After years of yo yo dieting, I had given up on myself and weight ballooned up to close to 350 pounds. When I called Sheryl, my eating was completely out of control. I needed someone to help me to gain control of my eating habits and my weight. Sheryl's approach was much different than the other plans I had tried before. During our first session she spent two hours asking me what I ate daily and designed a plan around the foods I liked to eat. Yes, you still need to eat nutritional foods to lose weight, but thankfully you aren't restricted to carrots and lettuce. :). There are no prepacked foods, or shots necessary to start to lose weight on Sheryl's plan. After a short time on the plan, I stopped craving the foods that sends my eating out of control. I also found it easy to get back on the plan on few occasions when I strayed. So far with Sheryl's help I have lost 60lbs, and I am confident with what I have learned, I can remain in control during my weight loss journey. It is also great to know that Sheryl is there to give you accountability, and help guide you when you hit a plateau. Sheryl really cares out her client. As my weight has come down, Sheryl has become a friend and has given me advice on how to better handle other parts of my life. My only regret about working with Sheryl, was that I did not meet her years ago.

My food allergies had gotten out of control and anything red or orange that I ate (tomatoes, strawberries, bell peppers, watermelon) would make my lips swell up bigger than botox gone bad. A blood test confirmed the allergies Dr. Robbins found through muscle testing. She treated all of my food allergies through acupressure NAET treatments. It was life changing for me. Not only could I eat anything I wanted without an outward physical reaction, I found that previous digestive issues also disappeared. Fast forward several years to when my daughter had a terrible reaction to pineapple at school and was in full body hives for two weeks, Dr. Robbins was able to eliminate the hives through her therapy treatments (no shots!) and also eliminated my daughter's allergies to pineapple, peanut butter, corn, dairy, and many other foods. Dr. Robbins is incredibly gifted in being able to quickly and effectively treat and eliminate allergies like no other doctor I have encountered. Her office feels like a safe haven filled with peace and good energy. I always felt like she was truly listening and interested in what I was telling her that made for a better understanding of my issues and a higher success rate in the overall outcome. She literally changed my life, and my daughter's, for the better.

Although Naturally Balanced isn't covered under my insurance plan, the trip was worth it, as Dr. Robbins helped me to get to the bottom on my vertigo issues. She also did a blood test and hair analysis, which told me about all sorts of things that are wrong with me that I didn't know about. (My body chemistry is dangerously low in sodium and potassium and I'm allergic to eggs, for example.) She can also help you reduce your allergies using acupuncture techniques and offers chiropractic services, as well. She's an all-around nice person, very thorough with her explanations, and very easy to talk to. If you have an oddly mysterious medical issue that your regular doctor can't seem to fix, I would recommend paying a visit to Dr. Robbins to see if she can help you become a healthier, happier person.

After struggling with bulimia for seven years, I had reached my breaking point and didn't know how…read moreto get help. After years of trying to stop the disorder on my own, I lost hope that I would ever change and decided to accept the fact that I'd never get better. Finally my mom stumbled upon Betsy Thurston's website one day and my life changed for the better from then on. Betsy is a compassionate, knowledgeable, and caring individual who worked one-on-one with me for several months to change a lifelong battle with dysfunctional eating. She worked with me to find the source of my issues and gave me small, attainable goals on a weekly basis. She understood when I "slipped up" and didn't fully achieve my goals and encouraged me to pick up right where I left off. I never felt ashamed or embarrassed to be honest with her about everything. After just four months of weekly sessions, I had completely stopped bingeing and purging, and I had a brand new, healthy outlook on food. She helped me tackle and confront the source of my disorder. It has been 2 1/2 years and I am still *successfully* managing my disorder using the lifelong tools that Betsy gave me during our sessions. The best choice I ever made was to pick up the phone and schedule my consultation with Betsy! She is the best! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I first found Betsy through her Podcasts and even though I have never struggled with a serious…read moreeating disorder, I have always had ups and downs with my weight and dieted on and off. I contacted her and we had several meetings via Skype. She has a very unique approach to helping people with nutrition and body image. It was so refreshing to have a non-judgmental, objective person to guide me through to my goal. She helped me identify behaviors that lead me to overeating and we discussed ways I could change them. She noted that I'm a "tandem eater" who can eat mindlessly around others when they're eating, even if I'm not hungry, and now I try to remember that when I'm out with friends or with coworkers at lunch. She also provided me with numerous other tools, reading materials, and book recommendations that were quite helpful. I think that anyone who has ever tried to diet before probably has some aspect of "emotional eating" (which sometimes is due to GOOD emotions!) and Betsy is a very unique-and effective-clinician for this. I would recommend her to anyone who has ever wanted to lose weight but just can't do it on their own, especially after a few tries.

She educated me on foods to consider and really made me become more mindful about what I put in my body and when in order to obtain the lifestyle change I really wanted. She worked with my appointments to accommodate both myself and toddler since I'm a work from home Mom & that really means a lot to me. Here it is 1 & 1/2 month later and I'm happy to say I'm no longer binge eating. I have a better relationship with food without becoming a slave to a diet sort of lifestyle. I have more confidence in the choices I make and when it's best for me to eat. I still enjoy foods I did before just in moderation. Our child saw Page for the beginnings of an eating disorder. Page did not help our child at all…read more Page says she specializes in eating disorders but she did not use evidence-based treatment for our child. Our child ended up having to go to a much higher level of care and our lives have been severely negatively impacted because of Page's lack of knowledge about how to treat eating disorders and how to empower families to be courageous and brave in the face of anorexia. We are slowly coming out from deep despair about our child's future with the help of properly trained dietitians and therapists (trained in FBT). Our child lost out on so much as they had to drop out of school and stop seeing friends while in hospital. Page's notes from sessions to us were written like chicken scratch all over the page and very hard to read. Booking sessions with her was difficult as she has no way to book online, you have to go back and forth via email with her assistant. Page was late for several appointments. Page never included us (our child's parents) in sessions so we had NO IDEA what to do. Our child kept getting worse and worse and we finally had to admit them to the hospital. Page never gave us information on WHAT TO DO for our child other than "serve an extra portion of carbs at dinner." This was outdated, scant advice and Page missed many opportunities to truly help us. We are sad we were referred to her by others and we hope NO ONE goes to see her for eating disorders as she has no idea what she's doing. Page just gives you a bunch of outdated copies of nutrition advice on paper and charges you for a session -- with no real advice on HOW TO HELP your child as a parent. If your child is struggling with anorexia -- you need to get the book "Anorexia and Other Eating Disorders" by Eva Musby. This should be REQUIRED reading for any parent of a child with anorexia. Start reading this book immediately, while you start getting a team together for your child. Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, after drug addiction. You must act immediately. We assumed we were set with Page and our child's therapist -- that they would help our child. But they did not at all because they didn't know about FBT; our child just kept getting worse and worse. Little did we know, we as parents must take the LEAD in helping our child. You know your child --- you must act fast to stop anorexia from becoming too engrained into their mind; otherwise it's a very hard journey back on to the road to recovery. Save yourself the heartache of having to hospitalize your child. Look for a dietitian and therapist who specializes in FBT or Family Based Treatment, the ONLY evidence-based treatment for anorexia. Page DOES NOT do this and she's been a dietitian for a long time. I hope this helps save someone from the heartache we've been through.
