I like the green, silver and bronze on the platform, and the statue right by the escalators to get in and out of the station made it feel very grand. Due to the river being close by, there is only one entrance, the big advantage of this is it's harder to get lost coming out of the station, if you or a friend heads out the wrong exit. The station may also be useful for those visiting Prague Castle, as it is only 500 meters away, although that route did involve a large number of steps so I wouldn't recommend it. PRO TIP: Remember the Prague Metro REQUIRES a ticket but lacks a ticket gate, remember to purchase and validate your ticket from the machines by the entrance or risk a large fine.

For me Malostranska is where its at. There is a nice restaurant, its dry, safe and clean and as European metro's go that is great. The tram stops directly outside it. If you time it right you can be in the airport in about 30-40 minutes from here for only 32 kn. The ticket booth is just before the barriers. You must purchase your ticket from the mahine on the wall and its in several languages. The booth is manned sometimes but you cannot purchase tickets from here, he will give you advise if you need

However as soon as we had entered train after purchasing our ticket train inspectors have followed us on the train and fined us for not activating our tickets. The inspectors could have warned us before we got on the train to validate our tickets However instead they waited for us to get on the train and fined us immediately. This is disgusting, as I tourist I will never travel prague again I feel that is a scum that government allows to happen to tourists intentionally to make money. I lived and travelled in the Europe all my life and never experienced such stupid rule. If I'm only in a country for 3 days and paid for 3 day travel ticket how can I be fined for such minor mistake. Clearly I'm not benefitting from the mistake either. Also what's the point in purchasing the ticket? You might as well just get on the train without a train ticket and pay the fine if you get caught, that way you will at least save money on the train ticket???

Founded in 1897, the company was initially in the business of generating and distributing electricity and then focused on mass transit after nationalization of the energy industries in 1946. The company graduated to being a joint-stock company wholly owned by the City of Prague in 1991. I rode the metro several times around the city and the trams got me to where I needed to be. Easy to ride and there are multiple different vendors of tickets. We got ours from the hotel and for CZK 32 (about $1.25) you ride for 90 minutes or spend three times as much and ride for 24 hours. You must activate your ticket at any station, which stamps a time on it as indicator of validity. A little crowded at times but the trains are clean and there seemed to be enough seating when needed. Announcements in the city core were in Czech and in English. [Review 12214 overall, 1998 of 2019.]

Each line has a separate set of platforms which are connected by a series of corridors. From here you can get to many parts of the city, including the Lesser Town, where our hotel was.

The platform area is pretty with silver and gold signage. This station does have a lift signposted at each entrance, but you are able to use steps, which I prefer as it seems to be a given that subway station lifts stink of urine. As with any Metro Station in Prague, remember to buy a ticket before you board using the ticket machines. They have an English language if you prefer. You must also validate this ticket before boarding. Unlike other subway systems, there aren't traditional ticket gates, so don't get caught out or you'll risk a large fine. It acts as an interchange station between Lines A and B, and I did find it straightforward to get both in and out of the station and between lines if needed using the steps and escalators. I'm not sure about the lift route, but with they were well-signposted. 3* - Pretty average station along the Prague Metro network, the location is useful.

The location of the station is good for tourists wishing to visit Charles Bridge, as it is just a short walk away from one of Prague's most crowded tourist attractions. The overall layout/look/feel of the stop is typical to most other stations on the network, no thrills, even down to the departure boards which I found a little confusing but it does the trick, as you're not going to have to spend long here waiting for a service. It is also an unstaffed station. It is easy to follow the layout of the station as long as you're able to head down the steps from street level to the platform due to a lack of a lift. PRO TIP: Remember the Prague Metro REQUIRES a ticket but lacks a ticket gate, remember to purchase and validate your ticket from the machines by the entrance or risk a large fine. There are ticket vending kiosks and ticket validation machines but it is not a staffed station. [Review 12248 overall, 2032 of 2019.]
