I have been remiss in not posting a Yelp on Metro Auto Body after all these years although Yelp did not exist back then. I have been a very satisfied customer of Metro since 1990 when I lived in Whitestone. I had an accident in the vicinity of their shop and all I remember was Mark (Metro tow truck driver) telling me in the ambulance not to worry, that my personal property and vehicle will be secured and slipping me a business card informing me the whereabouts of my vehicle. At first and from past experience after having a car accident as a teenager in Buffalo years before, I had no trust in collision shops. I was proven wrong. When I eventually made it to the shop, I met Jack (God rest his soul) and Joe (who is still there today and looking younger than ever). They were both super professional and made the process easy. When the job was complete, I didn't believe my eyes - not only did the car look brand new, but it was cleaned inside and out, and the tires were ArmorAll'd. I met Jack and Joe again when I had another accident in 1996. I will never forget stopping by the repair shop to pay my bill. When I came out of their office, I noticed that a parking ticket had been issued on my vehicle when I parked in the street. When Joe saw what I was irate about, he took the ticket and told me that they will take care of it. I never heard from that ticket again! Metro staff are truly nice people. A period went by when I went accident free until I got rear ended in 2018 and twice my unoccupied vehicle was hit while parked in the street (2023 and this year, 2025). At this time, I have been living in Malverne, Long Island since 2000. My son asked me why I would bring my vehicle so far to repair since we had numerous collision shops in our general vicinity. I explained to him that I trust Metro because they are good, honest, hardworking people. For example - In 2018 when I was rear ended, my bicycle rack was pushed into the rear of my vehicle. It was questionable if my insurance company was going to pay for a new bike rack. When I picked-up my car, it was all shiny and new as Metro always does, but I didn't see a bike rack on it. I just assumed that the insurance didn't cover it. When Joe gave me my paperwork as I was leaving, I noticed a white envelope in the paperwork. When I opened it, I saw a stack of money ($240 in twenties). I asked him "What's this?". Joe explained that they were unable to find the exact same bike rack and that this was the money for me to buy a new one. If they didn't give me the money, I would have just assumed that the bike rack was not covered under my insurance and would had taken it as a loss. They are a more than honest business. When I picked up my vehicle that time, I dropped-off my wife's car for them to put pink pinstripes and pink flower decals all-over the hood. Another superb job which is why my wife loves those guys! In 2023 and more recently, in 2025 when I picked-up my repaired vehicles, I honestly didn't really look to see if they did a good job because I already know that they always do, and that the vehicles always come back detailed, cleaner and shinier than when they go in. All the staff I have met and dealt with at Metro throughout the decades have always been courteous, professional, and honest in every way. I was referred to this company by my outstanding mechanic of many years. I had 2 accidents which rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive. Metro came and got the vehicle from my driveway and kept me update on the communication with my insurance, worked with me on pricing, explained estimated cost thoroughly. They gave updates on the finish date. They are a certified Lexus repair shop and assured us the car would be as new when done. They completed the repair in a reasonable amount of time. These guys are awesome and super great to work with! My 5-year old opened the minivan door when we were close to a wall and scratched it up. For context: A tree fell on my parked car. My insurance insurance ultimately declared the vehicle to be a total loss. For this reason I can't speak to the quality of Metro's body work output, but I can speak to their capacity as consumer advocates & partners in the insurance claim process. Initially, the insurance adjuster estimated damages to be substantive, but repairable & within range. When he asked if I had a body shop lined up. Initially, my plan was to take to the dealership, but the adjuster advised against this; most will subcontract to another body shop + ship your vehicle offsite for repairs, adding time & costing extra. Metro's proximity & high customer ratings prompted me to give them a call. They towed the car just a few hours later. In the next couple of weeks, Metro earned these 5 stars & my future business for the following two reasons: 1. Very communicative. Metro will take your call & kindly provide you with any updates it has. I also received access to a simple web portal unique to my case (works well on mobile) where you can keep tabs on updates. 2. Effective consumer advocates. Metro priced cost & availability of parts + labor, and ultimately came to the conclusion that the cost to repair was beyond the value of the vehicle. They successfully made this case to the insurance provider, scheduled a return visit by their adjuster, and ultimately cleared this with claims. This required 0 involvement on my part. Given used vehicle prices, the payout on the vehicle ended up being many thousands more than what I had originally paid. Metro allowed me to casually come by, pick up my belongings from the vehicle, say my goodbyes (car deserved better & I am still sad about it), and allowed Metro to sell what it could at auction / dispose of what was left. This is an honest business run by good people who excel at their work. I hope to never find myself in a similar situation, but am comforted by the fact that, if I ever do, Metro has my back. read more

Before I even got my car back I knew it would be a great relationship. I took my car in on a Saturday morning and spoke to Mike who helped me by explaining everything that I needed to know. He also helped me fill out the paperwork. He and his Dad actually waited a little longer for me to arrive, since I was coming in from L.I. About 10 working days later I received a call from Reed telling me that the car was ready. On Saturday morning I called spoke to Joe and returned to the shop to pick up my truck. After everything was done I was taken to the car by Alvin and let me say that body shops get a bad rep, but Metro will ALWAYS get my business. My car was picked up early the next morning - I stopped by the shop and met Joe and Reid, they were extremely helpful and assured me that they would take good care of my car. I got my car back within two weeks in mint condition! Not only did they fix the damage, but they went above and beyond and detailed the interior of my car. I strongly recommend and staying away from this Shop! There are dishonest they commit insurance fraud. We took our 2020 Tahoe to get repaired at Metro Auto Body in corona queens New York. It took him two weeks to repair a vehicle we drive back home to Colorado our bumper pops out from its clip we call them up to explain to them the situation they reply they going to send me parts as clips and rivets to get this repaired. And according to them it might've been a defective item granted! But my insecurity got the best of me took the vehicle to body shop come to find out this dishonest insurance fraud of Metro Auto Body used my same parts meaning my fender was never replaced it was fixed I myself used the tip of a knife to prick at work just to find yellow body filler. I called them up to explain to them that they fixed my part not replaced it and they're reply was the part might have arrived damaged granted! explain to me how is it possible that the parts they ordered arrived damaged and it's the same area with my Collision! All I can say is WOW! To say I'm impressed is an understatement. Getting into an accident is super stressful, but these guys somehow managed to make the experience pleasant. My car was returned to me in better shape than it was pre-accident. They went above and beyond and fixed dings that were definitely not related to the accident at no additional cost, they worked with me to minimize my out-of-pocket costs as I was in two separate accidents in a short period of time, they suggested seeing them before contacting my insurance company/sharing pictures for a more accurate estimate - which was 100% the best route, my car came in FILTHY and full of my belongings - they detailed the inside and out which was honestly shocking to me (they did such a good job on the inside!), filled my windshield wiper fluid, etc.! They are AMAZING and I've never felt more taken care of; they treat everyone as a VIP customer which is so nice especially in the world of auto repairs where you can leave feeling taken advantage of. They say they're family owned and I would say, the way they interact on a personal level is that of a family-run business, but the level of attention to detail, efficiency, and professionalism is top notch - they run as a well-oiled machine. I cannot say enough good things about them. They're a high-volume shop and also had to backorder some parts, so I had to wait about a month to take the car in, but it was well worth the wait - so if you're thinking about going elsewhere due to a wait, don't. Got hit by a yellow cab (go figure) with my 2011 Camaro in Manhattan and had to get it towed. A guy named Rocky that worked for this shop waited while I had my police report written up and came up to me once it was complete. We chatted for a while and I decided to put my good faith in him. My car was flat-bedded away on a new truck rather then dragged on a tow. When I got my car back, EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was fixed. The exterior as well as the interior was shampooed and waxed. I was completely shocked when the car looked like it came fresh off the lot. These guys are there for your interests as well as your vehicle. They told me the shop has been around for like 3 generations in their family.
