First time here was back in 2013, and I had loved this store back then. Picked up a leather bracelet made by local designer and still wear it now. Lots of jewelry and clothing to choose from in prices that were along the spectrum of inexpensive to pricey. Came in last weekend and it was just pricey. And the gal behind the counter was rather cold. What happened? read more

Walked in with my daughter to do some shopping and the younger girl in glasses working there just sat behind the counter and stared at me looking thru their selection. Didn't ask if i needed help or anything. I felt super uncomfortable so we left. Similar brands, better options at Ragz and Revolution in Carlsbad+way better customer service. read more

I have now been shopping with Metaphor since they first open. They have great outfits for each and every season. When I'm in need for an outfit whether it be for a girls night out or a date night, I always count on Metaphor. The customer service is amazing, always has a smile and greeting you as soon as you walk in the door. The staff as well as the owner are exceptional people. They all try to help find the perfect outfit, that looks and feels right on me. Now they have men's clothing,...thrilled !!! Just picked up a great new Father's Day outfit for my future husband. A store you will enjoy. Check out Metaphor- styles for all!!! read more

What a great surprise to see this new boutique here in Old Town Vista! This place looks like it came out of San Francisco or New York City. Besides it being interesting & unique within itself, they seem to carry one of a kind treasures by different Artists from all over. They also carry some fun & unusual cards which some made from wood, hard candy made in Brooklyn which I bought for my Auntie who's from there originally. I can't say enough how happy I am to see this Boutique here. I've never been a mall shopper & love supporting smalls shops. Best of all, the price on clothes are affordable, I will sure make it a habit of seeing what they get in weekly!!! read more

I really like this boutique. I feel they are always friendly and helpful. I have met the owner a few times - her and the associates are very accommadable. Clothing selections change frequently so if you see it and struggle with making up your mind, get it! Return policy is very common for small businesses. I feel like those who give negative reviews don't understand small business don't operate like big corp. Please consider that. I have bought several pieces here over the past two years and they are still in good shape - follow the washing instructions religiously. read more

NO STARS would be the choice here except YELP doesn't give you that as an option. Absolutely DO NOT shop at this store if purchasing for anyone but yourself. Even then, I would hesitate to give money to an owner of such questionable integrity. If you have the unfortunate experience of either receiving or giving an item that does not properly fit from this store, and do not arrive on their doorstep within 7 days of ORIGINAL date of purchase, you are just flat out of luck. NO STORE CREDIT. NO EXCHANGE. NO REFUND. (Even with receipt.) So essentially you have an item that does not fit, with tags, in pristine condition, but no recourse for satisfaction. In essence:Hannah Le - the owner had essentially stolen your money. (They did however have no problem keeping the item, and we can assume sold it yet again.) Better Business Bureau & Chamber of Commerce complaint to follow. read more

What a great store, such cute clothes and very reasonable prices! Sandy was so helpful giving me advice and helping pick out the perfect outfit for the occasion. I will definitely be back read more

A+ Shopping experience. They were so great with helping me pick out items for a special event. All of the clothes were cute. Everything I picked up was very reasonably priced. Two thumbs up. Oh, how I love this little gem of a boutique in Vista! I've been frequenting Metaphor since I moved here last year. I'm always greeted by a friendly worker, and I love to browse the selection of perfectly curated clothes and accessories. My fiancé (whom I refer to as my hype man) loves coming here with me too because everyone is always so sweet. Look, I'm kinda self conscious, and I'm not much of a clothes shopper.....however, my favorite thing about Metaphor is the gals here are not only friendly, but they have a knack for suggesting things for me to try I wouldn't otherwise; and I end up LOVING. This is the kind of stuff that an online fast fashion shop could never replace! Do yourself a favor and come buy some cute clothes and accessories here! read more

Metaphor Owner: First of all thank you for your insincere apology to my post on 7/16/14. It seems like you feel the need to go into a long detailed explanation of arguing your side of the story. A shrewd business owner would keep it simple and be professional. Thank you for implying that I don't know how to launder clothes. Honestly, I wash and dry everything regardless of the instructions. Funny the few garments that I've purchased at your store are the only ones that can't withstand this process. And thank you for calling me a liar. I heard you clearly when you told me to spend my store credit wisely. If you want to deny what you said to appear like a nice person be my guest. Your staff is really nice...you are not! read more

I just wanted to give a shout out to this very awesome women's boutique. I was new to the area after getting married and walked in one day after seeing it on my way to Starbucks. I was greeted warmly and not hounded to buy anything. I was allowed to look on my own which I love because that way I can go over every inch of the store making sure I don't miss that one special thing I might find. When I did speak to the woman who was helping me she was so nice and helpful. Every single time I've gone in there I have left with something and that doesn't happen for me. As I've gotten older I've found I'm more of a picky shopper, the impulses don't over take me anymore. They have great choices by LoveStich and lovely jewelry of which I own a lot of. During the whole COVID thing I needed a few pieces for a event I was attending and I went online and found them. The owner called me and they were hand delivered to my house the next day. I could not ask for better service or more friendly staff and these days both of those are hard to come by. Im so glad they made it through the closings. If you are ever in the area it would be your loss if you didn't at least stop in ! Thanks to everyone there ! Stacey read more

Love, love, love this little gem of a store in downtown Vista. Great merchandise that is very affordable. Every time I walk in, I end up buying something. Also would like to add that the owner had no problem exchanging a dress I bought. This store has a great, funky vibe. read more

This is Vista's best kept secret. I heard about this store from a friend and had to check it out. The staff there is so friendly and helpful. The owner did a great job of curating the collection there - I felt like I wanted to try on every piece! Perhaps the best treat was the price of the clothing at Metaphor! Usually boutiques tend to charge a premium for the boutique experience. I was delighted that at Metaphor, the prices were incredibly reasonable but yet you felt like you were getting a one-of-a-kind piece. I am bummed that I live in the Bay Area... but every time I'm in SD, I'll definitely be making a stop at Metaphor. read more

Super cute boutique :) I love the selection... simple basics and accent pieces. And great prices! Love the open-ness of the store layout... she hasn't tried to pack as much crap as possible in, just puts the essential merchandise. I'll be going back ;) read more

Hannah and co. make going to Metaphor into a fun and welcoming experience. I've always enjoyed shopping there and I'm super happy that Metaphor is so close! :) read more

I love this boutique! I like the handmade creams and body scrubs and this boutique has a variety of products made with natural ingredients. Friends and I smelled all the different aluminum-free deodorants, (LOL). I liked the jewelry selection at Metaphor. I am allergic to nickel and I thought I was only able to wear genuine jewelry. (I'm not made of money so I only have a pair of gold earrings). At metaphor they sell nickel-free accessories!! read more

I love metaphor and I've been going there for years but I feel like things have gotten way too expensive with the new owners and they're losing a lot of my favorite brands. $50 for a shirt and I didn't see anything there from Lush or Audrey I hope they get new stuff soon! read more

I came here last week in search of fun/sexy/fierce clothing to update my 70% black wardrobe. I found 1 amazing pieces(a coral crop button up) for a super affordable price. The stylist was adorable and attentive in giving me a room and offering assistance right away. I will without a doubt be back!! Thanks Metaphor! read more

My absolute favorite store! I love shopping here for many reasons. One, because the store itself is just so lovely and decorated with beautifully, I wish I could live there! Two, the pieces they have are unique, stylish and affordable. As a fashion blogger, I love to find shops like this that provide me with nothing but the best for my ever-evolving wardrobe. And thirdly, owner Hannah is the sweetest person you'll meet. She really takes the time to get to know her customers and their stories, and only wants them to have the best experience in her store as possible. I highly recommend checking out this shop, you'll be swooning for days! read more

It's great they have a men's section now. Always new items coming in and friendly staff.

Fist off cute store so we entered in.... I usually stay towards the Main Street area so last week a friend & I ventured around the area feeling curious. My friend said hi to the girl behind the the register but there was no reply. We were not greeted with a hello, a look or any acknowledgement that we were even there. The blond girl did not interact with us at all. I think she might have been on her phone since she was just looking down (until some time later the owner came in from the back) I thought how rude or thought perhaps she was autistic. (Reason to be compassionate towards her if that is the case...otherwise it felt snobbish) The only time we were spoken to was when we were all leaving & the owner & said girl were working on inventory. Then and only then we had smiles sent our way and a goodbye from them both. It was weird. Looks like they support local artists as far as trinkets & jewelry. I couldn't tell if it was an upscale resale or all brand new. I did like the lotions in the back. read more
