I have now been shopping with Metaphor since they first open. They have great outfits for each and every season. When I'm in need for an outfit whether it be for a girls night out or a date night, I always count on Metaphor. The customer service is amazing, always has a smile and greeting you as soon as you walk in the door. The staff as well as the owner are exceptional people. NO STARS would be the choice here except YELP doesn't give you that as an option. Absolutely DO NOT shop at this store if purchasing for anyone but yourself. Even then, I would hesitate to give money to an owner of such questionable integrity. If you have the unfortunate experience of either receiving or giving an item that does not properly fit from this store, and do not arrive on their doorstep within 7 days of ORIGINAL date of purchase, you are just flat out of luck. NO STORE CREDIT. NO EXCHANGE. NO REFUND. (Even with receipt.) So essentially you have an item that does not fit, with tags, in pristine condition, but no recourse for satisfaction. In essence:Hannah Le - the owner had essentially stolen your money. (They did however have no problem keeping the item, and we can assume sold it yet again.) I really like this boutique. I feel they are always friendly and helpful. I have met the owner a few times - her and the associates are very accommadable. Clothing selections change frequently so if you see it and struggle with making up your mind, get it! Return policy is very common for small businesses. I feel like those who give negative reviews don't understand small business don't operate like big corp. Please consider that. I have bought several pieces here over the past two years and they are still in good shape - follow the washing instructions religiously. read more

What a great surprise to see this new boutique here in Old Town Vista! This place looks like it came out of San Francisco or New York City. Besides it being interesting & unique within itself, they seem to carry one of a kind treasures by different Artists from all over. They also carry some fun & unusual cards which some made from wood, hard candy made in Brooklyn which I bought for my Auntie who's from there originally. I can't say enough how happy I am to see this Boutique here. I've never been a mall shopper & love supporting smalls shops. Oh, how I love this little gem of a boutique in Vista! I've been frequenting Metaphor since I moved here last year. I'm always greeted by a friendly worker, and I love to browse the selection of perfectly curated clothes and accessories. My fiancé (whom I refer to as my hype man) loves coming here with me too because everyone is always so sweet. Look, I'm kinda self conscious, and I'm not much of a clothes shopper.....however, my favorite thing about Metaphor is the gals here are not only friendly, but they have a knack for suggesting things for me to try I wouldn't otherwise; and I end up LOVING. I just wanted to give a shout out to this very awesome women's boutique. I was new to the area after getting married and walked in one day after seeing it on my way to Starbucks. I was greeted warmly and not hounded to buy anything. I was allowed to look on my own which I love because that way I can go over every inch of the store making sure I don't miss that one special thing I might find. When I did speak to the woman who was helping me she was so nice and helpful. Every single time I've gone in there I have left with something and that doesn't happen for me. As I've gotten older I've found I'm more of a picky shopper,the impulses don't over take me anymore. They have great choices by LoveStich and lovely jewelry of which I own a lot of. During the whole COVID thing I needed a few pieces for a event I was attending and I went online and found them. The owner called me and they were hand delivered to my house the next day. I could not ask for better service or more friendly staff and these days both of those are hard to come by. Im so glad they made it through the closings. This is Vista's best kept secret. I heard about this store from a friend and had to check it out. The staff there is so friendly and helpful. The owner did a great job of curating the collection there - I felt like I wanted to try on every piece! Perhaps the best treat was the price of the clothing at Metaphor! Usually boutiques tend to charge a premium for the boutique experience. I was delighted that at Metaphor, the prices were incredibly reasonable but yet you felt like you were getting a one-of-a-kind piece. I love this boutique! I like the handmade creams and body scrubs and this boutique has a variety of products made with natural ingredients. Friends and I smelled all the different aluminum-free deodorants, (LOL). I liked the jewelry selection at Metaphor. I am allergic to nickel and I thought I was only able to wear genuine jewelry. Fist off cute store so we entered in.... I usually stay towards the Main Street area so last week a friend & I ventured around the area feeling curious. My friend said hi to the girl behind the the register but there was no reply. We were not greeted with a hello, a look or any acknowledgement that we were even there. The blond girl did not interact with us at all. I think she might have been on her phone since she was just looking down (until some time later the owner came in from the back) I thought how rude or thought perhaps she was autistic. (Reason to be compassionate towards her if that is the case...otherwise it felt snobbish) The only time we were spoken to was when we were all leaving & the owner & said girl were working on inventory. Then and only then we had smiles sent our way and a goodbye from them both. It was weird. Looks like they support local artists as far as trinkets & jewelry.
