I asked the older man how much it would be after he informed me that they couldn't guarantee the programing would work. he replied it would run me around $55. the younger man did the work. he came back in and after maybe 10 min he told me my truck was ready. right before that I heard him ask the older gentleman did he give me a price? the older gentleman said no. I went to pay and he told me $103.50. so did he charge me 45.00 to cut a key? Either way I will not be back.

I recently needed some spare keys made for my new apartment (in case of an emergency) and Ace Locksmith was the first place I thought of. To give a specific example, getting my old safe removed and the new one installed were challenges, as I have a two-story house and the spot for the safe is on the 2nd floor. These things are *heavy* (the new one was 720 lb, empty). Someone had to be brought in with special equipment to do the moving safely, and Tweed's both knew about who could do it and brought them in. The move out and the move in both were accomplished safely and with no damage to anything. I cannot speak to value one way or another, as I've only bought one other safe of this type -- and that was two decades ago. Prices have skyrocketed in that area across the board; I really can't compare. In any case, highly recommended.

There weren't any hours posted, lights were off, store looked fine but they were closed during regular hours. This location is close to me, so I swung by a second time. Again, no signage and closed. The third time I headed that way I called and was told that location was closed but she was at the Elm Ave locaiton and I could go there in Portsmouth. I told her there is no signage and they might want to post something... dead silence... weird and rude but Ok, your business you handle it the way you want. I live in Suffolk and had business in Churchland. I stopped at Lady Locksmith on Western Branch Blvd. A very nice lady said they were not able to re-key this cylinder but Tweeds could and they are located on Elm. Ok. I went to Tweeds on Elm I dropped off two lock cylinders to be re-keyed. Each had a different C code I want to use for vehicle door locks and I had a third C code ignition key. The girl wrote down a very detailed note on my request ... two lock cylinders to be re-keyed. I told her to keep it simple, I don't want three different keys and would like 1 key. It would be wonderful to get everything keyed to the ignition key. But Keep it simple and would gladly settle for just re-keying the 2 cylinders to 1 key and an ignition key. I just didn't want 3 keys. I was told it would be done the next day. Which I thought was extremely fast. She wrote down my phone number on the note. I left them there for 2 weeks and did not get a call. When I went to get them the guy helping me could only find 1 cylinder. He searched and search through a counter full of pieces, parts, plastic baggies and pieces of paper glamour. It was a cluster. He looked and looked and looked, when two more customers came in he asked me if I could come back tomorrow. Having visited a locksmith 4 times now, traveling from Suffolk twice, and the fact that he couldn't locate my stuff. I insisted on waiting for him to find my pieces. I had checked the time when I got to the store and when I got back to my vehicle. It was 38 mins just to find my pieces and send me away with nothing accomplished. Not even a sorry for your trouble... So that's my experience. From the look of the rating this may not be the norm but this was truly my experience.
