First of all, this review is long overdue. I first went to go see Mark at Metro Acupuncture back in February. I'm a culinary professional by trade and due to the repetitive motion in my last job (I was a baker, so lots of rolling out dough) I developed carpal tunnel in both of my hands. I first went the typical root and saw an orthopedist. He told me I would most likely need surgery - which is permanent and not a cure of the problem, just symptoms - but first we'd have to try injections. I had painful injections in both wrists and they just caused my body to get sicker. I was sick for a month after my first injection, when it was time to do the other hand, I thought I would die. I went to see a total of three different doctors and chiropractors before I decided to try acupuncture. I first went to another acupuncture clinic, but found it to be an uncomfortable environment. She used the electrical boxes which was very painful. I wasn't thrilled with the process I judged it to be a painful procedure that wouldn't help me at all. I decided to give it another try and I am SO GLAD I did. I went to Metro Acupuncture and was immediately put at ease. When making my appointment, they made sure to ask me what my ailment was before scheduling the appointment so I would see the exact right person to help me. Mark Lewinter is fantastic, he is extremely knowledgeable and personable. He immediately changed my mind about acupuncture. He even changed my mind about the electrical boxes and they have not hurt a single time he has used them. After several treatments I'm happy to say that my hands are almost completely back to normal. That is thanks to Mark and Metro Acupuncture. The rooms are nice with relaxing music. They offer herbs and other Chinese medicine techniques that I'm not personally familiar with. I highly, highly recommend going there if you are interested at all in acupuncture - or if you've tried the traditional medicine route with little improvement. I've had the treatment for my hands as well as headache, migraine and allergy treatments which have all worked wonders for my quality of life. On a personal note, Mark has also been a tremendous help to me. I've had some personal problems on the side, and Mark has been a wonderful listener, which I say is going "beyond the call of duty" and it really helps add to the relaxing experience. Dr. Anna Kelly was referred to me by my trusted MD who researched the referral when a group of specialists agreed that acupuncture could be helpful. To say Dr. Kelly is brilliant is an understatement. Her universal knowledge of the subject of acupuncture is vast, her concern for her patients is extraordinary and the lengths she goes to understand how each patient is suffering in their own way is remarkable. Metro Acupuncture is the best place to go when Western Medicine cannot help you. I have been going to Metro Acupuncture for years. Anna Kelly has opened my eyes to a new world. A world without Western Medicine. If you can't find a solution for your health problems I suggest you try acupuncture. It has been around for a long time and is proven to cure many things without medicine. I go once a week to Metro Acupuncture. I cannot imagine my life without it. The staff there is awesome. For many years I was on multiple drugs prescribed by Western Doctors who just wanted to put a band aid on my pain. Anna Kelly helped me to break the cycle of drugs. She is a compassionate person. Each patient gets her full attention, there are no time limits as each and every patient requires a different approach. Western Doctors are always watching the time. My last Doctors appointment lasted 5 minutes. My last appointment with Anna Kelly lasted 45 minutes. The Western Doctor wrote me 12 prescriptions which I did not fill. Anna Kelly wrote me none. I have been a patient of Dr. Kelly for about a year. I selected Metro Acupuncture because I was looking for an organization that included Medical Doctors that were trained and certified in Eastern Medicine and in the practice of Acupuncture. Dr. Kelly fit these requirements exactly! She has been successful in getting me off a number of prescriptions that were completely unnecessary. As a result I feel better now and am benefiting from her Holistic approach to treatment. Her overall knowledge of medicine and how to keep yourself healthy is very impressive. In fact, she is the most knowledgeable medical professional I have even known . I have not found a medical issue with which she is not familiar. She is straightforward and honest in her assessment and doesn't suggest undergoing numerous tests and taking medicines ..... most of which are useless and unnecessary. Dr. Anna Kelly relieved my son's pain from sport injuries so effectively with a combination of acupuncture and moxibustion. Conventional medicine and weeks of physical therapy had previously brought him no relief but after 1 or 2 sessions with Dr. Kelly, he could resume his game again! Dr. Kelly is simply incredible. She takes the time to talk to her patients, then together with pulse & tongue analyzations, she gets to work her 'healing magic" with her acupuncture needles. She uses an intuitive holistic approach when treating her patients and the positive results are a true phenomena - relief with no medication and therefore no side effects! She also helped him with chronic insomnia, by combining acupuncture and relaxation techniques. Metro Acupuncture was recommended to me by a friend who has received treatment there for chronic pain. I am an extremely competitive track and field runner and I severely sprained my foot. It was critical that I be up and running as soon as possible. I have always been skeptical of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, but in was encouraged to give it a try on the basis that Metro Acupuncture employs M.Ds as well as licensed acuouncturists. Dr. Kelly is absolutely wonderful! She is very attentive and genuinely concerned with helping her patients. I have seen drastic improvements in my health since beginning my treatment with Dr. Kelly. I tore several ligaments and a tendon in my ankle. Although I was healing, I was also scheduled to take a big trip and I was concerned I would not be fit enough to enjoy the touring.
