Great place for an adventure with your spouse, friends and family. Parking and entrance are a little odd, as I have come to discover is the norm and not the outlier in escape room facilities. Employees are polite, check in and reservations are a breeze. The rooms themselves were so fun and challenging. Best of all, they have a puppers!!!! Started off fun but then just had a horrible experience. Even though they let us know ahead of time what not to touch in the room, one of my friends accidentally pressed one button. The lady at the front (she told us she's the owners sister) came into the room and proceeds to be rude and make my friend feel stupid. She was not professional at all and could've handled the situation differently. She even made an inappropriate comment. Thankfully we were all young adults in there but I can't even imagine if a kid was in there. She probably has some issues of her own. My friends and I will most definitely not be going back to this place. It was our first time at an escape room too :( read more

Get new workers!!! The lady with the glasses was very disrespectful and thought she could say inappropriate and rude comments because her sister owns the business. She has anger issues that need to be addressed, someone in our party accidentally pressed a button that wasn't supposed to be pressed in the escape room and she started yelling and making rude comments. One of the comments was when she was upset and said that president Clinton's genitalia accidentally slipped into a female after I stated that my friend's hand accidentally pressed the button. We had such a great experience here yesterday! My group loves escape rooms and after doing everything in Bakersfield we have started travelling a bit to do new rooms. We made our way to Fresno yesterday to hit up MoE for the first time. The owners were great in setting us up to do all 4 rooms in the same day and accommodating our time needs. The rooms were incredible, some of the best put together ones we've ever done. They use a lot of different types of puzzles and things instead of just, lock/key/combination that you see at other places, there are some traditional type of things but there are some very unique and interesting puzzles and locks as well. We had an amazing time and escaped all 4 rooms (one with only 17 seconds left lol) and we were talking about how much we enjoyed the rooms all the way back to Bakersfield. We'll definitely visit again when they change some rooms out and have some new options and I highly recommend this place to anyone in Fresno or around Fresno that wants to do some really fun and challenging escape rooms. read more

Awesome escape room experience here! We did the Black Ops room with my family and were able to escape with just 2 minutes remaining. Incredibly well put together sequence of clues and well crafted storyline that I definitely appreciated. Jason was super friendly and did a fantastic job as our game master with some timely well coded hints that nudged us along without giving us the answers. They don't enforce any sort of 3 clue limit here so don't feel like that is a limiting factor if you're hesitant about trying a more challenging room. Let me preface by saying we have done at least 6 other escape rooms prior to this one, in the Bay, LA, Canada, and Fresno. This place ranks on the lower end as far as flow goes, but is in the top for customer service. We booked Detention Bay for 8pm on a Sunday night and our guests ended up arriving a little later than anticipated, so we called to move our reservation up to 6pm to fit our itinerary and the guy was super nice and went ahead and moved it up for us. When we arrived, the space was clean and smelled homely; like a candle had been lit. It was nice. The guy in the front was very friendly and picked our brains on past escape rooms. We've escaped from some and not from others. We've been in small groups where it's just us, and large groups of 12 (stupid IMO). In any case, the tech they use for this room is above a few of the rooms we've been in. Locally, we've done the Temple Room and Bunker Room at Xcape Room and those we're low tech but very hands on, which we enjoyed. For this one, we struggled with a lot of the decoy items. It felt overwhelming. Like there were more things that didn't have meaning than there were actual items that were useful. If that makes sense. We ended up solving things out of order, which became frustrating because we felt there was suppose to be a flow. We got stuck on one part which ended up turning us off of the game completely. Without some of the clues from the Gamemaster, we never would have solved it. Which is frustrating, because it should be a somewhat attainable goal. Not completely unachievable. We got out with 10 minutes to spare but it didn't feel like we earned it, truly. I wanted it to be challenging and flowing but it ended up be frustrating and chaotic. After we were done, the guy told us the pass rates for the rooms, which ranged from 10-30%. Ummmmmm... that's not how it's suppose to work, I feel. It should be fun and challenging, yet attainable for the average person. We left feeling frustrated and confused, but mostly missing the creativity of the bigger city rooms. This place got raving reviews, which is great! However, I feel opinions would be different if they were to be given the opportunity to try big city rooms. read more

He let us finish up the last two moves to see how it ended. I was surprised as we kept moving though the game, with how much thought and detail went into this. We did the W.A.R. I had a great experience here with my coworkers. The staff here is very nice. The person who helped us thoroughly explained us the details of the breakout room. - you will have 1 hour to breakout the room is are "locked" in. There are different rooms with different levels here at Breakout Fresno. My team did the hardest level. It was hard for me because I'm not good with these type of scenarios, so thank god I had some good problem solver and analytical thinkers on my team who think outside the box. This is what Fresno needed. I always on the hunt for a fun active and entertaining activity to enjoy with my husband or with our friends. Going to the movies for date night can get so tired! Breakout Fresno is a game where you are placed in a scenario where you have to escape. To do this you have to do puzzles, use clues and crack codes to accomplish your task! It was harder than I thought it was going to be. The game is so well done. The rooms are top notch. The props are really well done. The puzzles are challenging. I totally recommend having a group. We had a group of 6 and we all had to work together. I highly recommend breakout Fresno as a fun activity to do in Fresno. We will totally be back and we will be breaking out next time!!!! read more

So hard but we ended up Breaking Out with a little more than 2 minutes on the clock. The new owners have slowly been phasing out the old rooms and putting in their own, which is great. The style and feel of the new rooms is different than the old ones. The decor has improved, the tech has improved, the puzzles and flow have stayed the same or gotten a smidge worse. In the most recent room we did there were some remnants of puzzles no longer used that hadn't been completely removed, which seemed a little lazy. We still figured things out and escaped having had a good time. They aren't our favorite place in town, but they definitely aren't the worst! Oh and the audio intro when the room starts is SO LONG... so get comfortable. read more

It's hard to rate an Escape room business because so much of it rides on the individual rooms. While we've been to several different places, this was our first time at Method. Our game was heavy on number locks and auditory clues, which isn't exactly my forte (haha~ can you tell we didn't win??) but super fun none the less and some people really prefer those. Not gonna to drop my rating just because the room has fewer of my preferred type of puzzles... I'm sure their other rooms have a great variety. Our game had fun audio and visual effects and the business itself was great, the owner (I think?) was cool, place was clean. We'll definitely be back for our next date night! I have done Detention Bay and Black Ops and I have to say, this is the best escape room in Fresno. The rooms are challenging without being so hard they're no fun. Detention Bay was hilarious because I kept jumping at every noise. The staff are always super friendly, incredibly helpful. The place is clean and really well designed. I really enjoy this place and it was actually a lot more fun than I thought. The way that the rooms were set up and the clues that were given it helped to make the one hour go by very quickly. Even my friend was surprised at the amount of fun we had and pretty much laughed ourselves into histeria by the end! The staff was extremely courteous and everything ran very smoothly. The only thing I would add is that instead of throwing us into a level 5, which is the highest level, it would be nice to have some in between so that we can work our way up to those hard rooms. Came to Breakout Fresno with three other friends and did their Western-themed escape room (on Cowboys mode), which according to their website is their easiest room. I will attempt to review without any spoilers. The Good: The puzzles were really fun to solve and satisfying to figure out. They were all reasonably thematic as well. All puzzles were logical and we never felt like we were presented with a puzzle that couldn't be completed without hints, but they weren't incredibly easy either. Without spoiling anything, I will say that there is a sort of "twist" in the middle that is incredibly fun and left us talking about it well after we left. The Meh: We were able to "bypass" a couple of the puzzles just by random guesswork. All of their locks were just numbers with the exception of one, no cool creative locks in this room. Although the room was reasonably well-themed, it is in a room with primarily drywall walls and plain white paint. That on top of modern doors, doorknobs, and locks, and the room does not immerse you the way that it could. For that, I knocked off one star. The Bad: As with any escape room, you're not going to get the same "bang for your buck" as you would at a cheaper activity; it's $25 per person and it won't take more than an hour. That being said, you're paying for the experience, and it's something very fun and unique to do that I would recommend anyone who enjoys solving puzzles to try at least once. read more

The youngest was 25 and the oldest was 77 years old, both of them as well as all of those in between enjoyed the evening. Great opportunity to complete and bound with friends of all ages. I went here with a group of friends and my boyfriend for some weekend evening fun. We did this doomsday room where you have to solve before you run out of oxygen. We liked the storyline and signed up. Bailey was the operator and we probably cracked her up the entire time. There's a box with an "alien" in it and it scared me to the point I jumped on the floor. The box isn't not that scary, it just makes a growling noise, but I'm a chicken so I freaked out while they all laughed. I've done escape rooms before so I knew to get a clue right away, but no, my friends wanted to solve it on their own. I know we confused Bailey because I kept asking for a clue and the rest kept saying no. I thought we were going to get done in half the time to only find out our room had two parts! It was so fun working together as a team and scrambling to beat the clock. The equipment and gadgets were a little worn and dated but we had a blast. I know we will do it again. It's over $20 a person for an hour activity, if I remember correctly so it's not the cheapest activity. I also think it's more fun with four or five people but you could go as a couple too if you're good at puzzles and you're competitive. I also named my group after me which was funny. read more
