It in no way reflects the office or people my wife and I met and have been visiting for the last few weeks. Dr. Bense is friendly and caring. She works with you and recommends ways to stay well after leaving her office. I will continue to visit regularly and recommend her to anyone. I thought weekly headaches were normal, but apparently not. She set me straight and I haven't had one headache since I began seeing her. My weekly visits are pleasant and I always feel great after leaving. Despite being scared before her first visit, my wife is totally at ease with Dr. Bense and has been twice a week for several weeks now. She feels much better all over and doesn't feel pain in her legs any more. Dr. Bense is encouraging and gentle.

The vibe you're going to experience is welcoming, friendly, caring, and genuine. After signing up, you will receive x rays to get a starting point of where you're at and areas of concern so she can construct a plan that fits your needs. Usually you go more often in the beginning and then over time it will be maintenance. You'll get a folder with all your information and your posture photo. At the time I went, they had two adjustment tables separated by a divider, a waiting area to do pre adjustment exercises, and then a "relax" room (not the official name for it) after the adjustment. The exercises are good and you feel good doing them. There's a chair to rotate your hips, a traction device, and a vibrating platform. When using the chair, you can definitely feel how good it is to do this move. The traction device is my favorite. I hold all my stress in my shoulders, upper back and neck. That traction device gets the neck tension and feels amazing. I was never instructed to use the vibration platform so it may be that it's only for certain issues. Once you're done doing all those things, they're usually ready for you. Sometimes there may be a wait if others are chatty, so I don't recommend ever going in a rush. The Doc will do certain adjustments but if you have some preferences, just ask and she'll do them. She'll also ask if you have any new issues or something she should focus on. After that she'll use the percussion gun which is also very enjoyable. Last but not least, the lacrosse ball which she'll give at some point in the beginning along with exercises. Do them and use the ball just like she says. Holy moly! The ball....!!! If you have a tense back from stress, that thing will literally melt knots out. I also have a few other gifts she was kind enough to offer me to help with my needs. She really went out of her way to not be a place where you're just a number and I really experienced what a nice person she is. I am always wary of chiropractors because a lot of them are just snap, crackle, pop practitioners that have you in and out in under 5 minutes, and I've had some do more harm than good. Dr. Amanda is not like that at all. She always sets aside 15 minutes (at least) to assess and massage around the bones before she ever starts to adjust you. She never twists my neck to adjust my vertebrae, like most chiropractors do. She always uses her activator adjusting instrument that just delivers a little pop to the vertebra that's out of alignment. The best way to describe her adjustments is caring and gentle. I don't think I've ever thought that a chiropractor could be gentle. But that's exactly what she is. She never forces any joints that don't want to move. She always tries to soften up the muscle around with massage. I always feel fully refreshed after an adjustment. And her massages are just as amazing. She gives the most calming and therapeutic massages. I always joke around and say she's some sort of immortal fae (fairy) because her therapeutic touch is like magic. She has a new chiropractor/massage therapist (Dr. Jacqueline) working with her as well who just as wonderful massages. I haven't had the pleasure of receiving an adjustment from her yet, but based on her massages, I imagine she's just as careful and gentle as Dr. Amanda. I recommend as many people as I can to go see her because I truly have never been so impressed with a chiropractor. That doesn't reflect on all orthopedic doctors, but it was a poor enough experience to convince me to look elsewhere. I've had chronic back pain for some time, which I attribute mostly to a) being heavy around the mid-section and b) a history of judo and other high impact sports. After the first visit with Dr. Christina I already felt some relief. 3-4 visits later my back pain is reduced to the point that it no longer interferes with my daily activities. I'm sure the pain will return in time but when it does I know who to call!
