My disabled son showed up for his appointment today. The office was closed and the phone numbers out of service. Nothing to indicate what was going on. They went out of business without informing patients. I would like to know what they have done with medical records.

I have been a patient for 10 years, my last appointment in September, albeit at a location in SE DC, for which I was not notified of and had to pay for transportation. I previously was able to walk to the 14th street location, though I have limited mobility. Since then, there has no response and a disconnected phone number. Very bizarre. My dependence is minimal at this point, but becoming more serious. I am very concerned for those needing urgent care and refills. read more

After I became fed up and left the practice, they wiped my records from their electronic portal! I have not been with MedStar primary care in 8 or 9 years, but I can still access my MedStar records! read more

They never pick up the phone or return my calls. I have been trying to get my medication refilled for weeks and maybe even months. They routinely fail to respond to my pharmacy's request to authorize a refill. read more

Downgrading to two stars. After all the hubbub about being better, they've now been calling me because I haven't been by in a while and whether I want to schedule an appointment. I declined first time they called. Today they called again but I missed the call. When I called back, nobody picked up the phone, which was the reason I left the practice in the first place (impossible to get through to anyone). Nothing has changed. Do your health a favor and find another primary care provider office. (But if you must, and you do get through, ask for an appointment with Cherry.) read more

We've been badgering them for months to get access to medical records for a vital surgery and they've given us nothing. The worst medical records practice by the most negligent doctors. These people don't care about their patients, they're just cashing in on your health insurance. read more

Oooookay. I rarely write reviews but I need to save other people from dealing with what I did here. I chose MetroHealth as my provider since it's close to work and easy to get to. My first appointment was fine and I had no problems. Fast forward a few months when I'm trying to get a pre-op done for knee surgery. They rescheduled my appointment a couple times but all were within the window I needed, until they called me ONE WEEK before my surgery and cancelled my pre-op appointment, saying they couldn't fit me in before the surgery. It's absolutely ridiculous that they would do that with such short notice, with no explanation and no solution. Basically they screwed me over. Luckily I was able to get a pre-op done at an urgent care. But sheesh. Not going back. read more

I joined this practice as a patient at the end of August. My usual provider is Michelle Nelson NP, and I've had two telemedicine appointments with her, and one phone call. She was pleasant. During my last appointment, we discussed lab work related to one of my medications, and I set an appointment to have that done. I arrived for my appointment on September 18, 2020. The office seemed clean, and I only encountered one other patient during my time there (from a safe distance) so I think they're doing an acceptable job of keeping folks safe in light of COVID. Unfortunately, they could not find the orders for my lab work. I sat around for about 20 minutes before the phlebotomist asked me what I needed. He was very polite and apologetic, and went again to try to find out what was going on. I asked whether this was a new problem with COVID and remote appointments. He looked embarrassed, and sheepishly said no. I can't say enough about how lovely the phlebotomist was (first time I've ever gotten my blood drawn with ZERO bruise after), but the organization of this office is still a hot mess. All in all, I was there for about 30-40minutes for something that should've taken 10min, which I would've brushed off if that was my only gripe with the office. My test results were available on October 1, 2020 and the receptionist called to schedule a follow up appointment to discuss my results with the provider. I politely declined, informed her that Ms. Nelson and I already discussed this testing in our last appointment, and asked that the results be uploaded to my patient portal or sent securely by email. I have great insurance so thankfully co-pay wasn't an issue, but I don't have time for unnecessary appointments. I also notified this receptionist that Flunisolide (a nasal spray that I've been on for allergies for ~4 years) requires a prior authorization according to my pharmacist. My allergist had no problems doing this previously, but I thought it would be more efficient to have all of my meds written by my GP. I'd tried to pick it up, and couldn't get the medication because of the need for prior authorization. I told the receptionist this during our October 1 call, she said she would send my request to the provider. Since October 1, I've called the office twice, and submitted a third request for my results and prior authorization via the portal. I did the portal request first, on Friday 10/2 I think. My pharmacy had already faxed them about the prior authorization request. I called October 7, and today October 8 during their published hours of business. Both times, I reached a voicemail that said they were closed. I left a voicemail both times. I still have not received results, and my many visits to the pharmacist were exercises in futility (thankfully my pharmacy is quite close). Ragweed is my biggest allergy, and being without this medication during peak season has left me with difficulty breathing, sleep disruption, a chronic bloody nose, and dry skin from constantly sneezing/blowing my nose. I might give them another chance if they make this right quickly, but otherwise I'm on the hunt for a new GP. read more

I was on vacation and sprained my ankle. The people were polite and professional. I had a long wait as a walk-in, but other people had called in and saved a place so you would be better off doing that. The doctor was kind and once I was in the exam room things moved rather quickly. read more

When you can get into see the Nurse Practitioners and Doctors, they're excellent. Genuinely a pleasure to work with--but I've been a patient for several years, and in the last year something's changed. I'm currently waiting for more than three hours for a call back from a nurse about some lab results to make sure that they're correct, and keep getting shoved around to various support staff. If you leave a message for either a nurse, or anyone--they won't call you back. (Update now on hour 4 of waiting for a call back, and I was told that the office manager would follow up, still nothing.) The only exception to this is LaTasha. She is a delight, genuinely cares and is helpful, and deserves a much better job at a better location. Diamond P. below, mentions them calling her in the waiting room after she was checked in--the front desk staff did the same thing to me then interrupted my EXAM while I was getting blood pressure checked (came into the exam room twice, not nurses but front desk staff) to confirm my pharmacy information was the same. Like did you need that information at that exact second, not when I was in the waiting room for 10 minutes waiting for my appointment. read more

DON'T DO IT. The administrative staff are absolutely wretched--rude and unhelpful. While I've had good experiences with the doctors when I'm actually able to get in to see or talk to them (including Dr. Hebou, who left, as well as Dr. Shamkhani and Dr. Givens), it's a miserable experience to actually get an appointment and often impossible to get the appropriate follow-up. Impossible to get them to refill prescriptions. I've gone without needed medication when going out of town because it's so challenging to get them to do basic things. Recently, I scheduled an appointment, took off work, and came across town....only to have the woman at the desk rudely tell me there was any appointment. When they finally realized it was their mistake, no apologies. I had to come in three days in a row for the simple bloodwork and appointment that could have been done in one sitting. I've been trying for weeks to get ahold of the doctor to talk through my (alarming) lab results, but "she's only in on Thursdays" and "there's nothing we can do." I can make an appointment.....and the first one is in two months. Multiple friends have suggested switching to One Medical. I've resisted because I imagine it'll be like pulling teeth to get Metro Health to transfer my medical records, and I don't want to start all over, but I'm so fed up that I think it's time. read more

I echo everything that's been said about Dr Hebou, she has been patient, communicative, and draws a great balance between caring and firm when it comes to how my lifestyle choices are contributing to my health (or lack thereof). I especially appreciate how she lets me make some of my own decisions regarding my prescriptions and how to handle bumps in the road regarding my health. I always feel like her and I are a team taking on my health together. Folks in her office are just as kind - from the folks that do bloodwork to the front desk. I wanted a doctor of color because I've had so many white doctors treat me like I am an inconvenience to them and I'm so grateful to have found MetroHealth. My only additional notes are that Hebou does talk about weight loss a lot, which I know isn't for everyone so if that's a line for you maybe y'all won't be the best fit. I also find her to be medicine-inclined, I had another doctor recommend more natural approaches to dealing with the same health concerns I have now. I think medicine was the best route but if you like to avoid medicines all together you may want to find another option for your primary care. Again, overall, highly recommended though! read more

I had a doctors appointment with Dr. William Campbell today for a physical was a waist of time he did nothing seems not to be interested in what was going on with me came in and said let me look at the computer and then no coversation no bedside manners at all he proceeded to repeat the same thing the tech had said never ask me did I have any issues I had to tell him and I told him I had a fungus on the toe he looked at it and just said ok and sent me a prescription to the pharmacy and tap my knees, check my ears and told me to open mouth and listen to my heart and that was my PHYSICAL WAIST OF TIME do not want to see him again. read more

I'm really disappointed by the care I've received here. They never reached out to me to schedule a follow up or tell me my results after I had lab work. They never send me the meeting link on time when I have a telehealth appointment. They consistently have my information wrong, like my email or my phone number, even though I filled out my initial forms correctly. They forget to call in prescriptions I need to the pharmacy, and they never answer messages in the patient portal. Dr. Hebou is a great doctor but the clinic's disorganization and lack of care makes me not want to come back again. I think the staff is nice but it's just not worth it. Past primary care providers have done a better job of following up, coordinating care, and just being present for patients, but I just didn't see that here. They're great people so hopefully they can work out some of these issues. read more

This is such an amazing medical practice and I enjoy my visits each time! The staff is so helpful and polite and gives you clear directions throughout your appointment. I have been seen by both practitioners at this location and they are just stellar. They are genuinely interested in hearing your concerns regarding health and give great advice. They also return documents/submit prescriptions/give referrals very quickly. Thanks MetroHealth!!!! Dr. Hebou is literally a star and is by far one of the best primary care physicians I've visited in my adult life. I will also say that as a woman of color, I feel cautious about going to just *any* health care provider because I know that some have historically overlooked the pain and experiences of women-- especially of Black women. Dr. Hebou takes her time to listen, talks you through any concerns, and explains answers to any questions you have. She takes great notes and follows up on pretty much everything, I also think she either reviews patient notes before each appt. or has a great memory because she follows up on everything I've discussed with her in the past. She is also great with referrals. She is extremely professional, her office is clean, and the staff are amazing. You may have to wait a bit even when you're on time for your apt, but it's never deterred me from coming back because doctors like her are rare finds. The office is in an accessible location (take the 14th and I metro exit from McPherson) and I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

Dr. Hebou is absolutely amazing. I wish all doctors were like her! She always takes the time to listen, asks questions, is non-judgmental, and seems to genuinely care about her patients - which you'd think should be a requirement in medicine, but somehow it's a rarity these days... I've had two annual physicals with her and was not rushed for either. The receptionists, nurses and technicians are also super nice and professional. Highly recommended. read more

Yes I have experienced better service! How is it that I make a appointment for bloodwork and I am waiting 25 minutes. Waiting on a lab order that has been disgust prior to me coming should be in the system and I should not have to wait. Then the lab guy comes out to get another person before me even though he apologizes I had things to do. Finally got to the lab and this guy is still apologizes he explained that no orders was in the system. He kept apologizing and told him that it's not his fault. So he gave me juice crackers and this Yelp review card. Don't think I will return due to this ongoing problem. read more

The absolute most unacceptable practice I've ever seen in my life. When my insurance was first switched and I was assigned here, I wasn't happy but still went in very optimistic in April. The women at the front desk were so nice and helpful (Brittany and Latasha) and the medical staff was quick, knowledgeable etc. Fast forward, idk what happened been this place has went DOWNHILL! They're literally two lost souls sitting at the front desk. The woman who claims her system is always down called me AFTER checking me in as if I was sitting in the waiting room. Like how do you not remember the name you just checked in?! Beyond me. On THREE separate occasions I have had to call weeks after urine labs, blood work, etc to find out why they aren't posted on my portal. Why hasn't someone followed up?! Why am I told medication was sent to my pharmacy, get there, and Walgreens shows no record. They try to blame Lab Corp but really it's Metrohealth's lack of quality and lack of care! Oh and don't call to say what it is you're looking for or in need of RIGHTFULLY SO. They're diva spice girl male nurse throws a tantrum honey. I'll see them around soon though read more

Scheduled an appointment very easily. When I went in the front desk staff looked busy but were still exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The nurse took me back and was very nice. When the doctor came into see me I had an actual full conversation about my entire medical background AND I had the option of having a gynecological exam right there during the check up! When I asked for a referral to a dermatologist they made one, and when I called back later in the week for another one they got it to me ASAP. I refer this place to all of my friends who have the same network as I do - hands down the best health care I've ever received just from a 'check up'. I have seen Dr Hebou twice for physicals and find her very personable, knowledgable, professional and kind. In fact from the front desk staff to the nurse to the phlebotomist, everyone is friendly and kind. Today one of my prescriptions did not go through the the pharmacy--I called the office back, reached a front desk person who take care of it immediately. Great customer service!
