Was in town and needed to get both pedicure and gel mani. To start off, it was a super clean, spacious and welcoming salon/spa. My nail tech was friendly, however I know she wasn't happy when I politely declined a gel pedicure. When it came down to the gel manicure, I found it super odd how THIN each layer was. It was super sheer. I had to go back and fourth with her when I asked for a third layer. I have darker hands and two coats isn't enough, and she said if it's three it's too thick and looks cheap - I've had plenty of manicures and know none of that's true, especially when done correctly. Overall the entire service was priced on the mid-high range. So -- less than the one week mark, I already got a chip. Then a week an a half in my natural nail on one of my fingers starts to break at the base. And now that we're a few days from the two week mark, one nail is almost fully chipped away, and the rest are starting to lift. Probably one of the worst quality services I've had done based on how incredibly sheer she painted my nails. Serious waste of money. read more

I have been going to Metro Nails for a couple years now since it was close to my house. I have no problem with the cleanliness here. They always open a new pack of tools in front of me when i sit down and everything looks like its in place. I just have such wildly inconsistent experiences here service wise sometimes my pedicure is perfect and my nail tech is on point and other times like last week my manicure only lasted 2 days and my nail tech shaped some of my nails square like i asked and other rounded. I just never know what kind of day i am going to have. I might have a great experience or i might leave with one eyebrow shorter than the other after I explicitly asked for my brows to just be cleaned up. the prices are good but Its like russian roulette walking in the door. read more

I came here the day before my sisters wedding to get my nails done. Usually I'm an avid Yelp reader before I select any service place. However because of timing, I decided to just choose this place since it was close to where I would be getting my hair done....a decision I would later regret. I figured getting a regular pedicure and manicure wouldn't be too difficult...wrong again. First the pedicure: I paid $5 extra for the callus removal because I knew I'd need it. However he definitely didn't go to town as much as I know my feet require. There was a point I had to ask him to go over it again. And even then, he could have still done more. The other parts of the pedicure (cuticle removal) also could have been better. It just felt like a rushed job. The nail painting was also sub par at best. I feel like I could have given myself this service at home for free. I was clear about what I wanted (even repeated it multiple times). For the manicure I just wanted a REGULAR Manicure. So when he started filing down my nail bed (how you would if you were getting a full set) I was so confused. When he brought out the filing pen i even said it again that I'm just doing a REGULAR MANICURE. But he proceeded to file down my all my nail beds. It wasn't until he brought out the nail tips and I told him again I'm just doing a regular manicure that he finally understood. I wish he had just listened from the beginning so he wouldn't have filed down my nails. The manicure itself was also sub par just like the pedicures. He cut me twice and I had to ask him to do another coat of polish because it wasn't opaque enough after 2 Coats (it was a very light color). He also asked me to wash my hands after he had put lotion on them, which didn't make sense to me but I obliged. Clearly a mistake since I left with my hands drier than how it was when I walked in. During the drying I accidentally smudged my thumbnail so I asked him to redo it. The way he fixed it was so strange. He used a brush covered in acetone to wipe over it, but he didn't fully clean off the polish. So when he repainted it, it looked smooth, but as it dried you could see that there's an unsmooth layer underneath (see picture). I might as well have not asked to fix it. I didn't even bother to go back to have it fixed again because what's the point at this point. I paid $45 for the whole service, which to me is on the pricier end for a regular manicure and pedicure. I probably won't be returning not only because it's way too far from my home, but also I was not at all impressed. Perhaps other employees there might do a better job (while I was there multiple people came in requesting for specific people) but I don't care enough to find out. What I got was ok enough to get me through the wedding but not enough for me to come back. read more

I arrived at the location after calling first to ensure that they were not crowded. When the shop first opened, I used to visit here often. After I left the area, I stopped going there. In those days, the shop was always busy, so I had to check before proceeding on my most recent visit. After I was told that they were not busy, I headed over there immediately. When I arrived, it was about three people being serviced for pedicures. She asked what services I was having done. I was then directed to the pedicure area and handed a book with gel polish color swatches. I already had an idea of what color I wanted, so I looked through their availability to get a color code. She told me that the technician was still at lunch, but she would be with me soon. I continued to look at the colors and then my phone. A short time later, I saw a technician come out the back. I realized that I remembered her from the past and that she had done my nails a few times about three or four years ago. I saw her sit down in one of the pedicure chairs and begin folding towels. I thought to myself maybe this isn't the technician who is doing my nails. She then picked up her Starbucks cup and began stirring the contents and eating ice off the spoon. I looked in her direction still wondering if she was the technician or was it going to be someone else. She finally walked over to me and asked if I decided on a color. I told her the code and handed her the swatches. She returned saying that they did not have the gel polish and matching regular color because it was missing. I really wanted that color and had my mind set on it for a number of reasons. I looked through the swatches again and found another gel brand with a similar color. Lo and behold, that color was missing as well, so it was a no go on that one too. I then found another bright color and viola, they had both matching colors. From the time that she began my nails, she started multitasking too much. She was working the front desk, doing eyebrows and everything except starting my nails. For it to have been so few customers in the shop, she had a lot to do at the expense of my time. Once she got started, she did not stop again until my hands and feet were done. My nails look pretty good right now. The true result will reveal in about a week or so. read more

My BFF scheduled me an appointment here 6'28'2020, this is her regular spot. It was clean and they were taking all of the pandemic precautions mandated by the state. I was there just for a pedicure. My experience is was decent. I didn't give 5 stars because although I got gel polish on my toes, it chipped in the 1st week. Due to it being the height of the pandemic and I had no where pressing to go I did not make a big deal out of it. I will give them another shot in the future but just as a backup to my usual location. read more

I wouldn't mind the price of the quality matched. I got charged for a dip manicure plus a 10 buck charge and I'm still trying to figure out why. Here's the story: I went in for a fill with one broken nail, my thumb, I chose a simple dip powder to replace. The technician went and got a gel polish instead. He worked my nails, back filled and replaced my thumb nail and told me to wash my hands and as I'm washing my hands, my pinky nail broke. I came back, asked him to replace it and because he'd apparently worked my nails so much that they had become thin, I told him that he had to use the dip powder but do an ombré so that it filled evenly with the back fill he'd already done. Get this: my mans didn't even know how to do ombré. So he asked the other guy how to do it. I'm still trying to figure out where $55 is showing up on what I had done My results: the two nails that were replaced aren't even close to matching the rest. My previous set had a pink undertone and the ones that were replaced are obviously clear. I thought choosing a pinkish powder would offset it a bit but it didn't. My fill in is so poorly done that you can literally still see where my old set had ended. The pinky is horribly done because the technician was too lazy to take the entire thing off and only made space to put a new nail on and tried to back fill the tip which was Obviously outside his skill set and done horribly. I'm still trying to figure out where $55 is coming from. 0/10, would not recommend. They do nice pedicures tho as long as you don't need actual work done on your feet. read more

I called for an appointment and the staff was able to get me right in, even though they seemed busy (it was a Saturday, mid-morning). They carried my favorite fall color that is generally hard to find and my tech did a great job on my nails. I am very pleased with my experience and will definitely make this my go to spot. My initial plan was to give this place three stars and say the following: "Meh. Adequate mani and pedi. The work isn't super precise but it's not terrible. It'll do..." BUT THEN, the very next day, the polish on my nails is totally chipping and flaking off!! I haven't done anything strenuous with my nails. No dishwashing, no gardening, no scraping paint off of walls with my bare hands....In fact, all I've really done today is read, watch tennis, shower and eat a salad. WHAT kind of trifling manicure would disintegrate from that?? I really can't believe this. Any whoo...there two tvs. The sound is very low. I wish there was some other background noise to make the experience more spa like. My fill in gel manicure was well done. The color is shiny and almost flawless. Disappointed that my cuticles we're not treated. Altogether I paid 30 for the pedicure and 35 for the gel fill in. this was my first time in the salon First the positive: beautiful, clean salon. Very friendly, accommodating and professional. And now the negative: I asked for a manicure with dip powder. I was directed towards a station, while the girl was having a lengthy conversation with the hostess. I kind of figured she was getting off soon and she didn't want the hassle of removing the old dip powder. However, she was very nice and talkative and sweet while she was doing my manicure. She kept getting up and going to talk to a man who she claimed was her father. The entire time she was doing my nails all the other ladies in the salon we're coming over to watch and they were all talking amongst themselves. I seemed to be a star with all the attention my nails were getting. It took her 95 minutes to complete my nails! while filing my nails, she cut my finger tip and made a few more of them. Extremely painful. They looked good but I was extremely surprised when they charged me $60. I usually pay 40 at most salons anyway by the end of the day, every single nail was chipping, cracking, and just simply a mess. I can actually peel the powder off. Thinking back, and remembering that she had to open the dip powder and the fact that she kept running over to speak to someone leads me to believe that they are just beginning to use the dip powder and that she had no idea what she was doing. Long story short, they charged me $60 to be their test dummy and I hope they read this and get training to do it better!! I wish I could post a picture to show you just how bad it is. He used a brush and put thick globs on like acrylic fill. My nails are clumpy and lumpy, half the cuticles are covered, and I have chunks of dip underneath my nail. The color came out silver and red, when I complained that it wasn't the same color, he said the sample was polish but I got dip, so it's different. I've never had a dip come out a different color than the sample before. I'm pissed I have this crap on my nails for the next few weeks AND for Christma, it's embarrassing! read more

So, I live in downtown Baltimore and drive 20+ minutes to Owings Mills to come here. That should say enough about this place! But I'll go into detail. Looking at these reviews, it seems like most are isolated events and not enough to rate this place as a bad establishment. I enjoy my time here. The technicians I have gotten have always been very friendly. During my last visit, I brought my stepdaughter and her friend and my tech was laughing a joking with all of us. He gave my nails very close attention and was so meticulous. I got a basic manicure but walked out feeling like I got the VIP treatment. He didn't push me on gel, waxing and pedicures like most salons do. I know what I want when I go in, if I didn't ask for it then I don't care to receive those services, thanks! Anyway, I can't stop looking at my nails and I will drive another 20 minutes in about two weeks to get them done again. Oh and you can leave a tip on your receipt if you pay by credit card. I know a lot of salons prefer cash but this is a nice alternative if you don't have the dolla dolla bills for tipping. read more

I with my husband went there for the pedicure,we had deluxe pedicure with massage, a middle aged man his name was Danny he did my pedicure. For my husband a lady named Lily did his pedicure. First of all they both were very noisy, talking a lot, they should know that customers go there to get there services and feel relaxed, not to chat with them. Danny did the horrible job on my feet. He didn't clipped my nails and and not took out the cuticles. I was so tired that I didn't pay attention I thought he will do his job that's was my mistake. When he was putting the polish realized he didn't clean the cuticles and didn't clipped the nails I asked him that one of my nail is crooked and why he didn't fixed it then he took the file and fixed it.
