At no point before, during, or after our visit did anyone meaningfully disclose that this location bills as a hospital outpatient department. Here is what they billed for an initial evaluation visit for a 14-year-old child with a sore back: - PT Evaluation, Low Complexity, 20 min (CPT 97161): $325 - Manual Therapy, 15 min (CPT 97140): $250 - Neuromuscular Reeducation, 2 units (CPT 97112): $452 Total billed: $1,027. For one visit. After the insurance "adjustment," the negotiated rate came to $509. Because we have a high-deductible plan, we owe all of it. To be clear: our insurance paid zero dollars. $509 is the actual price this clinic charges for a single PT evaluation. Independent PT practices in this area typically charge $150-250 for the same visit. Cash-pay evaluations run $100-150. As for the care: they cancelled our follow-up appointment the day of, never rescheduled, and never contacted us again, aside from the incessant automated texts asking us to leave them a review. The next communication about our actual care was this bill. Before you book here, ask one question: "Will this visit be billed under a hospital's tax ID as hospital outpatient services, and is there a facility fee?" We didn't know to ask. Now staff and manager say there's nothing they can do, and hospital billing department (Wellstar Windy Hill) says the same. Be very aware of how you will be treated here and realize this is considered a hospital facility which means they can charge almost $500 for a 15 minute visit.
