They media-blasted my old smoker and powder coated it back to life! They did a great job. I shopped around first and I felt the most comfortable with Metalink based on our conversation and the price. They waited until I came to pick it up to blast the expanded metal grill. They could have done it all at one time but they knew it would start oxidizing, It's always the little things that make the big difference. I got it coated and seasoned as soon as I got it home. A year later I have set up another small job with them. It's small enough that they offered to do it while I wait which is nice since they are a little ways out there. I am very happy with Metalink. Installed the two small chain link fences in my side yard with gates. Instead of putting the metal posts in with cement they simply pounded the poles into the sandy soil. The gates started to sag in less then 6 months. Beware. read more

I recently welded up a custom roof rack for my Ford Transit Connect. I did not want to leave it bare steel and figured a sprayed paint finish would not hold up to the abuses of a commercial use roof rack. I looked at several local businesses two were way out of the ball park and one was close in price but was way north of my SE Travis location. I spoke with Gene at Metalink and he was very personable and straight forward about what he would do for the powder coating process. Metalink's cost was very reasonable and the turn around was quicker than quoted. The finish was very nice and very durable. One of the first loads on my new rack, I accidentally drug a hidden staple across a side rail, making a sickening scraping noise, when I climbed up to inspect the damage I could not find any. GOOD FENCES MAKE GOOD NEIGHBORS. It's an old saying but it' still true to this day. My 17 year old privacy fence needed replacement and it was just a matter of time before a strong wind might come along and blow it down. I called the original fence company as well as another BIG BOX fence company for estimates. Marry Ross came out and asked us about the KIND of fence we wanted. We explained this was our "forever house" and we wanted a PREMIUM fence with all the bells and whistles including 3 gates. She helped us with suggestions and even broke down the cost of each side so that our neighbors could pay a part of the new fence on their side. Her quote as WELL under the prices of the others and my new fence looks like a million bucks. Everything was done as contracted and Mary Ross was out no less than 5 times during the two day job to insure it was done to our satisfaction. We went with Metalink because we have done business with one of their employees on an unrelated/personal level. At first we were encouraged as they communicated with us well re: timelines and expectations but that quickly went south once the fence was "installed". The first alarm went off when we measured the fence and realized they had shorted us 55-60 feet which equals about $675. We had to bring this to their attention. Over the last 6 months, we have realized that some of the posts were not set deep enough, or had enough concrete or any concrete around them and that the main gate was set too far from it's post and could easily be broken/breached by my dogs. Numerous calls to have it fixed have been met with equally numerous broken promises to get back to us/get someone out there. When you spend 7K on a fence, one would expect better service and quality. Said they had a sick kid unexpectedly, and would call me back to reschedule. Never called. Called a few weeks later to try again. Received one voice mail from their guy. I was looking for a fencing company to do a small residential job at my house and had no idea who to go to. One day I was at a baseball field that was entirely fenced in and I noticed how nice a job it was, so I saw the Metalink placard on the fence and gave them a call. Jimmy Navarro and I discussed my needs, I sent him a diagram I made and he sent me a quote in only a day or so. After I gave them a deposit, I was scheduled a couple of weeks later. On the day of the install, Jimmy arrived to introduce himself and the install crew followed right behind. We all went over the job, and the crew got to work. The men worked in the heat of a July day and kept a steady pace. Eight hours after arriving, they had finished and cleaned up everything. The fence was just a vinyl-coated chain link, but it looks wonderful. Their work was flawless -- on time, done to spec., and without a single glitch. This whole thing turned out to be the easiest, most care-free experience I had ever had with a contractor. read more
