I have been going to Dr. Chris since I first moved to Atlanta! I am a huge fan of this newer location. It's so easy to get to. The office is beautiful and new. The team is amazing. I schedule regular maintenance appointments every few weeks, but every time I've needed to get in immediately (due to a fall or sleeping wrong, etc...), Dr. Chris and his team have ALWAYS welcomed me with open arms. From the staff at the front desk (shoutout to Sydney and Kim), to my absolute favorite warmup/rehab exercise dude (JOSH!!!), Atlanta Spine and Wellness is like the Cheers of chiropractic. Not only are they friendly, but they address all of my concerns with a clinical (and somehow personal) approach. Dr. Chris has helped my spine SO much. When I have questions, he breaks it down to explain as detailed or high level as I want. He has given me exercises to improve my posture, and countless product recommendations to improve my quality of life outside the office. They periodically host small holiday parties and giveaways (things like massages!!) with raffle tickets every time you come in for a visit. As for insurance, I'm not sure what other plans the office takes, but I use BCBS and my services are relatively affordable. Bonus points for Dr. Chris: he is also a metro Detroit native! Dr Case Merritt did a fantastic job, my lower back was giving me a lot of pain. He is wonderful with his job and then added to that Justin the PT put a tens unit on my lower back and it was amazing. I came to Atlanta Spine and Wellness following a car accident. I was traveling on the highway and got rear ended. After my accident I noticed lower back pain and discomfort in my right arm, due to the impact. Since I was new to the area I just reached out to The Joint and tried to make an appointment. The gentleman on the phone stated that they didn't not serve car accidents and they suggested ASW. I gave the location a call and Dr. Alex gave me a call back in less than a hour. After speaking with Dr. Alex he told me that his secretary would call me back to schedule an appointment. I was surprised that I was able to get an appointment so quickly but in less than 4 days I had an appointment scheduled. When I first arrived I signed in and was greeted by amazing staff members. The secretary told me that I could indulge in coffee or tea before I was called back. A couple moments later Dr. Quinn called me back to start consultation. She gave me an outline pertaining my appointment outline. She was knowledgeable and patient through my initial appointment. Since then my appointments have gone pretty smooth and they do a great job helping your entire body! Overall I would give this business an A. Atlanta Spine and Wellness provides great technology, knowledge, and tools to assist there patients. Everything from the secretaries, the doctors, and the environment is amazing. If you are on Medicare don't bother with this practice. I paid $90 for crays which was fine. I was told that Medicare covered the cost of chiropractic treatment but not the physical therapy which would be $40 a session. Since I have been going to a physical therapist and was familiar with the exercises I opted out of the pt. The doc said that was fine I had two "treatments" at this clinic. The first was a total of five minutes where he measured my leg length. Dropped the table a couple of times, used the pressure device, put pressure on my spine in three places and said wonderful. And I was finished. I was a bit alarmed at how little he did to address my problem but I went back a second time. He said I'd need 12 treatments. The second visit was three minutes at the most .., he did the very same thing. I have never had such poor chiropractic treatment. There was absolutely no manipulation that is a customary part of chiropractic care. Since I chose not to do the pt he must have considered manipulation as physical therapy. My previous really good chitpractor left the state and I hadn't been to one for quite some time. I chose this practice because it had good reviews. Apparently he treats Medicare patients differently. The reimbursement is most likely lower than other insurance reimbursements. However that should not be a reason to provide sub care. I came to Atlanta Spine and Wellness after injuring my finger the gym. Dr. Chris Heitman X-rayed my finger and confirmed that I broke it. I was not able to receive therapy at this office due to the extent of my injury (this required a hand specialist), but I did receive professional advice. After leaving the office, I just had to leave a review due to the great experience I had. Great experiences at doctor's offices are not common for me, unfortunately. Dr. Chris is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met. He is smart and treats his patients with respect. His office is clean and his staff are kind. This practice has it all! Good location, Great Staff, and super nice office! Everyone is very polite and professional. I visited a few times however I don't feel it's a personable interaction nor the history visits being assessed to prepare for the upcoming visit. During my third visit I was asked by a Doctor if I've been their patient for a year. I said no it's my third visit. However she communicated with me as if it was our first time and I've interacted with her going on my 3rd time. I was very confused and taken aback. I will say the location and parking is cool. The ambiance is fine. The front desk receptionist and the other employee who assist with patients with the rehab area were very nice and pleasant. They called me by name and that was the reason I came back 2 more times. The last visit wasn't pleasant as it shouldn't be just those two to provide that intentional, positive interaction. It should be definitely the female doctor. I also suggest preparing for the following day reading and accessing patients, knowing their patients/clientele to increase the intentionality. I was beginning to feel like a financial asset compared to an actual client. So now I'm looking for another location which will dramatically impact me as this one was a perfect location for me and was accessible to my schedule. If you go, good luck. I do know those two (front desk receptionist and the gentleman managing the rehab area will be a delight). I give it a three for location, the space, and those two employees. read more

I cannot recommend Atlanta Spine and Wellness enough! I have been a patient for a year now and their practice has really helped my neck and back pain. I've been in two severe car accidents in less than two years that have resulted in painful soft tissue injuries to my lower back. I went to "the other guys" when seeking treatment for accident #1 and never received anything close to the treatment I needed to properly recover. Accident #2 took place early this year and one of the first calls I made was to Dr. Chris and his wonderful staff. Given that I work in the insurance field I was prepared for the initial consult with MRI's, records, and radiology reports which, if you have access to will enhance the initial consultation. Dr. Heitman was tremendously knowledgeable, caring, and concise in both explanation of symptoms and most importantly, his CONSERVATIVE treatment agenda to get me feeling better. Dr. Chris made absolutely sure I understood the plan, and that all questions/concerns I and my gf had at the time were answered in a way we non experts could comprehend. It's a scary thought being unable to SEE but rather describe what's going on inside your spine...and sometimes difficult emotionally to discuss details of a traumatic event. I can tell you with 100% certainty I would NOT be on the mend and hopeful for the future without Dr. Heitman and his staff in my corner. Not only is he charismatic, energetic, kind and happy to discuss Michigan sports anytime but if your case extends beyond his area of expertise, he has a network of TRUSTWORTHY, INTELLIGENT and most importantly NON-JUDGMENTAL partners (hint hint: if needed, ask Dr. Chris about the recommendation he made on my behalf to the BEST Epidural MD expert Dr. Luther Rollins III w/SIPA) that will take excellent care of you like me.
