I went to Paul for the first time in September 2019 to get a simple oil change for my car. Not only did he give me a reasonable price, putting the best oil for my VW beetle, but Paul was so personable, communicative, and honest with me. He let me know what was to come for maintenance on my beetle in order to keep it running well and keep me safe. My car started having trouble much later in the winter and I got worried so I immediately contacted Paul to let him know what was going on. He explained to me by phone what could be possible reasons, providing estimates, but told me to bring it right in so he could take a look. During the diagnostics and repair we emailed back and forth. Paul kept me updated every step of the way. He explained everything thoroughly (since I don't know much anything about cars) and always gave me helpful advice. He got my car up and running again faster than I thought could be done. And once again, the price was very reasonable! I think Paul is a good mechanic and he knows his stuff but with good skills comes success and while business has been good it seems growing staff and providing customer service has taken a back seat. We never heard a word about the car since we brought it in and we called Friday to see what's going on. We were told that the car hasn't been looked at yet. We called today Tuesday and a woman answered and said Paul would call us back in 5-10 minutes. He never did. We had to call back and he finally answered his phone. We were told that they are very busy and work is backed up. What kind of customer service (empathy) is that? We had to call daily to find out about what's happening with the car? It's not asking too much to be kept informed. Is it? At least call and give your customer some updates. Tell me how long you need it for or if I should just come back and take it elsewhere. And get help if you are "too busy" and don't waste our time. read more

I had my oil changed this morning, and left thinking it was by far the best service experience I've ever had. I came up with 5 reasons. First, I was able to make an appointment for an exact time, and was assured that because we set a time, I'd be done in less than 30 minutes. That was the second thing, no open-ended time suck. Third, they were ready and waiting when I arrived on time. Fourth, their waiting area has super comfy sofas and an upholstered recliner. I opened my laptop and got to work. Fifth, there was a guy there (owner?) with a sweet, quiet, cute little kid, just chilling on another sofa. At one point he picked up his guitar and quietly strummed. My blood pressure dropped like 15 points. Twenty minutes later, the mechanic came in and said I was done. The price was about half what the last place charged me. Oh, so 6 reasons this is NOT your average auto shop! read more

Method Autmotive provides outstanding, professional, and friendly service at a reasonable price. I brought my 2016 Mustang GT into Method Automotive because I was getting loud clunking from the rear suspension. Paul diagnosed the issue right away and explained to me that I had two blown shocks. Turns out the previous shop, which installed the new performance shocks had damaged the seals by over-torquing the top shock nuts with an impact gun. Paul did an absolutely EXCELLENT job replacing the rear shocks with a second set of new shocks. Unlike shop #1, he followed the manufacturer instructions word for word, closely paying attention to every detail throughout the installation. I was very pleased to see he had carefully torqued every bolt to factory spec and applied blue thread locker where called for. Paul kept updating me on his progress throughout the day via e-mail. He is one of the BEST automotive experts in the DMV! Paul far exceeded my expectations for service and quality [of labor]. I also met Paul's colleague, Jonathan, who is a very friendly and incredibly knowledgable automotive technician as well. I've hired Method Automotive to install many other performance suspension parts, because I do not trust any other shop to work on my new Mustang.
