My doctor asked me, "do you want someone pretty to hold your hand or do you want someone who is good with a knife?". That really stuck with me. Complaints I've read about this place have had to do with demeanour and not with their performance. I was also worried because they were ready to get the job done immediately. Barb who answers the phone wasn't rude. She was clear, direct and down to business which I appreciated. Barney seems to be a no bullshit kind of guy (which I LOVE!). He made time to quickly come out and give me the quote I needed at a time when other companies seemed too booked to even take my calls! I think that the reason they were able to jump to serve so quickly is because they staff appropriately for the season. Maybe other companies haven't clued in to the idea that... well, come summer... people want AC units installed and sometime soon would be nice! I had reservations and a ton of questions since I had a recently acquired google doctorate in heating and ac units! Barney was wonderfully patient and explained things to me in a way that wasn't demeaning or belittling. BAM!!! One day. ONE DAY!!! The ac is installed. The 4 person crew that was sent out felt like family. They were sweet and laughed at my jokes. They cleaned up after themselves and were wonderfully careful not to let my terrible cats outside of the house. I feel that the price charged was a good value for the service and system that we had installed. I would recommend them to friends and family and I would use them again in a heart beat! Thanks folks!!! UPDATE... I had to call Barney a month after install because the AC wasn't working. I was freaked out because it is super duper hot out and figured I'd have to wait weeks as they must be swamped. They had someone out to check the system in a couple of hours. Turns out it was because the filters were clogged (totally my fault and so embarrassing!). The tech (Dimitry?) was super kind, cleaned the filters for me, took the time to explain how to do it myself and didn't ask for anything for the service call! THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! You guys rock! THANK YOU!!!

It looks amazing and the guys that put it in were great. My one criticism was that they do not appear to work for Kirkland when they arrive. Barring that, they did a good job and cleaned up well. The front end of this business is overwhelmed, and the ball was dropped many times in the process. Bottom line is I got a great fireplace at a great price, but I sure had to be patient

Called Pioneer Plumbers to come and fix my faucet and unclog the drain in my apartment. They were…read morevery professional and came on time. My kitchen faucet hot water had very low to no pressure. I had the plumber come over to clear the build up in the pipes. He also unclogged the bathroom sink for me. As well, I had him look at my garburator. My garburator had a small crack on the side and it worried me a bit. The plumber said it is just the outside but the inside is still working fine. So there is no need to replace it yet. The plumber was very professional and he did not charge extra to having to come downtown.

Theo was the technician the first visit, and Sia did the recent call, both provided top shelf service. I found them to be on time, accurate, very fair price wise and ultimately highly trustworthy, along with being good people. They won't sell you something you don't need, but also won't just band aid a solution. They will recommend what is necessary to do now with an eye down the road as to what will be your best choice long term. In our case, they could have replaced the blower and other parts on the old furnace for about half the price of a new one (which comes with a 10 year warranty), so the decision was easy to replace the entire unit. Expensive now but don't have to worry about again. Cannot recommend these gentleman and this company enough!

Our water heater died on the 23rd of December and they were able to fit us in on Christmas eve. They did a good clean installation, the owner got the major pieces (1/4 turn ball taps) done first, replaced & properly sealed the Y tube that connects the exhaust with the furnace exhaust, the guy who sweated the majority of the copper adjusted the purge valve tube to give us reasonable access to the furnace it runs around (old townhouse with very poorly planned everything), and he also returned within minutes when I noticed a pinhole leak in a pipe. No problems since. Planning to get these guys back to replace the furnace when I return to Vancouver in a year or so. HIghly recommended, not because they fit us in on Christmas eve, but because they did the job right and took good care of us. A year and a bit later everything they did is holding up very well.

AB Tech was recommended by a friend of ours so I called Bruce and explained the situation. Good news/bad news: it was a Friday and he was in the middle of a big job and couldn't come until Monday. Then an hour later, he called to say he was breaking away from the big job to come look. He noted that the boiler wasn't serviced in a while and the pilot needed replacing. He spent a couple hours on this when I know he had to get back to the big job, but he was committed. He just came back today to finish the service. I'm grateful to Bruce and his crew for taking the time to help us. It would have been a cold weekend.
