Some people, like me, can't handle the "bone-cracker" type. Don't be confused by a chiropractor using an Activator and one trained in the entire Activator Method. There is a world of difference. He listens and keeps trying different things until we find what works best. His practice isn't a soft-tissue practice, so still keep a good physical therapist who does myofascial work, or a massage therapist trained in the Rossiter Technique. But soft tissue work won't fix anything long term if your skeletal system isn't properly aligned! There is a way to live without headaches, low back pain on long airplane rides, or a frozen shoulder! Do some reading on the benefits of the Atlas Orthogonal (AO) method to understand why x-rays at the first visit are required. That adjustment must be precise. Dr. Bolen definitely isn't a come in and get popped kind of chiropractor. For treatment of an acute injury or just long term health maintenance, it's worth that drive for me!

With the community clinic model, there are four beds in one room meaning you can be treated at the same time along with up to three other people. There's soothing new age music playing in the background, but you can still hear talking within the room and sometimes from adjacent rooms. I like bringing earplugs to tune out any chatter. Dr. Judy Yu can seem a little no nonsense, but she puts your health first and genuinely wants you to get better. I've taken quite some time to post my opinion, make comparisons and also give mindful thought to…read moregive this review what it truly deserves. Dr. Lisa is great. The vibe you're going to experience is welcoming, friendly, caring, and genuine. After signing up, you will receive x rays to get a starting point of where you're at and areas of concern so she can construct a plan that fits your needs. Usually you go more often in the beginning and then over time it will be maintenance. You'll get a folder with all your information and your posture photo. At the time I went, they had two adjustment tables separated by a divider, a waiting area to do pre adjustment exercises, and then a "relax" room (not the official name for it) after the adjustment. The exercises are good and you feel good doing them. There's a chair to rotate your hips, a traction device, and a vibrating platform. When using the chair, you can definitely feel how good it is to do this move. The traction device is my favorite. I hold all my stress in my shoulders, upper back and neck. That traction device gets the neck tension and feels amazing. I was never instructed to use the vibration platform so it may be that it's only for certain issues. Once you're done doing all those things, they're usually ready for you. Sometimes there may be a wait if others are chatty, so I don't recommend ever going in a rush. The Doc will do certain adjustments but if you have some preferences, just ask and she'll do them. She'll also ask if you have any new issues or something she should focus on. After that she'll use the percussion gun which is also very enjoyable. Last but not least, the lacrosse ball which she'll give at some point in the beginning along with exercises. Do them and use the ball just like she says. Holy moly! The ball....!!! If you have a tense back from stress, that thing will literally melt knots out. I also have a few other gifts she was kind enough to offer me to help with my needs. She really went out of her way to not be a place where you're just a number and I really experienced what a nice person she is.
