Metro Staroměstská is on Line A of the Prague Metro, the station opened in 1978 and is showing its age slightly, as it opened as part of the inaugural section of Line A, between Leninova and Náměstí Míru.
The location of the station is good for tourists wishing to visit Charles Bridge, as it is just a short walk away from one of Prague's most crowded tourist attractions.
The overall layout/look/feel of the stop is typical to most other stations on the network, no thrills, even down to the departure boards which I found a little confusing but it does the trick, as you're not going to have to spend long here waiting for a service. It is also an unstaffed station.
It is easy to follow the layout of the station as long as you're able to head down the steps from street level to the platform due to a lack of a lift.
PRO TIP: Remember the Prague Metro REQUIRES a ticket but lacks a ticket gate, remember to purchase and validate your ticket from the machines by the entrance or risk a large fine.
The platform area is pleasant with red moulds. 3* read more
