The owner got back to me quickly after requesting a quote from Yelp with an honest quote and we were able to arrange a time for the same day in their Rancho shop to swap out the cracked screen. Sergei was letting me know his thoughts every step of the way. And recommendations on how to proceed with the issue. I would recommend this business to anyone who needs phone repairs. This place is a real hit and miss, it just depends on whether or not you get lucky. For basic…read morerepairs I would not recommend, but if you need something specific done they may be a good option. My experience was largely positive. I requested a repair on a game console a while back. It was a 15 minute job, but required some equipment that I do not have. Labor was vastly overpriced (15 minute job, $10 for parts, $90 for labor), but it is understandable. They have to have a price floor, and the repair I needed done was short and specific. Overall, it turned out fine. The device has not had issues since, and none of my data was destroyed. Regardless, I recommend always making a backup of your data before consulting any repair company. 10/10 for my specific instance, but look out. If you are on a tight budget or do not know how to back up your data, I would perhaps practice extra discernment in your search.

I took my phone in because my phone wasn't charging, either by cable or wirelessly. They took my…read more$50 diagnostic fee and asked for two hours to investigate - I gave them four. When I returned, they said it might be the battery ($83 repair and they'd have to order it and could have it back in 7-10 days), but said it might be something to do with the screen assembly (or something like that), and that would be $178 and they had that in stock. I said fine, just get it working, as I had a surgery scheduled and needed a way to communicate with my support team. I gave them more time, and their assessment was that it wasn't that either - they said my phone showed no signs of life and I'd need to buy a new phone. But they didn't charge me the $178 after testing it to see if it would work. So, I went to Best Buy and chatted with GeekSquad for a second opinion - they told me UbreakIfix was now a mainstream repair shop, doing mainly warranty work for the major carriers, and anything beyond simple repairs wasn't their thing...and that I'd probably be able to get it fixed at a "mom&pop" shop. GeekSquad said they couldn't work on a phone as old as mine (5 years), and recommended a shop in Folsom that their customers had success with. I bought a new phone for $750 since I was already there, and was willing to risk forfeiting a $45 re-stocking fee to return it if I managed to get my phone working. I didn't go to the shop recommended by GeekSquad, but found Salmaan Phone Repair in Rocklin and he had my phone working in less than 10 minutes (I'll write a review for him, too). The issue was a bad FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) cable - the cable that connects the charging port to the daughterboard. 2 stars for not being able to diagnose a basic power issue -1 star for telling me my phone would never work again +1 star for positive experience with the uBiF person that followed up with me when I complained about their non-refundable diagnostic fee when the diagnosis was 100% incorrect.

FALSE ADVERTISING AND BROKE MY PC CASE!…read more Website specifically says "FREE DIAGNOSTICS" and "no fix no fee". Yet AFTER I dropped my PC off the owner tried to claim I owed $60 after he gave me a receipt that said total $0. No shame. He even told me over yelp "bring it in for free diagnostics". Not only that, he broke my PC case because he couldn't figure out he had to press a latch to open it and probably just ripped it out and tried to hide it with screws and didn't tell me. And now it doesn't stay closed anymore. And also he took out my GPU and didn't bother screwing it back in place when he was done, just left it dangling in there. Stay away from these clowns.

DO NOT COME HERE I…read morehad my iPhone screen replaced here just two days ago, and today the screen completely stopped working. When I called to explain the issue, I expected them to stand behind their work and repair it free of charge. Instead, I was met with some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. After I sent them a photo of the screen, they immediately blamed me, told me it was my fault, and even said they were "not a magician" and refused to fix it under warranty. There was no attempt to troubleshoot the issue or stand behind their own work. I ended up taking my phone to another repair shop for a second opinion. They told me the screen had been installed incorrectly, which explained the problems I was having. They also told me the replacement screen appeared to be an extremely low-quality part and commented that many reputable repair shops won't even use parts like that because they're known to cause problems. Between the poor workmanship, the apparent low-quality parts, and the unbelievably rude customer service, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. Instead of taking responsibility for what appears to have been an improper installation, they blamed the customer and refused to make it right. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and go somewhere that actually stands behind its work. I wish I had.
