During the whole time I was checked on to make sure I was doing okay and everything was explained every step of the way so I not only knew what was going to be done but also what exactly to expect. Dr. David Ngo took his time to review everything with me and thoroughly explain what he saw and and the reason for his recommendations. He was able to answer any questions I had and never did I feel he was rushing to get to his next patient. Made me feel that he genuinely cares about his patients and my dental health. I will absolutely plan on coming back for years to come. By far the best dental experience I've ever had!

We moved to Scottsdale about six or seven years ago. My wife did a ton of research before picking a…read moredentist and she chose S&L with Dr. David Ngo. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

I also really appreciated that the entire staff was female. It made me feel much more comfortable, especially since I've had negative experiences with male dentists in the past. Very clean and friendly pupper !! The only downside is that it's definitely on the expensive side, but I understand it's a high-end practice in Scottsdale. They're also incredibly busy, I had to wait about eight months for my appointment, but I can see why they're so booked. In the end, it was worth the wait. My teeth are clean, healthy, and I had a great experience!

As you will see from my profile, I don't usually leave negative reviews. But After several years…read moreof trying to make it work, finally had to leave this extremely disappointing office. This is not the dentist for you if you are a basic patient that doesn't have serious dental issues or need cosmetic surgery or appliances. They don't take care of you or treat you if you aren't making money . The only bright spot is the front desk and the hygienists who are excellent despite the dentists being inattentive and uncaring. I switched to this dentist (Dr Bri) several years ago after moving here and having a multi year relationship with my prior dentist. While Dr Bri was fine at the beginning, everything became progressively worse over time. This office is a money making machine that only cares about selling you cosmetic dentistry and services you don't need. They did this to me and my kids, each of us getting separately estimates for 20k of cosmetic work every time you go in for a tooth cleaning. Another friend left the practice after having the same experience. I stayed on bc I felt it was fine to say no to cosmetic work but ultimately was relegated to worse and worse service. Several times, and maybe all of the last four visits, I had to ASK to see the actual dentist. They tried to send me on my way after the hygienist cleaning. I was asked if I had a particular issue and said- no I just think the dentist should look at your teeth during a dental exam. Terrible customer service. Worse, last time I was there, they had someone who I don't think had ever seen a tooth doing flossing and other basic work (it wasn't the hygienist). She kept skipping teeth and had no clue what she was doing. It was almost like a joke. Then when I asked to see the dentist, I found out she wasn't even there that day. Why even schedule me for an appointment? It was ridiculous and the final straw. Side note: They also refused to send X-rays to my oral surgeon bc I wouldn't sign up with their surgeon who wasn't covered by my insurance. My surgeon had to take new X-rays. What a racket. Again The only reason for not giving one star are the front desk and hygienists who are excellent. I consider the dentist a long term and personal relationship. I went to this office for years and had absolutely no relationship with Dr Bri. The customer service is poor unless you need major work done. Find another office if you are just an ordinary person with good teeth that need to be cleaned.

I met with six other dentists Prior to making my decision to proceed with Dr Gregg. My surgery is scheduled soon, and I'll share an update once everything is complete. Update: Surgery has been completed, and I'm now 4 days post-op. Overall, the procedure went well. The doctor ended up taking a different approach than originally planned, but we're still expecting the same outcome. That said, I'm really not happy with the temporary teeth. The color is noticeably off, and multiple people have already commented on it.

I was mailed an odd ledger showing my balance due with no details just an accounting list. I asked for more details and was read over the phone the charges which some dated back 2 years ago. I asked why I hadn't been notified or billed all this time and was told that they have over 2000 patients and they don't send bills. She said it was the patient's responsibility to check with them if they have a balance due. Over those two years our family visited their practice probably 5-6 separate times for cleanings and was never once told there was a past due balance. She also told me that some patients don't check because they are hoping the dentist makes a mistake and doesn't account for their visit to avoid paying. Didn't appreciate the insinuation. Upon reviewing my bills (btw this was a small amount of money) all of the charges ended up being their billing mistakes by either incorrectly coding the insurance claims or not honoring their cost proposals for work completed. Please don't put yourself through dealing with this very unprofessional staff.

I was initially impressed by Dr. Rao's genial chairside manner and accepted the somewhat seedy…read morelocation and thrift store decor as a sign of a "discount" pricing policy. The price was actually average but the dental work and followup were extremely problematic. The following is my email regarding the problems following my temporary crowns. I later discovered the website email address was not operational. Message to Dr. Rao, I left a message this morning (Saturday October 21) regarding my discomfort and problem with my temporary crowns. I assumed you would have an emergency number to reach you even though your office is closed. (It's very unusual for a medical/dental professional to have no after hours contact information). I had my temporary crowns done on October 11 and paid for them and the permanent crowns in advance as you requested. This has not been my usual payment experience. I returned on October 18 to have the temporary crowns smoothed as my tongue was irritated and had developed ulcers from the rough texture. Your assistant did most of the work. I started to explain to you how my bite was now off and my mouth felt out of alignment. You didn't appear to be concerned and no effort was made to rectify this situation. Observing my bite, it's apparent that the temporary crowns on the lower right side are higher, wider and unevenly matched to the bottom teeth on the left side. I have researched and discovered that temporary crowns should be adjusted so that the patient's bite is comfortable or if necessary, redone. I haven't been able to eat solid food for the past 10 days and my tongue is still irritated by the rough texture of the crowns. I'm very concerned that my permanent crowns will also be a poor fit. I need to have the temporary crowns adjusted to be the same height and similar width as the teeth on the other side of my mouth so that I am able to chew comfortably. I am unable to chew properly on the left side since I am missing a top tooth. My permanent crowns appointment isn't till November 8. I would appreciate having this dental problem corrected as soon as possible. Dr. Rao responded on Monday to the phone message I left on Saturday concerning my distress. He was apologetic and had me return again for another adjustment. He works on several patients at the same time and at one point needed to be reminded what we were working on. The permanent crowns were finally applied and the numbing needle was incredibly painful. My lips were horribly swollen for days as the extreme numbing lasted for hours and made me unaware that I was chewing on my lips, when eating. Finally the crowns were done and I was able to chew comfortably. The next problem was reimbursement from my Medicare insurance. Dr. Rao had said initially that as a courtesy he would fill out the paperwork. He sent a pre-approval but neglected to follow up with a completed and signed itemized bill. It's been almost 3 months and after hours of conversations with United Healthcare, I received a statement showing a $1000 reimbursement allowed. The paperwork included a signature required by the dentist and his filling out a form. I emailed the paperwork to his office and I spoke with his office representative Anna, who advised me not to pursue the payment because that would delay my getting reimbursement (?) She advised me to wait a few more weeks and said Dr. Rao was informed about this situation. I've had a lot of dental work done by different dentists over the years but this has been an unusually frustrating experience.
