions. And I would steer any and all people far away from Metro plating. read more

I would give them negative stars, if allowed. My friend and I had some golf club heads stripped raw and they destroyed them. The base carbon steel was etched so badly that our clubs were destroyed. The owner stood by his work and would not give an inch. On top of this, I sent them photos and messages on FB messenger and they basically said they did not want to "argue with me on social media." Go somewhere else or just throw your parts in a lake somewhere if you want a better job done. read more

Was quoted a price and completion date by Josh. Went to pick up parts several days after promised completion, and they weren't even inventoried or put in work queue. Chuck and Kimberly told me that they would be done that same day. When I called the next day to confirm that they were done before driving over and getting another excuse, they told me they were done, but they were demanding twice what Josh quoted me. Chuck yelled at me on the phone and hung up. I've had nice work done by them before, but they are an absolute mess with regards to a business. And only a day earlier I allowed Chuck to talk my ear off about his love for Trump, his hate for Mexicans, and anything else that he found amusing. I will not be back. They can throw the parts away that I left with them because it not worth going down there and confronting Chuck for his lack of integrity. I'll never use this chrome shop again. Got my grill pieces back from them for my 41 Chevy and the details in the center emblem were almost completely filled in! And the chrome is bubbled in two spots! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We're talking about the focal point of the whole grill. The retard who owns this place just smiled and said thats the best we could do with this piece. Said we had to dip it in copper several times to fill in the pitting. Bring us a better piece next time. I looked at the pictures that I took of the front of the car before I pulled it apart and the original chrome moldings were not pitted, they looked pretty good to me. I spent over 1,000 bucks in their shop and they just shrugged and said they couldn't do anything about it. What a waste. Now I have to find another 41 Chevy center grill piece and try out another chrome shop. These guys will never get my business again. read more
